I would think as a dessert shop you should have some back up selections. Everything we purchased had been sitting for a while and was stale. There was only one couple in the whole place on a Saturday evening. Not a good experience for us, but you might want to try it for yourself. To me, you should have a bit more selection with your store still being open.

Do yourself a favor and try the Crème Brûlée cookie... it's next-level. The texture, the sweetness, that caramelized flavor--absolute perfection. 1 out of 5 -- Disappointing Experience Despite Keto Excitement…read more As someone on keto, I was genuinely excited to try Half Baked's keto cookie options -- it's hard enough finding good keto-friendly sweets, and I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly from the moment I walked in. When I entered, there was no one at the front counter, so I waited a few seconds and looked around. Eventually, a lady came out from the back. I politely asked if they were open since it seemed empty, and she replied, "Is the door open?" -- in a snippy, sarcastic tone. Not the warmest start. As I tried to place my order, she cut me off mid-sentence and said, "All the prices are on the board." I'm not sure if she thought I was questioning prices or couldn't afford it, but it came off rude and dismissive. I decided to just order and leave at that point. The first two cookies I asked for were unavailable because they were out of the keto icing, so I told her to just give me any four keto cookies that were available. I asked about the keto bazookie, and she said it had to be ordered 15 minutes in advance -- fair enough. I decided to skip it and left with my cookies. Now, for the food review: * Chocolate Chip (Keto): 8/10 - Easily the best one. Soft, rich, and satisfying for a keto treat. I'd recommend this one. * Peanut Butter (Keto): 3/10 - Way too much peanut butter; I had to chase it down with water. * Sugar Cookie (Keto): 2/10 - Overly sweet and tasted like it was rolled in stevia or another artificial sweetener. * Double Chocolate Chip (Keto): 7/10 - Pretty good flavor and texture, no complaints. * Crème Brûlée (Keto) - Couldn't really judge since it was missing the icing/topping. My friend ordered from the regular (non-keto) menu and had mixed feelings: * Walnut Chocolate Chip: 10/10 - He said it was one of the best cookies he's ever had. * Double Chocolate Chip: 1/10 - Too sweet, he took one bite and tossed it. Overall, I'd rate the customer service a 1/10 and the overall visit a 1/5. I really wanted to like this place, and the cookies themselves had potential -- especially for keto options -- but the rude and dismissive service ruined the experience. I hope this was just an off day for the employee and not something deeper, involving race but either way, the attitude left a bad impression. It's a shame, because I would've loved to come back to try the keto bazookie and the cookies that were missing icing.

I drove out here specifically to redeem a free classic cakeball or signature truffle using their…read morerewards program. I don't come often because parking is always a nightmare, and tonight was no exception. When I showed them the app, the staff seemed confused on how to do a redemption. So they had to call the owner for help. The owner apparently told them not to honor the redemption because they were in the process of switching rewards program platforms, and what used to be a 50‑point reward was going to be a 300‑point reward. The staff said my points would transfer eventually, but I only will have 63 -- not enough under the new system. Hey, I'm no entrepreneur. But I am a customer who eats out all the time. And to me this is a textbook example of an owner who doesn't get customer service. I drove all the way there, dealt with the parking, and came specifically to redeem a reward that still showed as valid in their app. It's not my fault their system hadn't switched over yet. These cakeball and truffle treats are only the size of a donut hole. It's not one of their higher end desserts. The obvious right move would've been to honor the reward and give the customer the treat. But nope. They chose the stingy route instead. And with that one decision, they lost another customer. Congrats and enjoy your cakeballs.

I stopped in on a very busy spring break afternoon to sample the wares. Got a banana pudding cone. The dessert is ice cream and banana pudding layered into a cone, topped with sprinkles and drizzle. The cone is heavily crusted with sugar sprinkles and is very crunchy. The cone is served in a cup, which is great for catching the crumbs that come off the bedazzled cone. It's good pudding, and includes the traditional vanilla wafer sandwiched deep in the cone. The mix of ice cream and pudding was very tasty. You also have the option to get cheesecake instead of ice cream in the cone. They also sell it as a parfait. There are many options to choose from here--cookies, dipped cheesecakes, and some unique specialties like candied grapes. It can be a bit overwhelming. The cone set me back $14 with tax and tip, and even now that seems like a lot. But I don't think it's out of the ordinary for a food truck, they have to charge a price that will cover the overhead of running a truck. Dessert trucks are a good choice at La Plaza de los Food Trucks right now becase during crawfish season Texas Crawfish takes most of the oxygen. Having a complementary business makes good strategic sense. From Jay's website she appears to be an energetic and entrepreneurial college student, and the truck is a family affair. I liked what I got and hope she does well.

The one consistency is that the cookies are large, have a crunch to the outer layer while having a soft chewiness to it. The cookies are ALWAYS fresh. Another benefit of the app is that you can accrue points with every purchase that can lead to free cookies. Ordering in store is also an option via a self serve kiosk or with a staff member. If you like sharing the cookie or dividing to save for later, you can purchase a perfectly sized cookie cutter from the store. I recommend using an airtight Tupperware if you plan to eat a day or more later, for freshness. And if you'd like smaller sized cookies, they are only for catering sized orders

I had a couple dollar bills and sped to it before closing, did get cuernitos, cinnamon cookies, and my all time-fave conchas. The conchas were my favorite by far, the cinnamon cookies very powdery, sugary and dusty which is just the way I like it, the cuernitos however I was a little disappointed since they were rally hard even the center with the yellow which is my favorite part. It could be that I did get 2 out of the last 3 they had but I felt they were a little too small and hard for my comfort. The employee was direct and on the mission to check me out which I can understand when there is only 15 minutes until closing time OR perhaps the fact that there was a misfortunate " language barrier" which there wasn't but I like to believe that people miss that I too speak Spanish. The prices were a little higher than I typically pay at a Mexican bakery but I still managed to pay with the cash I had in hand. I will stop by one more time and give them another chance, when you make a late night trip close to closing you get slim pickin's and will come at a more reasonable time.
