I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. My children have taken gymnastics and karate in there. I do not feel the seating in the downstairs area is adequate, but I hear the Park District is looking at upgrades to the facility soon. The splash pad is wonderful - plenty of fountains and a slide to amuse the kids. The park has a number of swings and a variety of slides for every age group. Basically there is something for every age group and pretty much year round. As mentioned in prior reviews, you can host a party or meeting upstairs for an economical, centrally located event.

The room was spacious with plenty of space for the tables, auction tables, casino tables, stage, etc. The hot hors d'oeuvres were served hot, basic but good tasting, there was an attractive array of desserts, staff was efficient in clearing plates, replenishing the buffet and helping with AV needs. The bartenders were great. The bathrooms were clean, and stocked. The guests were having a great time and the setting of Chateau Ritz helped to enhance that. We did notice when we arrived for the event that there were a few people hanging around the parking lot (not guests). When we left for the evening, a person was walking through the lot, talking to people (talking to himself?) and moving between the cars.

They recently remodeled the hotel and the rooms and everything is super clean and updated. There's also a kitchenette and fridge, which I love in hotel rooms. They also have a free breakfast buffet in the morning. If you need to take their shuttle from the airport, make sure you call the front desk to have them send the driver. They have shuttles running 24 hours, but you need to call them.

The show was awesome but the one MAJOR MAJOR issue I have is the bartender who continued to serve my sister's friend. He was obviously very very drunk to a point where he could barely walk wo/stumbling. He was slurring his words. Both my sister & I asked the bartender not to serve him anymore alcohol but she kept serving him drinks even after we asked. She continued to serve him even after we asked her not to. When he and my sister left she told me he tried to put the key in the ignition 14X's before she convinced him to let her drive. Your bartender's need to be aware of a persons level of intoxication. Both my sister & I asked her not to serve him anymore drinks but she continued to serve him. Thank God my sister was able to convince him to let her drive home otherwise what was an excellent evening could have ended tragically. Please have your bartenders be more conscious of a persons level of intoxication. While I gave Bourbon & Brass a 5 star review I need to down grade that for over serving someone alcohol even after both my sister & I asked her to stop serving him

There was a show that evening, when we entered the theater, the usher asked to see our tickets. I asked how to get to the speakeasy and the usher pointed to the elevator, take it to the second floor. Once we got to the second floor, more ushers greeted us and informed us there's a jazz band performing and small cover charge. As soon as we paid and entered through the bookshelf, the room was beautifully arranged as a lounge with fancy and vintage sofas and couches. Kind of reminds me of someone grandma's house. The bar had snacks available, otherwise more drink options. The band played good songs too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and jazz fan.
