I ate dinner here and everything was off to a wonderful start, until my sea bass came out with NUMEROUS bones and cartilage in it, this amount of inedible materials was nothing that I've experienced before. The server didn't come over at all after our food was dropped and after about 25 minutes I had to grab another servers attention to let her know, she then grabbed our server and I re-explained the situation, saying it's inedible and I don't feel comfortable eating bones & cartilage. She said you don't want anything else? I said no thank you, i'm very content. The eggplant & french fries were delicious and I smiled, truly understanding and okay with the situation. She politely nodded and took my fish away.
Upon leaving, we saw that we were being charged for the fish and when I questioned why, a huge argument began. She said the fish was normal, there's nothing wrong with it, it's on me. I need to pay. She then said she TOLD me I needed to pay for it before she took my entire meal away (which was a complete lie - even the other person I was with said she 100% didn't say that). I said perhaps you said it in italian but it wasn't communicated to me in English. I asked her to get the manager at that point and she refused and kept going on and on -- arguing, raising her voice and interrupting me, so I had to give it to her back. After a few minutes going back and forth, I said okay, can I at least get a new meal or something else? and she said no, you can take the one that's in the kitchen (in the trash? god no!). I said well I'm not paying for something inedible that was taken from me after a few small bites. She kept saying you have to pay! I told you before I took your meal away that you have to pay. That was a blatant lie. Nothing of the sort came out of her mouth. She told me "YOU are the liar. I speak perfectly good english". She then began yelling in italian, arms up and all, telling all of her coworkers who all came out of the kitchen and dining room to watch, making a spectacle of it. Another gentleman finally came out, exchange some words in italian to cashier, and the cashier said "okay we took off the fish". Then as I was paying she said I was a rude person and have a "horrible horrible mood" -- I'm literally the politest, happiest & most bubbly person on earth you could possible interact with but I was NOT going to be gaslighted and taken advantage of, so I was assertive and stood my ground, however that came across, it was no excuse to handle the situation like that. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable for the staff to behave that way - the young waitress was clearly immature and could not control her emotions. What a disgrace to the restaraunt owner. Any other server, in any other restaurant, in any country, would be fired for this kind of harassing behavior. It's a shame because one interaction just ruined our entire experience and made it go from 5 to 0 stars! And it seems that other people have had the same negative experiences.
