Fresco is the kind of place that makes you double-check you're still in Como and not suddenly in NYC, LA, or a Michelin restaurant bar. The cocktails are inventive, elevated, and layered with thought, yet the atmosphere is relaxed and elevated while also unpretentious. Andrea, the owner, is part mad scientist (he has his chemistry set in the front window) and part storyteller. He crafts flavor profiles with house-made natural extracts that feel both novel and perfectly balanced. We had a blast geeking out with him about spirits while Satish and the rest of the team kept the night lively with warm hospitality and a bit of history woven into every pour. The naturally flavored home made welcome apertif and little bites were a charming touch, but the real highlight was realizing this wasn't just a drink, it was a total experience. This bar literally needs a 6/5. I haven't had such an intimate and enjoyable experience at a cocktail bar since ~2010. The ambiance was amazing (low light, jazz music). The owner was truly passionate about his craft. A beautiful desert was offered on the house alongside the first round. Of course, the drinks were incredible. The company too! I walked out the front door in a state of bliss. Oh yeah! I also forgot to mention that they infuse and subsequently diffuse their own alcohols, alongside making a chamomile based bitters with a 150 year-old recipe. read more

This place is the absolute best and a must visit if you're in Lake Como. My husband and I came here and the bartender made the most incredible drinks based off our "likes"- he is so talented. And the server who seated us and brought us food was so friendly. So fun if you're a connoisseur of mixed drinks! read more

Fantastic place for artisanal cocktails and tasty snacks. The interior is super cute and the bartenders are friendly and helpful in picking drinks. They make special elixirs of their own for a twist on classic cocktails. Highly recommended! read more

An incredibly neat spot for a cocktail before dinner or a late night digestive. Excellent service. These are true craft cocktails and the menu changes every season. Fresco's is along the main road leading to the lake and just off the main shopping district easy walking distance from most of the hotels. All fresh ingredients from juices to herbs to syrups. They serve two kind of nuts with your drinks and if you lucky they offer an appetizer free of charge - the night we were they served a absolutely delicious ham salad with toast points. We stumbled across Fresco Cocktail Bar on our way to the Osteria L'angolo del Silenzio next door. It was definitely one of the coolest establishments we found in our two weeks traveling around Northern Italy. A fun, rustic and classy cocktail bar. It's a really small, cozy bar that has a vintage, friendly but hip feel to it. The two rooms were definitely worthy of a photo shoot but we failed on that note. There was a huge chalkboard with prices for all their exotic liquors and the bar itself was actually surprisingly small. The night we were there was lively with locals and a few tourists and they had good 1930's jazz on the stereo such as Louis Armstrong and others I was unfamiliar with. I think it's great to get turned on to great American music while you are in a tiny bar in Italy. The cocktail menu was extensive but seemed to lean towards the sweet side, barring any translation problems on our part. The two cocktails we ordered were both excellent. The staff were also quite friendly and brought us great little snacks while we waited for our drinks. First off they brought some olives, tortilla chips and corn nuts. Later they brought some little shrimp and cheese. If you find yourself in Como I definitely recommend stopping in to see what's going on. A great find. My other half is cocktail-tastic so she is always on the lookout for her next one. We headed to this place on our first night in Como (a Tuesday) and the place was closed so beware. However we came back on a Thursday and were not disappointed. Great selection of spirits and very friendly and knowledgable staff. We ordered off menu and the waiter was happy with this and even offered suggestions to give our favourite drinks a twist. Service was attentive, but drinks slow in arriving- however this is understandable when you see the care and effort the barman put into making them. Cool atmosphere and lots of locals there. Off the beaten track so you may not stumble on it as a visitor. Great bar. read more

Two perfectionist "mixologists" hand craft unbelievable cocktails, just outside the city walls, not far from the Lago Nord Train Station. Each ingredient is totally fresh so if your drink contains say raspberries, they are crushed and strained into your drink as it's prepared.
