Taco flight special Wednesday night with à la dama beverage
    Michaela R.

La dama was great! We came for Wednesday night taco night, 3 tacos on the flight, comes with a Mexican beer! The tacos were great, the veggie one a little charred, but I loved the meat ones! Great ambiance; dark wirh pretty Mexican decor. Service was great, waiter was very attentive! We got the guac as an app, and the radishes were a great addition! Did wish they gave chips and salsa, but will 100% be back!

Great service! The staff was very helpful in recommendations and attentive to our table! I met a friend for dinner in a Tuesday. We enjoyed the Margarita and guacamole special. The guacamole was pretty basic, could have used more flavor. The Pork Belly appetizer was delicious. Nice and crisp pork belly and sweet corn puree. The bone marrow also good with great presentation! The tacos were average, I did not feel like anything special. The birria was tender and juicy. Overall great experience and food however on the pricer side.

We keep going back to La Dama when we want an elevated yet authentic Mexican cuisine. Las night was a delight in repeat. They have added branzino to the menu and I licked my plate clean. They ran out of a new cocktail, recent added to the bar menu and I was lucky to snag the last night, and wow was it a delight. My hubby had the taco trio and it was gone within minutes. My family member( new to the restaurant) had it chicken and he couldn't stop raving about it. The 2 desserts we shared were gorgeous and delightful. Can't wait to come back.

La Dama is a beautiful spot with a warm vibe, a great back patio, and a menu full of thoughtful flavor. We came on a Tuesday and definitely recommend it -- $5 margaritas and $5 off guac were a nice bonus and a great way to kick things off! The guacamole was super fresh with radish and tomato for a little texture - simple, clean, and well-seasoned. The margs were solid too, not too sweet at all. The real standout was the Salmon Encrustado... perfectly cooked, juicy, and paired with beet purée and hibiscus reduction that actually brought the whole dish together. Would 100% order again. The Cochinita Pibil had a beautiful presentation, but flavor-wise, it just didn't stand out. Not bad, just not memorable. I appreciated how accommodating the kitchen was with my food allergies on the Cazuela de Repollitos y Hongos. The flavors were great - especially the pomegranate and chimichurri! the dish was a little too oily for my taste but tasty nonetheless-the-less. We also tried the birria tacos , which were definitely tasty -- super flavorful -- but $21 for three tacos felt hard to justify, even in a higher-end setting. Service was a highlight -- our server was incredible: friendly, attentive, and even surprised my friend with a birthday dessert Overall: La Dama delivers on experience! great staff, beautiful atmosphere, and solid food with a few standouts. On the pricier side, but worth checking out, especially if you go on a Tuesday.

Had girls dinner here tonight. We were seated in the back '"patio" which had space heaters for this chilly June day. The staff were wonderful and kind! We had Alexa as our server and she made sure we had what we needed. I had the salmon encrustado and wow. I love Mexican food but let me say, this was one of the best non "typical" Mexican food I've ever had. Hibiscus reduction!? Beet puree!? Corn on salmon!? Fantastic! I enjoyed a Mexican beer with lime and salt. My friends got the taco trio and a few mixed drinks and loved them. Next time I think we will do the apps and share. Would recommend!

    Carne asada

OMG -- this place seriously blew me away. The portions were good and the flavor was next level. Everything tasted incredible! We ordered the carne asada and the chicken in mole, and both were absolutely amazing. The carne asada was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the mole sauce on the chicken was rich, complex, and honestly one of the best I've had. The real surprise though was the pork belly esquite appetizer -- wow. Smoky, savory, and perfectly balanced. It's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Great food, great flavors, great service (thank you Chris) and definitely a place I'd come back to again. If you like real Mexican food with bold flavor, this spot is a must try. PS: Signature drinks were on point!

My three girlfriends and I went to La Dama Mexican Kitchen & Bar in Walker's Point for dinner Friday night. A reservation is definitely needed for this cute and quaint restaurant! We ordered the guacamole, which was refreshing and pretty! I loved the pomegranate seeds and fruit on top. We each order the three taco dinner, my favorite tacos were the Tampiqueno (hangar steak) and the Pastorcito (guajillo glazed pork belly). They were flavorful, well-balanced, and the meat was very good quality and tasted great. I love how everything was seasoned. The staff were very friendly, including the cooks, who you can see when you arrive and leave the restaurant.

I've driven by La Dama several times and finally had a chance to stop in and try their food. I'm not sure what I pictured for the interior, but it was definitely cozy and laid out well to maximize their limited space (plus a few seats at the bar - where I sat). I didn't realize going in that the menu would be at a higher price point. I was skeptical about $8 tacos and as much as I wanted to mentally reprice them - once I ate a taco, I switched my mind, these are appropriately priced. I got 3 Pancita tacos (guajillo rubbed roasted pork belly...) and I still think about how impressed I was with these. In addition, I ordered Chillitos Rellenos (egg battered stuffed jalapenos with duck carnitas...) as an appetizer and after the first two plates, it wasn't hard to entice me to try dessert. Just three options on the menu, the bartender called attention to the Tarta de Arandanos and it was a great choice. If you're looking for a date night spot, this would be a good fit.

My first encounter with La Dama was at an event. They had a great veggie dish in a parking lot full of meat dishes. Based on that my mom and I decided to visit the restaurant recently. We did not have a reservation, but we lucked into seats at the bar. We'll know to book ahead moving forward, because this is a small restaurant. The space is dark and moody, with fun art. There's a second small dining area in the back. We started with the queso - their version includes burrata and crab. Who can resist that? It was excellent, although like so many places, there were just a few pieces of toasted bread served with it. My dish was an appetizer, as was my mom's, but they were more than adequate sized to eat as a meal. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Mine seemed a little salty and I am a person who likes a lot of salt. A to-go order we brought home of pork was also much appreciated by the eater. Our cocktails were good as well. The bartender provided solid service and menu insight.

La Dama is a unique find in the Walkers point area offering a very modernized spin on classic Mexican dishes. My friends and I went for dinner/ margs (definitely recommend having a reservation as it's small) and were sat in the outdoor covered patio which had a fountain and heaters creating a lovely dining experience. We had the nicest waitress who assisted in providing very helpful menu suggestions and solid descriptions of the food. I got the prickly pear- elderflower margarita which was very unique- definitely something fun and different to try. We shared the guacamole app which was SO delicious, such good flavor and comes with fresh chips. The menu itself is smaller sized with limited to no modifications allowed due to a smaller kitchen, but I tried three of their specialty tacos which did not disappoint! The birria was my absolute favorite with very tender meat and an avocado sauce on top. Overall, I would definitely recommend making a reservation here if you are looking for a more upscale modern, higher end Mexican cuisine experience

    Lamb Shank

I had the lamb shank and my friend had the pork shank. They were both great. Our server was very helpful with our dinner choices.

Great service. Love the cute outdoor patio. However the inside is very small. We opted for the guacamole and chips which was okay but the chips were very salty. Then we tried two specials: the fall stuffed poblano and the barbacoa tacos. I very much enjoyed the deconstructed barbacoa tacos! Their basic margarita was a little sweet for my liking. Their other cocktails were okay but would have liked to see more cocktails featuring tequila.

Definitely loved this cute small restaurant (crazy water location). Absolutely loved my Mexican lollipop cocktail, the guac, and the shrimp appetizer. My tuna taco was outstanding. However salty chips and beef and uber spicy shrimp tacos. Lots of spice here. Which should be expected. But not for the faint of heart. The hostess was lovely.

I loved the variety of the menu, especially the vegetarian options, which are hard to come by in a lot of Mexican restaurants. In the past few years since I've moved back to Milwaukee, I've eaten at this location several times. It's about 6 blocks from my house and I still find veggie Mexican options to be rarer than I'd like. Generally the food is good, if no longer great. I wonder if their expansion and success has spread them thin over the years. Sometimes the service is good, sometimes it's like an afterthought. I've also ordered delivery from them many times and it's been generally fine, but not often great. Tonight I ordered delivery, paid extra for expedited service, and I really just wanted some good cheese and onion enchiladas. The delivery time was quick. Despite that, my food was cold. My black beans - literally cold. The cheese enchiladas - um, the cheese on top wasn't even melted. The rice had no flavor at all, like it could have literally been plain white, tepid rice. So I don't know what is going on at Cafe Corazon, but it's just not good anymore and that makes me really sad.

And don't forget to take a tour of one of this country's most beautiful cathedrals. Right there by Don Luchos. You can eat here. Lots of long communal tables so don't be shy. Prices aren't cheap but this is quality. I usually get a pound or so of carnitas. They measure it out, it's steaming, and ask if you want it chopped. I say yes. It's wrapped up tightly and it will feed you all weekend. This meat is freaking amazing!!!! I pray they haven't run out of homemade tortillas, but like I said, you gotta come EARLY. Sigh.
