I showed him the original receipt from 1988 as well as the recent appraisal. He walked away to look at the ring and came back and told me it was a lab created diamond so would offer me a few hundred for the gold. I declined this offer and went back to the jeweler that did the appraisal and he stood by his appraisal that it was a genuine diamond and took it on consignment for thousands of $$ not a couple hundred $$.
