A not-so-hidden gem located near many hotels in the area. The small menu is a mix of flavors all across the Mediterranean. I started with a dish called 'Brick a l'oeuf' which is a Tunisian dish of fan shaped crispy phyllo, encasing cheese herbed with runny egg. This was served with a tomato Cucumber salad. The next dish was a combination of giant grilled, marinated prawns and eggplant caponata (the owner described as Mediterranean and Sicilian)
My Mom had a flavorful vegetarian Egyptian dish that included a lentil salad, topped with intensely seasoned chic pea patties (think falafel dialed up to 9) with vegetables and boiled egg.
There was a selection of local beers and wine, but I personally preferred the Moroccan mint tea.
Definitely worth a stop in the area! read more
