La Croisette was such a cute way to kick off our beach day! It has that comforting breakfast/brunch feel with a French cuisine touch. There was no wait for the patio when we arrived, so we grabbed a table outside and got to enjoy the weather. I ordered the croissant sandwich with pastrami, based on our waitress's recommendation, and it was delicious! Our food did take a while to come out, however, and we noticed people that arrived the same time as us or later, finishing their meals before we even got ours. It's got that classic Southern diner vibe with a little French flair mixed in. I went with the Meat Lovers Omelette, packed with sausage, bacon, ham, and cheddar cheese. Added a side of bacon and, of course, had to try their croissant. Rounded everything out with some fresh fruit and a cortado. Since La Croisette, a charming French restaurant, was just a short walk from where we stayed in St. Pete Beach, we decided to have breakfast there one morning. It turned out to be a fun and unique experience. We arrived around 9:00 a.m. and were seated immediately without a reservation or any wait. The restaurant was already very busy, and it seemed like many of the customers were locals, which is always a good sign. I ordered the Chop Sirloin & Eggs ($16.85) with a fruit cup (+$2.50) and a homemade croissant (+$2.50) as substitutions. Everything was delicious. It was my first time having scrambled eggs with Swiss cheese, and I really enjoyed the combination. The homemade French-style croissant was especially fresh, flaky, and buttery, and was one of the highlights of the meal. The service was excellent. Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made breakfast even more enjoyable. After dealing with the stress of traveling, the flight, and adjusting to Florida's hot and humid weather, this relaxing breakfast was the moment when I finally felt like I was truly on vacation. For this outing I tried the Paris Express which consisted of two eggs of your choice, I added another, making three over easy eggs over their well seasoned potatoes, shredded ham and Swiss cheese. It usually comes with toast but I got a biscuit with a side of sausage gravy. This meal was exactly what I needed for breakfast. Eggs were perfect, the seasoning on the potatoes was perfect and all the flavor from the ham Swiss cheese and hollandaise sauce was perfect. Literally some of the best hollandaise I've had, and the biscuit and sausage gravy was a perfect compliment. Christie my server was very helpful, let me know this place had been around for 13 years and gave good quality service. Even the manager Dana was very personable and made the experience worth my drive from Tampa. Unfortunately, the food did fall a little short of the hype. I will say the service was excellent. It's a nice little beach restaurant, a little cramped inside with some outside seating. The breakfast croissant sandwich with grits was average at best. My Spanish Omelette was dry and the peppers were really undercooked. Mushrooms were almost nonexistent. The most biggest disappointment were the sausage patties- incredibly dry and gritty. Overall 3 stars- two except for the excellent service. Maybe lunch is better? I selected this restaurant to celebrate my 52nd birthday because they had quiche on the menu and I do not regret it one bit. I would totally recommend this restaurant if you wanna have the best quiche Lorraine in Florida. We heard many good reviews of La Croisette, especially from a French born woman who worked down the street from it! We went for a late breakfast/brunch and were not disappointed. My wife had the French crêpe with bananas and chocolate, and an egg on the side for protein. I had heard wonderful things about their croissant French toast. So I ordered it and again it was fantastic. I got some sausage along the side. They do have Texas toast style French toast too, and cinnamon bun French toast! We sat outside under the canopy and the atmosphere was fantastic. They are only open for breakfast until 2. We may go back this week while we're in St Pete Beach. My two eggs arrived, hard scrambled unseasoned, and very flavorless. The home fries look like they were deep-fried from a bag. They were the square cut pieces of potato that were uninviting. I put hot sauce and ketchup on them along with some salt, and they were edible. But here's my bitch, what's with the one slice of toast when this breakfast is $9.00?!!!! Anywhere in the world you go for breakfast you get two slices of toast. Is this place too bougie to give me two pieces of toast? Legitimately, if you're looking for a great breakfast place where the breakfast is outstanding, staff is obscenely nice, and the owner walks around like she owns the place, you need to try this restaurant. Actually, the owner walks around checking on everyone to make sure they're happy. For real, my domestic overlord and I drove almost 20 miles to get here again and it was worth it. Definitely try the croissant French toast. It will like, make you question what you've been eating your whole life. It's ridiculously good. Even the omelettes and regular eggs and bacon are really good. Not that we tried all 3 in the same sitting. Actually we did but that's because we weren't going to eat the rest of the day and if you must know, I shop in the husky section of men's wear so it was worth it. La Croisette is conveniently located right on Gulf Blvd. It can not be missed with its pink exterior, bright blue canopy and checkered floor outdoor seating. It has parking in the back. We chose a nice table, corner window. Our server greeted us immediatly, offered me cofffe, "yes, please" My husband is the king of apple juice. The menu has plenty of offerings. Eggs in any form, scrambled, omelettes, benedict, even quiche. They also offer breakfast burritos, pancakes and waffles. But croissants are king here. Not toast. They serve drinks of all kinds, juices, coffee, hot tea, iced tean, milk, hot chocolate milk and milk. They also serve cocktails, mimosas, bloody marys, etc. And although, not on the menu they also offer specialty coffees like mocha lattes. We ordered, I got the croissant sandwich, which is two eggs scrambled with anything you want, ham, veggies & cheese, in between sliced croissant. My husband went with home fries, scrambled eggs with cheese and croissant as his "toast". The food is ok. The positive, big portions for the price. I like to feel full and satisfied. The food was hot. Negative, the eggs were a little to over done for me, but maybe I should have specified. The home fries were nice and crispy, loved the big chunks of onions, peppers and mushrooms. The croissant lacked flakiness and flavor. They were so bland. I doubt they are made in house, which is not a big deal, but wherever they get it from, they reheat in the microwave. This is the cutest little modern style French inspired beachside diner. They open super early so perfect for the early birds. They serve the typical diner breakfast fare & some lunch items but they close super early also. It's a very popular place with the locals as we saw the same people every morning. The one thing I did find on the menu that I did LOVE is the traditional Green salad with grilled chicken. The "JOAN OF ARC" or "salade de poulet" w/choice of dressing (oil & vinegar pictured) was perfectly seasoned on top of super fresh greens/veggies. It comes with your choice of dressing, moi got oil & vinegar, then, balsamic vinaigrette. You def want the balsamic vinaigrette.
