I nice coffee shop in a really cute location in " downtown" St Albert. It was a beautiful day so I decided to sit on their patio in the sun and have a coffee before my appointment There have a big selection on cold and hot drinks as well as treats and food. The menu includes salads, soups and sandwiches. I was also happy to see they have different milk alternatives. I ordered a reg decaf toffee oat latte. I be reminded the lady that I wanted decaf. When it arrive it was definitely a large and piping hot!! It was so hot that I could drink it in the 25 minute window before my appointment. I enjoyed it on my way home but then a couple hours later realized it was definitely NOT decaf . Not good.

Sunday Brunch Buffet price has increased to $14.95 from $13.95. Not really a big increase, but worth an update none the less. I did notice on my most recent visit that they did not have homemade granola out. It may have been an oversight or perhaps they do not make that anymore?

Calabrese Panini

First time ordering from La Crema Caffe! The Calabrese panini was tasty as well as the cinnamon bun. I ordered over the thanksgiving weekend, and they gave me a free ginger cookie with a cute note :) I will definitely check them out in person once dine in is back!

This is a cozy little cafe in St. Albert. I discovered it by chance, and I now whenever I come to St. Albert to watch a movie at Grandin Theatre, I make sure to stop by this little cafe. La Crema serves coffee, Italian sodas, alcoholic drinks (mostly beer and wine), as well as grilled paninis, soups and lots of yummy baked goods such as pies, cakes and cookies. There are even gluten-free foods available. The location of this coffee house is discrete; the place feels cozy, so it's no surprise that is gets extremely busy. Even when it is, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it's easy to spend several hours here without even noticing. Both food and coffee are excellent. What makes this place even more charming is that from time to time it hosts live performance nights. I had a chance to see a wonderful young guitarist perform 70s/80s songs. Service is fast and hassle free.

Very roomy if you're looking for a place to study. The drinks they had were good and the music wasn't too distracting. Really cute spot.

Great prices and I love the gluten free menu. Their gluten free dessert squares are awesome! Especially the white chocolate rasberry one.

We got the tomato, mushroom and brie bruschetta. Mushroom one had goat cheese which I dislike but other table mates said was delicious. Tomato one was good. Brie was my favorite. Not easy to share with the table which made it very awkward and not everyone got to try some. You can cut them into about 3 pieces which still left 1 of us not being able to try it. I got the Spaghetti Carbonara: 9/10. Very good, pasta was cooked well, there was enough sauce. Good flavor. Boyfriend got the special which was cheese stuffed ravioli in rose sauce - 10/10. Loved that it comes with extra protein (chicken). Friend got Veal Scaloppine: very garlic-y. Friends said she would not get again. But very generous portion of vegetables - broccolini, peppers, carrots. And the half of a baked potato came with cheese baked on top which looked amazing. Friend got the lasagna and loved it, reports it is not spicy and has a lot of meat (ground) in it. They brought over a free chocolate mousse dessert with a sparkler as well. Overall very nice pasta place.

I called and was quoted 22min which I thought was quite long but it took me that long to get there anyway. There was lots of 2 hour street parking available. Very nice decor inside - fancy, classy, romantic would be how I would describe the decor. The restaurant was completely empty at 5PM although they did just open at 4:30PM. My order was ready when I arrived (20min later). I got the Arancini appetizer, Gnocchi entree, and Tartufo (choc + raspberry ice cream) dessert all for ~$40. The food survived the 11 minute drive home (even the ice cream). The Arancini was delicious - like a deep-fried risotto ball should be. I liked that it came with a touch of tomato sauce which gave it a nice acidic kick. The gnocchi were larger than I expected and therefore hard to eat in 1 bite so I had to try to cut each one before eating. Not the best I have ever had. I got it with the rose sauce which was nice but nothing special. Creamy but not a lot of flavour. The tartufo was promising - like a black forest cake but ice cream style. Too bad it had such a miniscule amount of raspberry. 95% chocolate ice cream; which was good chocolate ice cream for sure but not enough acidic to balance out all the sweet for me. Place and menu look great and promising but unfortunately, I was underwhelmed for the price and can't see myself back anytime soon.

It wasn't very full on such a yucky evening, so it was a great place to enjoy some conversation. When you book your reservation, you are reminded of the time limit on the table. However, on this night, we stayed much longer than the time allotted. This is a traditional Italian restaurant with sophisticated dishes meant to be shared. We went with two pasta dishes - the paccheri which contained 'nduja, tomato, mascarpone, mint and ricotta salata, and the gnocchi di polenta which contained black truffle butter, local spinach , and parmigiano. We also tried the lamb chops which made topped the 100 top things to eat from the Tomato and the whipped ricotta cheese and house bread which was fantastic. They also have a wonderful wine selection. Our server was amazing probably the best one I have encountered for a long time. She was thorough, helpful, and charming. She definitely deserved a gold star and a good tip. Definitely check this place out. I know I will again!

Always a great experience eating w the Corso group. The new Rita, opened in the old Uccellino…read morespace is beautifully reimagined. The tall brutalist cement benches are gone and replaced w cushioned benches and chairs reminiscent of the 60's. Clean and functional. The walls are now a muted terra cotta colour and the sound is much better modulated by the panelling. Gone is the private room for a more practical open second floor w a wall unit now on the stair side as a storage and partition. The main floor has more cozy tables signifying a more casual restaurant. The food is anything but casual. Made for sharing, so like your dinner companions, on 2 separate occasions went as a couple and a group of 5. The Siciliano bread w house made ricotta is excellent. The bread is crusty and airy. Soft crumb and the right amount of salt in the crust. We had a prawn appetizer. So delicious and the Prawns Diavolo were of excellent quality. The lamb appetizer provides 5 pieces cooked to perfection w a lovely sauce. The chicken wings Pollo Spiedino were done well and crispy on skewers. The gnocchi di polenta w black truffle was excellent. The polenta makes it a little less cloud like but delicious, nonetheless. The ravioli was so fresh and light - the whole plate disappeared in a flash. The paccheri here is spicy and a favourite. The real star if the Domenica served w ziti as the e noodle in a light ragu. The meat - beef (both brisket and rib) pork meatball and fennel sausage was fall off the bone and browned well. Even for four, it was generous. Desserts we tried were the sorbeto which this month is BC nectarine flavour w a lightly salted cream to cut the sweetness. The chocolate mousse was a layered masterpiece of mousse and cream, powdered w chocolate and chocolate crystals. Really an excellent dessert. Great for date night and even better w a group to share more plates. Corso does it again!

Place has "very fancy" feel and would be good for special events/celebration dinners. Free bread to start was fine but not the best I have had. I prefer mine with butter but the oil/vinegar is probably more typical. We tried the: Calamari: 10/10, great texture, loved that we got 2 sauces to dip in. Fettuccine Tavolino (cheese wheel pasta): 10/10. Boyfriend was not too full after. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Nice cheesy creamy flavor. Ravioli Alla Zucca: 9/10, I can't remember if there were 6 or 7 ravioli in the dish. Very pleasing presentation. In my opinion too many sundried tomatoes. I love that it comes with sundried tomatoes as that added some great tang/flavor. Ravioli themselves were perfectly cooked. Brown butter sauce was excellent and wanted more. Creme Brule: 9/10, exactly as expected, definitely enough to share between 2 people. Affogato: vanilla gelato was 11/10 good to me but boyfriend didn't like the flavor. We both agree the espresso was excellent. Very small portion (too small to share!). Free cookies at the end were fine. Overall food was excellent and I'll be back but to try something different on the menu.

Violino, in an old home, its staff, and the food exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be making a reservation the next time we visit the Oilers hometown. Damn that was good! Ushered upstairs, didn't really get a chance to take it in, so will be sure to stop and look around next time. The complimentary bread was great, the martini's good although one glass had far more than the other. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and although quite different from what we make at home, was excellent! K had the Alfredo flambé which was fired up tableside. It seems to be a popular option as it happened 6 or 7 times while we dined. They also don't soak you for the privilege of the tableside presentation. It was a little cheesy for K, but excellent nonetheless. Our server Eugenia from Hamburg was excellent, she can serve us anytime. She was attentive, and her timing was exceptional! We plan on making a reservation the next time we are in Edmonton. Top notch experience!
