Super grateful that there was this small cozy and clean library around!! Want to also appreciate that they were open exactly on time!! I've had experiences with public libraries where they DELAY in opening their doors despite scheduled hours. Spending my summer vacations in the 90s here is one of my fondest memories…read more I came back recently after too long a hiatus from reading and the nostalgic feeling I got from entering gave me an extra thrill to delve back into the different worlds found in books. The librarians I encountered were incredibly helpful and was patient with me as the library world has changed a bit for me. The library itself was clean and orderly. I'm excited to spend more time combing the shelves and taking a step away from doom scrolling.

The library still feels a little on the old school side (the computers could be better updated) Outdoor: Parking is ample. It's right next to a park. It's also right by a major street (Del Amo) so you gotta keep an eye on your little ones when outside. Staff: The staff is fantastic, friendly, welcoming, and they remember you! This makes a difference. Children's area: The library is small but the kids area is nice and big for how small the library is. There are open ended toys and a little floor area to read. There's a sizable kids Spanish books area, which is what we normally go for. Programs: My daughter is in preschool 3x a week so it's hard to make it to the toddler reading times. However, we participated during the summer and it was great. She also participated in the reading program where she could get prizes and she loved that! The reading time usually includes reading, music/dancing, and a craft/art time. The app is super useful and really easy to use. If I forget our library card, I can just use the app. Did I mention how friendly the staff is?!

The staff member was very helpful, provided all information we needed, and we were in and out of there in probably 12 or 15 minutes. Five stars on the process! For the library itself, it is a small library with almost no one in there. We didn't take a good look around, but it may be one of the smallest L.A. libraries I've seen, and I'm sure the selection is very limited. The folks that were there were mainly much older, or kids. There did seem to be a small event (perhaps arts and crafts?) in one of the rooms behind the front desk for the kids. But, overall, it was a very quiet and unoccupied library. An update would maybe help, as well, but I don't know if that'll be a priority for the city/county. Likely won't be back, but that's mainly because I can use the library card for e-resources. But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. So there is just a lot of activities that you can get involved with.

Much better than the t shirts they used to give away. This is a great tournament to begin your competition journey. Sometimes you get some competitors from Jiujitsu World League and IBJjF here, which means you get to compete against them at a fraction of the cost compared to other tournaments. If you are one of the first 100 people to register, you can do gi and nogi for 79.99 total. That can't be beat as other tournaments cost over a hundred for one division. Spectator fee is $12 on line and $15 at the door. They don't accept cash. Definitely recommend.

Star loss because I am used to the Norwalk courthouse that has a larger "corral" for us potential jurors and has many more little cubicles for people to still do work. This jury farm room has but two library-esque tables and that's it. Free Wi-Fi but it runs super slow. No cafeteria, just vending machines and you go through a security scan at entrance. If you are here for jury duty, bring stuff with you to do. This room has nothing but chairs like a mini theater without the main feature and the tables I mentioned. Food in the area? (This is still Yelp, right??) I am going to try that Koo-Koo grill place and if I am here longer, naturally a trip to Taco Nazo is warranted which never disappoints. If you still read printed media or would like second hand books, this may be the place to go to. The only other Book Off I've been to that is inside a mall is I believe the Del Amo Fashion Mall. This one is a bit more organized at the very least. The biggest W, I've ever gotten were rare, affordable visual novel series items from the one in Riverside, but for the anime section for here, it's not the best. There are some rare goods, like a Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun figure, but the prices are a bit atrocious. For example, an FGO Abigail Williams prize figure that goes for around $30, NO SHIPPING COST, went for $80. It's not even that rare or old of a figure, it just came out around a year ago. This is also my issue with the Anime Lab one in Little Tokyo. As well, as the anime section itself not being the most organized, aka the miscellaneous section and things on the shelves. Can never be my GOAT, Eco Town. Maybe there are gems there, but you definitely need to research prices, know what you want and how rare an item is, etc. The workers were busy helping customers and doing exchanges, so I didn't really get a chance to interact with them.
