The conchas are amazing, and try the cafe de olla to round out the experience. Very friendly service too.

The food is always delicious, and was one of my go-to spots when I want to introduce friends to something a little different. I especially loved dining on the patio when I bring my dog along. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing, and perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors. What kept me coming back, though, is the staff. They are incredibly kind and always make me feel welcome. It's such a nice feeling to be greeted warmly and recognized as a returning guest. I've even celebrated my birthday here, which says a lot about how much I enjoy this place. As a bonus, there's a vintage thrift shop upstairs that I always love browsing before or after my meal. It adds even more charm to the experience and makes every visit feel a little special. I highly recommend the pasta, it's absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a charming local spot with great food, friendly service, and a unique atmosphere, Birdie Bistro is definitely worth a visit.

I have been wanting to go to La Casa de la Abuela (Grandma's House) for a long time. Friends of…read moremine have raved about how good the food is. Well, they were right. La Casa de la Abuela covers every category for a delightful breakfast, brunch or lunch: a menu with great variety, quality delicious food, excellent service, a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere, good parking and a great location. My friend had the enchiladas suizas. I ordered the chilaquiles rojas con pollo. The menu warned that the salsa roja is spicy... and they are right. I like spicy, and this gave me the hiccups! Not to worry, they have several options, including mild ones. I was impressed with their molcajete of guacamole, the refreshing strawberry lemonade, the classy presentation of each dish. I almost ordered the chile relleno or the torta ahogada. I learned they make their own birote (a denser kind of bread roll) for the torta ahogadas, which is key for that dish hailing from Jalisco, which is smothered in salsa prior to serving. Everything I saw was spotless, elegant, and beautifully decorated. It's a new fave, and I will go back. When I do, I want to try one of their pastries: conchas, chocolate or strawberries and cream filled croissants, and more. This was a great place for a meet-up with a good friend. It would also be great for a date with my wife, a business lunch, or small groups. The dining room is not very big, so large groups would need to find another option. I highly recommend, Grandma's House!

I was disappointed with my experience at La Casa de La Abuela. From the moment we arrived, the…read moreservice was very slow. It took a long time to be seated, and after we were seated, it was quite a while before our waiter even came to take our drink order. The food also took much longer than expected to arrive. Unfortunately, the food itself was not worth the wait. My entire plate was completely smothered in chipotle sauce, to the point that I couldn't even see the rice or vegetables underneath. The overwhelming amount of sauce made it difficult to enjoy the meal. The prices are also higher than I expected for the quality and service. Drinks cost $6.50 each and don't include free refills, which felt excessive. To make matters worse, the booth seating was very uncomfortable. The table supports underneath the table left very little legroom, making it difficult to sit comfortably throughout the meal. Overall, between the slow service, disappointing food, high prices, and uncomfortable seating, this was not a good dining experience, and I don't plan to return.

I'm a huge migas fan and never thought to try chilaquiles. This place did not disappoint. I added eggs, chorizo and avocado with half green and half red sauce. I was surprised to get each adding in an individual stack. I managed to get my egg yolk over the avocado and chorizo. The food was really good, just not what I expected. The flautas de papa were a great buy. Instead of using a corn or flour tortilla to mop up my plate, I was able to use the flauta and with the papa in it, they were like little sponges soaking up all the leftovers

My favorite is the Tacos Llorarás (you will cry taco) which features a handmade corn tortillas stuffed with a chile relleno made of jalapeño and cream cheese, plus a flavorful beef birria.
