Amazing food is so flavorful. Recommended by a friend and it has surpassed my expectations. Greeted right away so service was perfect. And the ambiance is relaxing and with the aromas in the air feels like home.

i wasn't gonna make a review about the bad service i had at this place but then when i went to eat the other half of my torta the next day, i almost broke a tooth on this hard, pointy, thick piece of wood, not sure what it was. we sat inside, both of our tortas arrived missing multiple toppings it said it would come with on the menu. we requested a few things like limes, bottled water, etc. multiple times and it never came. i asked the man for a to-go cup for my soup, he never returned with it and just threw my soup in the trash so i had to ask for a new one. the only good side was the meat was tender and fresh, the complimentary soup was good but because service was poor, i wouldn't return. i already didn't mind waiting hours just to be seated, get my order taken, pay the check and ask for my missing food/ toppings multiple times because i knew staff was busy. i only decided to finally leave a review after almost breaking a tooth, it's really dangerous.

    Cafe De Olla Chilaquiles

The place is incredible. We came in while working close by and let the chef choose what we had for breakfast/ lunch which I believe was the owners son. He recommended the Chilaquiles with barbacoa and he insisted on Cafe de Olla. My new favorite in Chicago, I'll be bringing my family back soon. Thank you.

Lengua and pastor tacos with all different spicy level options.

Came here with an empty tank, after trying their food I could not comprehend everything I thought I knew about Mexican cuisine was just surface level, their customer service was not just excellent but felt intimate, almost like eating with friends and family Miguel and the cook made sure we were treated right, el caldo was excellent, only 10 minutes away from closing didn't even stop these gentlemen from delivering the best lengua and asada tacos me and my friend ever had! Good news people from Chicago: you don't have to take a flight to get the best Mexican cuisine ambiance and experience! Came from Arlington Virginia and will definitely drive 12 hours again just to feel this way again!

Wow!!! I am telling all my friends about La Cocina De Irma. The food was so delicious! Are you kidding me?! So good. The staff were so friendly and had great recommendations for us!!! When you walk in, the restaurant is warm and welcoming, you're literally stepping into Irma's kitchen! The food was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My tacos were so tender and all of the salsas accompanied them perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken torta which was just as good and cooked perfectly. We also ordered Jamaica and horchata to drink and they both hit the spot. We visited Cocina de Irma after completing a 5k and 10k run and we came starving. Everything we ordered filled our hunger and every bite was seriously so good. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food you receive and like I mentioned, everything tasted spectacular. Extra kudos for the papas on the house. Also thanks for the bowl of limes! A lot of restaraunts will only give you one or two but we received a bowl which was extremely appreciated. It's the little things, you know? Thank you Irma and your family for being so nice to us we really felt so welcomed. The reviews speak for themselves when I say this place deserves all the hype. They are what every restaurant should strive to be and they hit everything out of the ballpark. I can't wait to go back!

The food was just like taking you back to your mom's house! Just really delicious and the attention and Service Miguel gives you is going above and beyond beside that he's my Tocayo from Chihuahua. The cozy little spot and they make you feel right at home!!!

I was on my way to the Mexican museum and thought I get a bite to eat. I searched on Yelp for suggestions and this place was recommended. I read a few reviews and was convinced they would satisfy my appetite. The outside is colorful and inviting. Upon entering a nice lady stated to me + guest in Spanish to have a seat wherever we choose; found out later she was Irma the owner. We were served by Miguel who was truly a 1 man show...a co-owner, cook, server, comedian, salesman. He was very passionate about his menu, sauces. Miguel is worth the visit alone. You are given a pasta soup which was good. Me + guest ordered the birria tacos....yummy! They were fresh, hot, delicious. Normally I don't eat refried beans but theirs was soft, flavorful and not salty. Rice was just right. I also tried the barracoa taco which fire!!! The horchata was refreshing. The decor was nice and clean. I will definitely be back. Thanks Mr. Miguel for a great 1st time visit.

The place is small with a hard time to walk around when it's full. It's a nice bar restaurant and didn't realized until we were leaving that there's a back area. (inquire about the 4% service charge added) No rice or beans with any of my parties' dishes, not sure if that is an option. Time to be seated was less than five minutes for a party of four around 2:20 PM on a Sunday; busier times or days enforce their 90 minute time limit policy per table. The food was well seasoned, wish I tasted it a little more on the meat itself, yet all the vegetables tasted crisp and fresh. If you are looking to have intimate conversations be prepared to speak a lot louder, the DJ booth by the front keeps it pretty lively, but difficult to hold conversations across the table. Open authentic Mexican soda is always refreshing, and if you're looking for a place that has soft serve margaritas this is one of them. If you notice and unusual wait time or slow service please make your choice accordingly as I started to notice it was a case by case basis like some of the previous reviews had mentioned.

I must admit that I had low expectations because quite frankly, I have not enjoyed Mexican food outside of Mexico or California. However, we were hungry, and it was near where we were staying, so I decided we should check it out, and I am so glad we did! The food was great. Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous. It is a small establishment, and it gets a good amount of people, so I assume that there are waits during peak hours. I highly recommend Sabroso! And we plan to return the next time we are in the area.
