November 9th, 2024 8:45PM…read more Wow, if it's good enough for Zhang Ziyi, it's good enough for me. After a week in Florence, our first meal back in Rome was definitely feeling rice-y. This place was nearby the hotel we were staying at and the pictures looked so good. Well, it was very tasty, one of my favorite Chinese food, they did such a good job with all the items we ordered. Hot and sour soup - on point, we got a small one to share between the two of us, lots of ingredients and super delicious. We ordered a pork belly stew pot, fried rice, fried pork intestines with green onions, grilled beef skewers, and stir fry water grass. Everything was what you'd imagined you'd get in Asia... When we got here late evening, it was nice to see many Asian customers dining in. Definitely a really nice spot for Chinese food if you want to switch it up after many days of pastas!

I got the braised tofu with steamed rice. It was delicious. Many seating available. Cozy environment. Looks like there were celebrities that had dined in, in the past. They had photos of them up everywhere. Overall great experience. If you're craving Chinese food, give it a try! Definitely recommend :)

Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, I'd have to give this restaurant relatively high marks on a number of fronts. First off, they speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Italian from the best that I could hear." The fact that they spoke Cantonese put me more at ease since I knew they would understand some of the dishes that I was trying to order. I do not speak Chinese but someone in our party did. Secondly, the Beef Chow Fun was pretty good and had "Ho Wok Hay" (which translates to "good taste of the wok"). Wok Hay is a slightly burnt flavor from the wok that gives a dish a high degree of flavor. Not too many restaurants have this and this is a mark of a legit Chinese restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this in Rome. We also ordered the Chicken in Picante sauce which was very tasty, and roast duck and spareribs in black bean sauce both of which were ok. We also had the house soup at the waitress' suggestion (probably because she knew we appreciated authentic Cantonese cuisine) and Chinese greens. The portions were fair and the prices not too cheap or expensive. I was just glad to get good quality Chinese (Cantonese food in Rome). The restaurant is simple and looked reasonably clean, the staff was friendly but a little hurried as they had a fair amount of takeaway orders. We will be here for a couple more days and will likely be returning.

Portions are small matching the price. Service is friendly and eager to please. Hot sauce tastes like sambaal with chili oil. They close from 3-5 which is typical in Rome. Practically across the street from Termini Station. We saw plenty of Koreans and Filipinos enjoying their food as well. No non Asians in sight so it's authentic. The XLB are not even close to DTF and have no real soup/broth inside so please do not compare the two. I would revisit Yami for no frills Chinese food in a heartbeat. As we are American, our service was very slow compared to the two other tables who were constantly cared for, not sure if that's why but it was a bummer. The food was fine, maybe a little bland but it was filling and met the need well enough. This place does not say Yami out front so mild challenge finding it. Also it's good to note that if you want certain sizes of drink you'll have to ask for that, as well they are cash only! Overall it was a decent experience!
