This is a very mixed review. We went there for a Chinese meal on our last night in Italy, and were cordially greeted by an English-speaking waitress, and seated at a table for two in a large dining room. Our order was quickly taken, and the wanton soup 1st course was good, and there was plenty of it - more than enough. The Eggplant dish (hot and sweet) was served while we were eating our soup. It was exceptionally good, and the highlight of the meal. The steamed rice we ordered with the eggplant did not arrive, and the waitress had to be flagged down and reminded of the order, as well as the order for sweet and sour pork. We were nearly done with the eggplant before the rice arrived. Eventually, the pork dish arrived, and was a disappointment - gristly chunks of fat in a bland sauce.
Although not the fault of the staff, the room had two other tables, one with screaming children, running around and playing, and the other with several adult couples, the male partners shouting at each other, apparently in a political debate, well lubricated with multiple bottles of wine. We noted that the other tables were served quickly, while we sat and grew tired of waiting. A suggestion to the management would be to seat adult couples away from, not between, large groups.
In summary - some excellent food, some not-so-good; service appeared to be favoring "regular" customers over "foreigners;" unpleasantly noisy and disruptive atmosphere. The eggplant was worth the trip, and is the major support for the third star. read more
