On a Saturday evening around 9pm we arrived to this restaurant with a craving for Asian food, having only eaten Italian food for the past week. The proprietor was friendly and seated us right away, providing us menus. They serve a large variety dishes, notably focused on western Chinese cuisine.
We ordered:
- Steamed dumplings €6 for 6pcs: ok, decent savory filling, average bun, though a steal for the price.
- Cold potato noodles €7.00: good though not particularly standout, everything was fresh, slight chewy on the noodles, and crunch to the cucumbers and peanuts. Was nice to have a cold dish to accompany the hot ones. We asked for mild not knowing how spicy the food would be and I would probably ask for medium next time.
- Chinese cabbage and tofu soup (large) €9.00: another great value for the price. Loved that this was homey and comforting, a bunch of veggies with tofu, not over-salted which I appreciated.
- Stewed beef with white radish €14.00: one of my ultimate Chinese comfort foods, a good braised/stewed beef is like snuggling in a warm blanket and this brought me that sensation while traveling thousands of miles from home. Tender beef and radish, again not too salty which I was glad for. Perfect to eat over rice.
If I were in Rome next time would definitely consider coming back, and also ordering some of their western-Chinese-style dishes. Thanks for a wonderful meal!
