Tried this place this morning and it was delicious. I had the menudo rojo con todo and it didn't disappoint. Very flavorful and satisfying. You also get the option of tortillas or bread. Had a nice cold beer to go along with the meal. The customer service was amazing as well. The place is small and gets packed fast. So definitely come early and enjoy your meal. Love, calling ahead and picking up Menudo from this place. You get the choice of it being white or red and you can add harmony or not. The choice is yours. This place is always packed because it has been open for decades and it hits home every time Michael. This was our alternative when mom didn't feel like cooking so it should tell you the authenticity of their food. Don't go here for the customer service, it's not their forte, but they try their best. My husband had the agua chiles . He said they were really good but a little spicy . My parents love to come here they had the menudo they have white traditional from Nayarit and also red ! Went to La Choza on the recommendation of an acquaintance. My hubby ordered the Menudo, which seemed to be a customer's favorite. It looked like there was at least 1 bowl ordered at every table. I tasted it and found it lacked flavor and was a bit too watery for me. My hubby said it was ok. I ordered the cheese enchiladas which are served with rice and pureed beans. This plate was flavorful; however, it was all cotija cheese inside the enchilada and out. Cotija cheese does not melt...I was not expecting that kind of cheese inside my enchiladas. Then more cotija cheese on top...too much! The rice was delicious and so were the beans except for the fact that they were too watery (over pureed). They plate comes with 4 enchiladas which is very generous. They don't have fountain drinks, only bottled soda or aguas frescas, Jamaica and one other one. My hubby ordered the Jamaica and it was served in a very large mug which was nice because you really don't need a refill. BTW there are no refills. The service was very good. The server was nice and very attentive. Would I return? Probably not. The place is super small, so if you have a group over 4 there really isn't much space to accommodate you. We were 6, so they added a small table to a booth, which was ok but it felt crowded. (Shhhh , I like Ely's better). read more

La choza is the type of place you come to on the weekend for that menudo, birria or seafood to sweat out your hangover from the day before, that being said, the restaurant is a little small but the service is very quick and consistent. The girls there are always on top of the tables to make the flow easy, quick in, quick out. There's always a line at the door. The food is very delicious and authentic. I love the flavors here. Heard about La Choza from a friend, claims it's the best menudo in town. It is very small inside if you want to dine in. I waited for 20 minutes before being sat. I knew what I was there for so I ordered right away. The menudo was good but it was a bit greasy. The flavor was good but it did need some lime to cut a bit of the saltiness of the menudo. I placed a takeout order at this Eastern Avenue location and was disappointed with the service. When I went to pick up my food, I asked for salsa and was told that it cost extra. It seems unreasonable to charge for salsa, which is a standard accompaniment to the food. Policies like this, and the interaction regarding it, really take away from the overall experience. I'll probably think twice before ordering from here again. ​Here is a draft of a complaint for management: ​Dear Manager of La Choza, ​I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the customer service I received during a takeout order at your 1520 N Eastern Ave location on August 9, 2026, around 6:27 PM (Order #3121). ​When I picked up my food, I asked for salsa. An employee told me that salsa was sold separately. I believe charging extra for an essential side for the food is unreasonable and unwelcoming to regular customers. ​The way this interaction was handled, with the employee simply reiterating that I had to pay, left a very negative impression. The service was prompt and the waitress was very friendly. I ordered the wet carne asada burrito and it was quite good. They offered red or green salsa with the burrito and I chose the red. It had really nice flavor and packed some heat. They had a great menu with a lot of selections that had pictures of the menu items that looked very good. The price point for the food was very reasonable. The ambiance was clean but keep in mind that this is in an older part of Las Vegas so don't go in with high expectations if you're looking for ambiance. The food is not authentic and does not taste as good as people have been raving about. The person who took my order got it wrong and added maíz to my menudo which I did not appreciate. I've been hearing that this place is one of the best places to get menudo. I'm here to tell you it isn't. Came in on a Sunday morning.. you know why lol . It is a small place but they move quick to get you in. We waited for maybe 10 minutes and then got seated. Sat down and ordered the rojo menudo. I was tempted to try the white one but decided to play it safe this time around. It had a good amount of tripe and some sizable grains in it. It was served with fresh oregano, jalapeños , onions and tortillas on the side. You can also order bread if you prefer that over tortillas. Well know for their menudo, my spouse was very happy. They got the white menudo. My son got the cheese and chicken enchilada and he liked it. YET, the burrito with beans, rice, cheese, and carne asada with red sauce on top was, without question, the worst burrito I have ever had! Way too much garlic, carne asada looked and tasted like it was meant for my dog, and the rice was mushy and overcooked. I could not even finish half of it. It was completely unappetizing. It was bad enough to cause the rating for a three star because of how terrible it was. I have my spouse, who is Mexican, also taste it, and they agreed that it wasn't good. So, if you want, Menudo, it would get 4 to 5 stars. If you want enchiladas, it will get 4 to 5 stars, but the burrito is a one star and I would never consider ordering it again. Very unfortunate. The restaurant is very simple and not fancy at all, just no nonsense. Prices are reasonable. Service was the best part as very friendly. This place is busy, and despite its lower overall rating, it was full and it's clear that it has a lot of patrons that really like going there. read more

Pienso y solo el chef va a saber si ase esto oh no pero usan un menudo mix que hace que le de un sabor como en cualquier otro restaurante. El menudo también es bien escandaloso de olor oh sabor depende como lo cosines oh de donde es la carne. Mi esposo pidió carne en su jugo créeme que este platillo esta bien rico. Si yo regreso aquí esto sería algo que comería de nuevo. La agua de Jamaica esta super rica también. El ambiente es bueno tienen música no muy alto si te puedes sentar a comer y platicar. This place has the best menudo in the whole city. Love that the waitress made sure we were good every so often. The place is kinda small. But the restaurant was clean.
