Steak with all the fixings
Quyisha R.

Went there just looking for something to eat and ended at this place ordered 6tacos and wet burritos at first the girl was giving us the wrong order so we swapped plates then she also gave us the wrong burritos bout time i realized it he had already eaten half and the cook noticed what was going on and came then ended up making me a whole new burritos free of charge so I ended up leaving paying for two burritos and six tacos but left with three burritos and the taste was excellent

Walking into this restaurant I immediately felt the true hispanic feeling and welcome. As soon as we sat down the server brought us chips and salsa and gave us the menu to be ready to eat. The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance with music playing in the background as well as the 49ers vs Raiders game which was also very entertaining. In terms of food I ordered a Burrito Regular de Asada as well as an Agua de Horchata and both were amazing. The Burrito had a HUGE amount of meat and flavor which is very rare nowadays where the burritos are instead filled with mostly rice and beans. At this restaurant though it was the complete opposite where I was able to taste the meat in every single bite. For the Horchata I also very much enjoyed this drink and its flavor. The only thing I wish was different was that the Horchata had ice so that the drink stayed cold instead of getting warmer over time. Other than that though I really enjoyed eating here and would 100% come back and eat here :)

Horrible service Birria was not good at all!!!!! Don't ask for a michelada because they serve you only clamato.

Yummy salsa and chips.

This review is a bit mixed. I loved their chips and salsa. Loved their hand made tortillas. I ordered the molcajete but I wasn't very impressed. The meat didn't have great taste nor did the side of beans and rice. The rice was a bit dry. I'll be back to taste the birria and menudo. It didn't smell very clean and the service was awful.

I ordered chicken tacos with everything instead was given tacos without onions, sauce, or cilantro

Went here for a quick bite. I ordered some chicken tacos and waited about 40 min to receive my order. After getting home, I open the take out box only to find tortillas with chicken. Where was the onions, cilantro, and sauce at? I called the restaurant, but was told to come back to get new ones. I was tired and didn't feel like further wasting my time. They gave me the excuse that there were a lot of orders that evening and the cook made a mistake. First of all, that's not my mother effin problem whether they had many orders or not. Since when did they start making tacos without onions and cilantro? Too disappointed and hangry, I ended up eating my dry ass tacos drier than the Sahara desert. This whole experience sucked seco balls.

This place is back to it roots. They even went out of their way to make special dishes for us. Chicken salad and a shrimp dish. Tortillas where freshly made and the server was above and beyond. People line up to have their famous birria and menudo. The ambiance is exelente laúd and clear don't come here if you don't want to have a good time. I will be sharing photos of the wonderful food. Micheladas are great. They are not stingy with their chips and salsa.

I waited in line about 10 minutes and 40 more minutes passed before my number was called. I could see four people in the kitchen, one cashier. Seating is all outside. Three tables for 8, about a dozen bar seats along the patio on the street and three more tables in the parking lot. Less seating if it's raining. All three tables of 8 received their food, finished and left before my order was ready. I saw a catering order picked up too. So patience needed. Ordering ahead is the way to go. I love fresh aqua fresca and they had pineapple, jimaica, melon and horchata. I added a slice of lime to my melon and it was tasty. I ordered a quesataco birrila and it was tasty. The crispy cheese added a nice touch however it softened once steamed under the foiled plate. One of the ways I compare Mexican restaurants is by a straight up bean and cheese burrito - and unfortunately one bite was all I took of this one. The beans had a strange flavor to them, fishy almost. If I'm in the area, I'd go back for the tacos, try a keto taco with the fried cheese shell, order ahead, get another aqua fresca and skip the burritos next time, however wouldn't make a special trip.

IN THE CHIPS: Kicking things off, the Chips and Salsa are now $3.85 for an order, but they were worth the money - light and airy, and the salsa just barely had a hint of heat to it. Just perfect. (5/5) THE BEANS.. Perusing the menu, whatever plate you order, you can specify the kind of beans you want (black beans, pinto beans, refried beans). I chose the black beans, but specified "no cheese" on them in a semi-futile attempt to stay on the healthy side. =) SEAFOOD TACOS I decided on the Seafood Taco Platter, where you get one shrimp taco and a fish taco along with a big side of beans and lots of rice. Each taco comes with a double layer of corn tortillas with grilled shrimp, or fish topped by shredded cabbage drizzled with a lime aioli. Instead of deep fried, the shrimp and fish on each taco were grilled to perfection, instead of deep fried. The fish filet was diced and stir-fried with a wonderful aroma. Instead of making a mess, I decided just to eat my taco by slicing and dicing it from the plate. Super good! (5/5) One of my dining partners had the mole here a year ago and loved it, so now that he was back in town, he made this place a prime objective for his visit again to the Bay! Yeah.. I'd tend to agree.. Worth coming back.

I've only tried the pupusas here, so that is what my rating will be on…read more I ordered for pick up. The lady was straight and to the point. Okay, I'm cool with that. They said about 15 mins. The place could use a deep cleaning. It looks a bit outdated, but at the same time it looks like it's well frequented to, as well. Pickup was easy. The workers aren't very personable, which was fine since I picked up. I didn't have to leave a tip for service. Honestly, I don't remember how much I paid, but I don't remember feeling like it was too much, so I can't complain on that. I got two kinds: the cheese, chicharron and beans and the cheese and chicharron. Tbh, just the plain cheese and chicharron were my fave. They were absolutely delicious. Juicy, lots of filling, and scrumptious to the last bite. The layer of filling to that of the masa, was in my opinion, a good ratio. I will definitely go back for the pupusas and maybe try other things on their menu while I'm there.

Our go to pupusas are the Frijol y Queso (Bean and cheese) and the Queso con Loroco (Cheese and Loroco, the flowers of a climbing vine from Central America). The pupusas have heft to them but are not "heavy" and they have a great tender quality. We also get Tamales and Burritos from time to time but the Pupusas are the stars. Their Curtido has a great brightness and some heat which is a great complement to the pupusas. This is a fantastic Richmond institution that evryone should check out.

From the fresh tortillas to the tender meats, you really cannot go wrong for paying just a littleeee bit more for something you know for a fact you will enjoy!! However, the stars of the show were of course their street tacos! Carnitas, asada, al pastor, you name it. It was delicious and reminded me so much of the tacos I got when I was in Mexico.
