Always on the hunt for the best tacos, and I think we've stumbled upon the best tacos in Milwaukee!…read moreFYI - CASH ONLY. The truck itself is quite an experience with blaring house music to keep you occupied and your body groovin' while you decipher the authentic menu. They have hands down the best al pastor that I've had in the city so far, rivaling some of the al pastor tacos I had in CDMX. AND they have a trompo IN THE TRUCK. We ordered the asada alambres which came with a free mini baked potato. The tacos (you can choose from carne asada (steak), al pastor (pork), lengua (tongue), cabeza (head), tripa (tripe), chorizo, barbocoa, campechanos (steak and chorizo), and pollo (chicken) are all made to order, and you can choose cilantro and onions (yes, ALWAYS the right choice), or lettuce (that's a no for me, dawg). Everything came out PIPIN' HOT, and were still hot and not soggy as we drove it the 10 minutes home to eat. [Longest 10 minutes of my LIFE] On the ledge in front of the ordering window, there is a "salsa bar" that comes with five buckets of goodness to try: pico de gallo, pickled onions, green salsa, red salsa, and another pickled item that we didn't end up trying. The salsas were decent, but the pico de gallo and pickled onions were so simple but executed perfectly. Can I haz moar pls!? We also got the horchata which I wasn't a fan of, but these tacos were SOOOOO supreme, a mediocre horchata doesn't even move the needle. Can't wait to go back!

Mazorca Tacos is a food truck located at the Zocalo Food Truck Park. I've been here a few times,…read moreand each time I come I eat tacos, despite the fact there are other food trucks with food I will eventually try. : ) Each time I've been, there was a small line. The tacos here are full of flavor and fresh-tasting, each time I've visited. They are served on small corn tortillas. They are only about $3 each, with a vegetarian option also. I usually eat 2 or 3 but others would need more. I've tried the Al Pastor, Bistec, and the Chicken. You can grab a beer at the tavern or try one of Zocalo's offerings, such as Topo Chico or Coke in a glass bottle. Once you get your food, you grab a picnic table to eat. When I was there a few days ago, they had covered picnic tables, which can be reserved in advance. Otherwise, the tables are first come, first served. There are other food places at Zocalo to try. This is one of my go-tos for tacos. A friend was coming to visit Milwaukee form Chicago and asked me for some reasonably-priced places to eat. Guess what I recommended? This place. : )

I ordered the ground beef nachos with added cilantro and onions like usual and I'm told nacho are steak only, no ground beef. Ok I wasn't in an argumentative mood so I said sure. OMG my king of nachos was dethroned that I have been getting for years by a truck that had a really good steak burrito on my first visit. The flavors were great with slight gristle in the steak but overall the nachos were really tasty for my palette. Oh man no Yelp reviews so I kept looking because no one is talking about them but I decided to go back because I just might be missing something here. This is not a truck but a trailer that looks like it's changed hands a couple of times with signees and tape blocking parts of the trailer. It's half the size of the regular trucks but it gets the job done. I posted a picture of the menu so everyone can see what they have. A steak burrito is $6.50 flat that comes with steak, rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cilantro and onion With sour creme and two sauces on the side. I watched the lady make my burrito through the window and man was there a mountain of food piled high, I didn't think she was going to roll it up but she did. My first impression upon opening the box was that this is a huge burrito, see the pictures. It was packed so much that the filling was falling out when I picked it up and it was a two hander to keep it from falling over. My first couple bites in and I was really liking the burrito because of all the layers of flavor. All the fresh vegetables playing with the beans, rice, meat and cheese was really good. I got through about half of the burrito and experienced no weird chewy gristle pieces that some trucks have in the meat. I'm really glad that I decided to go back because I really enjoyed the steak burrito and it was one of better street burritos I have had. Great job.

Comparing to photos of their south side truck, the menu on the north side is much smaller, with steak, pork (al pastor) and chicken the only options listed on the menu. You can get them in tacos, burritos, quesadillas and a taco dinner with rice and beans. Perhaps they have a larger menu on weekend, I'm not sure. I got two pork and one steak taco, because al pastor is generally my fave. Surprise, the steak won the day today though. It was chopped steak, as most taco trucks are, but it was super tender, almost like they braised it first. Great flavor too, much beyond the steak at other places that I find bland. The al pastor was good too, but I like the pork better other places. It was quite well done here with lots of crispy bits and I think I detected a hint of pineapple once or twice, but couldn't make out any pieces by looking at it. Tacos came with big wedges of lime, and you can do your own salsa from two squeeze bottles. The verde was mild and a little creamy; the red was hotter but tasted like burnt chiles. Perhaps they toasted them a bit too far before pureeing. Still, good heat to the red one. The tacos came by default on doubled corn tortillas and with cilantro and onion, which is perfect. If you order them "to go" you'll get a closed foam container in a bag, if you order them "for here" you get them on half a foam container. Would stop again if I'm in the area!
