    Carnitas
    Elizabeth O.

Came in with a group. The experience was night and day from previous visits. We had a group of 6 but it was not busy. I spoke highly of this place but the food was just okay. The carnitas wasn't cooked properly it was dry and did not have enough flavor. I also asked for extra meat and 5 servers came to ask if we got it when we didn't. It took 30 minutes after eating to finally get it. Also, why would you bring me double meat in a separate container and not on my plate? The carnitas wasn't shredded properly and it wasn't good. It was oily and just not right. I wouldn't come back! The food is pricey but usually very good. Now it's just mediocre and still expensive!

We have been wanting to try this place for a while, and we finally did today. All I have to say is oh my god, we have been SLEEPING on this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came in for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday, and parking and seating were plentiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we walked in, we were greeted warmly by Wendy and she asked our names, making us feel cared for in a true hospitality way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are some beautiful murals inside the views of the mountains out the windows were gorgeous as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The smells inside were mouthwatering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with cheese, and my husband ordered the red chilaquiles. The food was so fresh, and everything was well seasoned without being overly salty or greasy. The side salad was well dressed, the rice had a lovely mix of veggies in it, the beans were smooth, and of course, the rancheros themselves were perfectly cooked and sauced. We absolutely cannot wait to come back and try more items, especially the lunch at some point!

Brought the hubby here for Sunday breakfast, his first time, my second. I ordered the carne asada chilaquiles, eggs over medium, and he ordered carne asada and eggs also over medium. It was kind of funny cuz he was like 'oh you got nachos with your breakfast.' Bruh. Chilaquiles aren't something I order all the time and I usually only order them at a place in SoCal. These will probably be my Tucson go-to chilaquiles. The accompanying salad is a nice change from potatoes or bread and kind of lighten up the. meal. I also got the turmeric lemonade which I got hooked on at Turmerico. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the front patio area as it wasn't blazing hot and it's mostly covered. Good for people or pigeon watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Idk what it is about the food here but nothing is crazy greasy or salty or over spiced. Their guacamole is perfect. And the staff is friendly and nice. Looking forward to bringing others here as well as trying out some of the sweet treats that look pretty amazing.

Went here for lunch and had the fish tacos. They were very good and not battered like some of them. The flavor was great and the salad on the side was really good, not sure what the dressing was but it was yummy. The staff were friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is great size with patio seating too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I will be back.

I adore Tumerico (sister restaurant) so I'm not remotely shocked at how much i liked this spot. The portions are huuuuge and the food is so flavorful!! Their salsas always tie everything together and bring the food from good to great. I do wish we'd gotten more than two tortillas for the ropa vieja (recently at Tumerico it came with four). And though the chilaquiles tasted amazing the chips were a bit greasy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Still so delicious overall, with kind staff and the cutest covered outdoor spot that made for the perfect spring lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Adorable exterior with outdoor seating!

I was seriously craving some real Mexican food for breakfast, like back home, so I did a Google search for something nearby our location. Boy, am I glad we found this little place! The service was fantastic with very friendly staff the second we walked in, and the food was wonderful! After we were able to choose from their amazing menu of options, including a vegan menu, we were treated to some really great tortilla soup, compliments of the house! We each had a cup of really good coffee, so fresh! My husband and I then shared the red Chilaquiles plate and almost couldn't finish all of it! This serving on this plate was enough for two of us, and so colorful! We took advantage of the 'help yourself' salsa bar and were definitely not disappointed, really great! From beginning to end this place was impressive, and I highly recommend stopping by if you can.

I really enjoyed my lunch at La Chaiteria. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was warm and welcoming[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I appreciated the relaxed feel of the restaurant and the friendly service. It was the kind of place where you can enjoy a good meal and feel comfortable at the same time. I would definitely go back again and recommend La Chaiteria to anyone looking for a delicious lunch spot in Tucson.

I had high expectations for this place, so I'll start with the not-so-great. Prices are on the higher side, though I assume they use quality ingredients. We ordered the carnitas (pork) burrito, which had good flavor, but the broccoli tasted off--both in the burrito and in the rice. The beef tamales also had good flavor but were on the dry side; it seemed like they were reheated on the grill rather than steamed, as they should be. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table, yet you're still expected to tip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The décor could also use some improvement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The good: They have great drinks--I ordered the matchata, and it was very tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a salsa bar and a water station, which is a nice touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also offer items for sale in their refrigerators, and the open-concept kitchen is appealing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A huge fan of this place because each and every time you come here, you can expect consistent tastiness, freshly prepared meals, and good vibes overall. Everything I have ordered here... and I mean everything as I have been coming a few years... is superb in flavor ( personally, I am a huge fan of their chile relleno and their pork carnitas chilaquiles). This is also the only place I look forward to a side salad for breakfast ... They offer vegan and meat options. They also have a good mole latte and smoothie options. Their menu specials change but the quality of food does not. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Due to renovations in the past year... lots more dining indoors and on the back patio allowing for larger groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is a bit of a challenge but worth the effort. They have a sister restaurant (Tumerico)... but this is my favorite. Service is super nice and quick.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]An incredible experience from the moment we walked in. A clean, cool, organized and welcoming environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter, you're given a number and then find a table. The young lady that helped us was the kind of employee you want representing the front end. Big smiles, bright welcoming spirit and willingness to help us decide on the extensive and beautiful menu. Everything on the menu sounded awesome! We ordered the Machaca Plate and the Calabacitas. ¡Guau! Beautifully presented! Beans, rice, a lovely spinach salad, a bright dollop of fresh guacamole and dos corn tortillas accompanied each dish. The Machaca was perfectly seasoned, lots of flavor. The spinach salad chopped into bite size pieces and perfectly dressed. The Calabacitas were savory and full of comforting flavor. We loaded our little tortillas with the goodness of each dish and it was delightful & delicious! They have a salsa bar to enhance the flavors even more. All the staff members we encountered were SO pleasant and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is the kind of atmosphere that makes one return.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food cooked with thoughtful care seals the deal. Don't miss this gem.

Great stop after Tumamoc Hill hike - plenty of vegan and non vegan options . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Salsa bar and o door & outdoor seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose sit in the back patio[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Really enjoyed the fresh beet juice & vegan soyrizo con papas plate .

I enjoyed the fish tacos with some friends on the patio for lunch today. They're cooked on the flattop, so no breading or deep frying involved. I thought the price was reasonable for the portion size-1 order is 3 tacos. I LOVE their salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The back patio is hidden but is shaded for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great.

It's been a minute since my last visit to Chaiteria and it was good to go back! The menu has since incorporated some of the vegan menu items folks might be familiar with from Tumerico, in addition to some vegetarian dishes, they're delicious to Aquiles, Carnitas Barbacoa, etc. our group of five enjoyed an order of the Carnitas, the Barbacoa, the Frida Kahlo, vegan tostadas, birria tacos, and a bean and cheese burrito for our three-year-old daughter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dining indoors was not ideal because the space was filled with smoke and chiles from the kitchen area, but to my surprise, they have a patio behind the building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio is unfortunately lacking ambience, but it was perfect for us as it was shaded and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone loved what their ordered. The food is just really simple and good with fresh ingredients. The front of house staff were all really welcoming and helpful.

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.

The food was creative while maintaining that fabulous fresh, handmade Mexican flavor profile. Absolutely delicious! Pricing landed somewhere in the $$ amount per person including beverage and appetizer. Very fair for the level of hand-crafting going into every dish. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommend getting one for busy times) and were happy to sit where they could fit us. Our server Louie was EXCELLENT. He walked us through the entire menu in 3 minutes and we felt confident ordering. He also suggested an amazing appetizer featuring chilies stuffed with cheese and shrimp and wrapped in bacon . I ordered the Fajitas Mixtas for my main as I wanted to try several meats. Hubby ordered the shrimp enchiladas with both green and red sauce. Both were beautiful and delicious. I also tried the mocktail that had prickly pear puree. It was delicious and refreshing. The menu had options available for folks seeking Gluten Free, too. Amelia's was decked out with modern, slightly edgy decor that was welcoming and exciting. Seating for wheelchair users could easily be accommodated by dining table chair removal. The Oracle Street location isn't huge, but the staff does a fantastic job getting folks in and you won't feel cramped. I could definitely see the place needing to expand due to popularity someday soon. Go and you won't regret it. This has made the list for returning to the next time we're in town!

They have a great selection with plenty of options, even for the picky ones (aka me!). The prices are very reasonable, and the food is colorful, beautiful, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise level. It gets so loud that it's really difficult to have a meaningful conversation, which takes away a bit from the overall experience.
