If I could leave zero stars I would. I tried to give the gym a chance. My first day was on 8/18…read morewith Jose V and he welcomed me. The issue started when he asked me what I wanted out of the class and I simply said I just need to show up and that I'm not looking for motivation. He proceeded to convey his preferred coaching style and we had a long talk after class where I tried to convey that I don't feel comfortable with certain movements and he told me that he doesn't think I'd fit into the culture of the class. This is strange because on their website it says "Workouts can be adjusted in weight, intensity, and certain mechanics to scale to the experience and fitness levels of any individual, be it a total fitness beginner or elite competitive CrossFitter." I'm not sure why I have to explain to a fitness coach that although I look strong my fitness level isn't where it "looks" like it should be. I wear a heart rate monitor so if my heart rate is in the high 180's, that not good. Then I showed up two days later to the Wednesday to meet Luis Rafael. From the moment I walked in he had something against me. He was yelling at me in the middle of class and I asked him to "please stop yelling" and "why are you yelling". His response was "that's just how it is around here". Um, I'm pretty sure it isn't. In between workouts I do some stretching and then he starts yelling at me. He was very patronizing. He said I wasn't following the flow of the class. I asked him what exactly and his response was "you just are! You cannot do whatever you want!" I have no idea what this means but if stretching between is considered not following the flow of the class... so I said I'm stretching my lats. His response was "it doesn't matter. You can't do what you want". Folks, we are doing power cleans and hang clean. If you can't get your elbow up high it means you either don't have the wrist strength and/or your lats are tight, he's a coach and said it doesn't matter?? Your website says you welcome beginners but two coaches seem to not know what they are doing. You cannot stretch between workouts, your not allowed to LITERALLY adjust the weight and intensity to your fitness level (even though it says on their website that you can expect that) and then you have coaches leaning over you and yelling at you in you face and across the room (Luis). Utterly disgusting behavior. This is a circus and that's why is dirt cheap at $25 per session in NYC. They couldn't dare compete with other gyms lol. I also told Luis I'd write a review and he said he "said I don't care we have soooo many good reviews". I'm sure they asked for the for reviews. Both coaches were so sassy. Anyway, as I walked out I yelled back at Luis and told him he was quite rude. IF you can, spend the extra money and go to a real gym, go to a boutique gym. It's so much better. You really are paying for what you get. Club Pilates is great (I'm a regular) and Rumble, Cycle Bar, Barry's Bootcamp, and F45 all great. Yes, each class is double this "sh!thole" place. You truly get what you pay for. Excuse me while I engage in petty behavior BUT Luis also obese. His GUT is literally hanging out? How do YOU look the way you do and call yourself a coach. Sweating while giving instructions?? How are YOU winded while doing demonstration? How do you look like THAT? You know why folks? I'll tell you why, this is a low quality gym with low quality coaches.

This is an awesome place weather you are seasoned fitness enthusiasts or a newcomer!…read more Felt so welcomed !! 10 out of 10 great !
