The 2 favorites of mine were the conch and octopus because the chunks of meat were so ginormous! They were also flavorful and fresh! You can tell they weren't stored for a while on some shelf. They tasted like they were caught that morning. One caveat about this place is that if they run out of food, they will tell you it's about a 5-10 minute wait to make more. Not the case. It took them upwards of about 30 minutes to make it and they did not seem like they were in a rush to make it. That is a big put off. That's why this is only a 4 star review and not a 5 star. They'd make more business if they were faster.

The employee that makes the food ended up coming back out about 10 minutes later to ask what I wanted in it. Then they asked what kind of sauce I wanted on it and I said sour cream is fine. The counter employee made some kind of comment about me being American to the lady who was making the food. I also ended up having to ask for the Powerade I paid for (and even though there were multiple flavors, she just pulled the closest one and gave it to me) and the prices varied from the posted board. We were married in Zihuataneho Mexico, were spoiled with good Mexican food living in Chicago, and find after moving outside Nashville, we have craved better Mexican food, so we came here. Gina came to our table to make sure all was OK with wait staff, and food we were eating. Well, it was MORE than OK! Food was wonderful, made fresh, and all questions and requests were answered. She did make us feel like "old friends", and after a long incredible dinner, she offed us 2 tequila shots, and played our "special married song" for our special anniversary.
