I tried this place for the second time and was as disappointed as ever on both occasions. The first time I ordered a cob salad or their equivant. It had evidently sat under a heat lamp for long enough for the lettuce to get warm and wilted while the ranch dressing separated. I complained and said it was inedible. They removed it and I watched the rest of my party of 6 eat. It was never replaced and was still on the bill when it came. When I said I had eaten only a single bite I was told that was my problem. Yesterday I went back with a party of 4 and ordered the steak rancheros. 50 %fat and gristle about 1/4" thick for $29. I also had a frozen margarita served in a square glass half melted...$15 That meal wasn't worth a third that. Add in a bored waiter and you have the picture. I never intend to return. read more

Nelkey was our server tonight, and he was brilliant, but we also had two managers and a water/chip server checking on us and helping out. Not the best Mexican food place but not the worst. The restaurant is huge and has a great atmosphere. The chips were stale and we didn't care for the green salsa at all. Service was good - food ok. The beef fajita meat was very dry. We may go back and give them a second chance. read more

I have eaten at LaCasona on two different occasions. The first time I went I had the fajitas . The waiter highly recommended them and I'm glad he did . Beef, Chicken and Shrimp along with a ton of veggies ! Excellent The second time , I ordered the enchiladas . They were good as well. Both times I was there, the place was packed . Service excellent. Ambience is really nice. The food missed the mark this time. They tried to make it right by bringing us out new dinners but it did not taste as great as it had in the past. Our original meals arrived cold and some items were heavy on the salt. The waitress and manager did try to correct the situation by bringing out fresh plates and were extremely pleasant and apologetic. I ordered my favorite meal and I don't know if they changed cooks, ingredients or both. Was disappointed but we will give it another try in a few months to see if it was just an off night. read more

We've been coming here for years. Best salsa with chips and love their fajita nachos. The fajitas are also very good especially the la Casona with extra vegetables. I never had a favorite Mexican restaurant but after trying la casona it is hands down my favorite Mexican place. Would 100% recommend

I wish I could give it five stars. Here is why I can't... The customer service, although nice and respectful, are not the smartest when working with a large group. We brought in a rather large group on a Sunday evening. We usually never have to wait to be seated, which is why we find ourselves there often. As we were ordering our food, we tried to help the server separate the checks by grouping our meals together. "I'm with the redhead down on the end..." type of help. She blankly would look at us, smile, and say "yeah yeah, I got it." After she was done I turned to the guy next to me and said, this isn't going to end well. It didn't. By the time we were ready to go, she couldn't remember who had what. Who was with who? Who was drinking what drink? Meals were on wrong tickets, and drinks were being paid for by the wrong people. After 20 mins, several other servers trying to help, I finally walked to the front to tell them what we ordered so we could get our 2-year-old home to bed. They told me they couldn't help me. I walked back to the back of the restaurant, and no help. I finally flagged down a manager, explained the situation, asked for help and he went to try to figure it out. Eventually, he had to comp my meal because of the chaos. That's not what I wanted. I wanted to pay for my meal, I just wish the waitress had let us help from the start, instead of trying to rush the orders. Other than that...the food is pretty good, and the atmosphere was fun. I don't know if I'd recommend a large group...if you do go with one...make sure they know what they are doing when they are taking your order. read more

Stopped in here for dinner after Karting at MSR. Nice, big, clean and pleasant Mexican restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt. Warm salsa and thick, light & crispy chips. We ordered queso to start then quesadillas, bacon wrapped shrimp, carne guisada and more. Food was very good. Drinks marginal. House made margaritas were ok - light on tequila and supposedly had Gran Mariner, but it wasn't evident. Overall, pretty good and would visit again. read more

What I got was a thing of melted cheese and fajita meat very disappointing especially since it cost me almost $10. We have been coming here since the restaurant came to Angleton about 20 or 21 years ago. They have never disappointed. The staff is so polite and attentive, we know some by name. The food is consistently well prepared and delicious. If I had a critique, it would be the chips....I would like to see a thinner, crispier chip...But nice open seating and a full bar that is staffed so you don't have to wait. THE best Mexican food! I love this place so much I had my rehearsal dinner here! The margs are awesome. Make sure you get the golden top! The hot sauce is served warm, which makes it all the better. So I went in and ordered 4 tacos and a drink. The lady says $19.54. $20 for 4 tacos and a drink lol. I paid, didn't say anything. When I got to my truck i went through the bad and saw no green hot sauce. Went back to ask for some to go with my over priced food, note that I never complained about the price until the lady said they would have to charge me extra for the hot sauce. I asked for the manager and he aso said they can't give it to me, that they have to charge me. Let me just say the food is actually really good and the place is clean. People who carry out though beware. They have a 10% surcharge for take out. Not 3-4% like restaurants in big cities, 10%. It is mandatory, they don't tell you ahead of time, and just shrug it off when you say something about it. No apologies, no offer to remove, nothing. I love LaCasona. They have, by far, the best Cheese Enchiladas and Mexican style Guacamole anywhere! I love, love, love their salsa and chips. Without a doubt they are my fav :) I frequent the Lake Jackson restaurant but enjoy an occasional visit to the Angleton location as well. Being from South Texas and traveling up North I was skeptical about trying Mexican Food but I must admit it was better than some of the places we got down in the South Texas area. The decor the staff and the atmosphere is awesome. The food was rich in flavors even the chips and salsa, the salsa was served hot in temperature which was a surprise to me but was outstanding. The plating is awesome itself as it says a lot about the restaurants reputation. If ever I'm in these area I will definitely come back and enjoy this place I could just imagine the alcoholic beverages (margaritas) which I didn't get a chance to try out... read more

When back got another watermelon margarita but it wasn't frozen it was all liquid. Complained to manager said it was the machine. In my opinion if the machine was like that why you serving frozen margaritas u just askin for a bad rep for a penny in your pocket. Server was not attentive to us. Server never checked on us not even asked us for refills. Then when she did come she saw my wife still eating and asked are you done. Referring to us eating. I was like yea take the plate clearly my wife was still eating. The way she approached was not professional at all.
