Very quickly had a seat. Waitress was very efficient and very nice. Very clean inside. Nice atmosphere. Had a weird little dish called a cheese puff. Was a chip that had a weird tasting yellow cheese in it, was set upon a few pieces of lettuce with a tomato. Just don't see the point because my dinner had lettuce and also a tomato. Had a chicken burrito. Everything tasted like it literally was taken out of a bag and microwaved. Not much flavor in the dish very bland. I gave this restaurant a 5 star rating based on the food and such affordable prices. It's a nice little home style Mexican restaurant. When I order I think that it must not be so great based on the prices, but I have been pleasantly surprised each time. It's not fancy or pricey like some of the local Mexican restaurants. waited TWO HOURS for order (2 bean and cheese tacos and a fajita plate) never received order. waitresses just standing around talking. when asked for order for me and toddler manger got argumentative and called cops. others in party who did receive their order said it was gross and cold. we all ended up with kfc and pizza by the end of this horrible experience. I ordered the cauliflower and asked the waiter if it was a frozen product and he assured me it was house made. The service was great. We were greeted, seated and brought our drinks right away. The iced tea was obviously old and I couldn't drink it. We wanted so much to like this place because it's local but there was nothing edible on either plate. The queso tastes like something warmed up out of a can, the taco meat w/beans had zero flavor, the rice must have come from a bag. Food is basic Mexican but really good for the price and the menu is large. Salsa is tasty but not very spicy. Can't beat their prices (especially the lunch menu!). Decor is cool and they have a bar area too, and the bar is secluded (which is nice). Definitely recommend! read more

We really enjoyed the experience. Great service, by our wonderful waitress Pam. She answered all our questions, as I'd never been there. The margaritas were nice, not too strong. The food arrived quickly, and was nice n presentable. Great atmosphere. It was quiet, which was a nice change. Pam told us about the dance night, kareoke, and busy times vrs quiet times. My favorite part was the Salsa. I usually can't eat salsa because it's too spicy, but this was perfect! We will definitely be going back. :) read more

Worst Mexican food we have ever had and we travel a lot!! Salsa is served heated tastes like baby food. Nacho supreme was tiny and covered in some disgusting tasting yellow cheese. Mexican fare in Clute. This place has a great atmosphere. They have live music during the weekends and events during the week. Drink specials on margaritas are a definite plus. The chips and salsa are pretty good, they have that warm texas salsa I am still getting used to and sometimes it can be a bit runny but the flavor is good. The food is OK. It's pretty typical mexican/ tex-mex and a lot of the dishes are kind of plain. The cheese they use seems like shredded velvetta and isn't my favorite. They do make a pretty good Carne Asada though! Come for dinner during the one of the weekly events and enjoy the drinks! read more

I had to write a review for these guys. To start with, Clute is saturated with Mexican Food. I mean, every block has a Mexican restaurant. Great place for me to live since I really LOVE Mexican food! We got to Los Paisas on Friday nights - from 8 to 10 they have mariachis, and those guys are really fun and talented. Another fun thing is to go on Thursday nights - they have a local band (two piece) that has quite a senior citizen following and all the seniors get decked out and go dance. It is super fun to watch. So - Thursdays and Fridays are entertainment. Now let's talk about the food. It isn't great - it's good. The queso and salsa are delicious but sometimes the chips are iffy. The tamales are delicious. I usually get a plate that has tamale, cheese enchilada, beans and rice. I don't much like their taco meat, but it is kind of real mexican and I guess I just like Tex-Mex better. Doesn't mean YOU won't like it! My friend always gets the "green enchiladas" and says they are very good - the fajita meat is good and the green sauce is really good -which is vouched for by another friend who gets a burrito plate with green sauce. However - it's the 99 cents margaritas that keep me coming back. I have it on the best information that they use PATRON for their 99 cent margaritas. I always wondered why they packed such a punch. Also, the same source said if you order for example a tequila sunrise - Patron - in other words - all their drinks are made with top shelf liquor. Disclaimer - you can't just go in there and drink - the only way you get a 99 cent margarita is if you order food. But the food is cheap, the drinks are a great value, the entertainment is a hoot. We had four of us the other day, all had dinner and I think our margarita total was 13 between the four of us - the bill without tip was 55 dollars! This is a weekly trip for us and I won't be changing that up any time soon. read more

This is not the best mexican restaurant in the area, but they make up for it in service and community outreach. The food has good days and bad days, some days its better than others but the price is very reasonable. However, the staff is always very attentive and friendly. They also have a local game group that meets their regularly and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

I was a customer for years and years. NO MORE. I had to leave unexpectedly right when I got my food . So I had to get a to go box. I was not aware of a problem with my food until I was on the way to an appointment I had forgotten about. I called them up on the way and simply wanted it corrected or replaced with something prepared the way I expected. Instead of this it turned into an argument. Also I received an education in how they as well as ANY OTHER restaurant would prepare it. A statement which for at least one restaurant I know of does not make the same as they did. Once I was done with my appointment I went back and tried once again to just let them know that regardless of the circumstances I simply wanted it corrected or get me one prepared the way I was used to. A refund was issued along with MORE education about fine print on the menu about the problem with my order as well as pointing out to me about they reserve the right to refuse service. As if I had any intention to return. The guy even mocked me when I mentioned that I know one of the guys that worked there, a person I considered a friend there, during the phone call but I couldn't remember his name. He snidely said he knows his friends name. I know the guy I know would have simply corrected and explained why it was that way in a polite manner. If either of the two guys I spoke with on the phone had offered to correct it initially and ok offered an explanation about the misunderstanding afterwards, I probably would have said never mind, I didn't know that was it. I just assumed it would be prepared im a similar manner to another grilled item I order. But instead of keeping a happy longtime customer they turned me into a former customer. read more
