Super Tasty Food! Best enchiladas I've had since my hometown restaurant closed. Beef tostadas were very good as well. We loved and ate it all, tamales, enchiladas, tostadas, rice & beans. We were too hungry to take pictures. lol read more

Service is excellent. We had breakfast! They have the best pancakes anywhere and the bacon is cooked perfectly. My husband had huevos rancheros; he said it's the best he's had and the corn tortillas are homemade! read more

I have a new addiction, it's their Hippo breakfast tacos, they are the best I've ever had. And their red sauce has great kick. I'm going back for more right now! read more

Don Jose Mexican Restaurant - Current hours 01/02/2025 - Mexican Near Me - Angleton, Texas

The food was soooo good. The corn tortillas and breakfast potatoes were delicious! The service was good and the decorations were cute.

As always Great food, great staff! I highly recommend the famous Ricardo Burger with onion rings or fries. My wife loves the cheese enchiladas. Clean, relaxing, and wonderful Ambience read more

Probably the flavorless Mexican food I've ever tasted! Cheese sauce and not real cheese! Meat was a cheap cut! Poor quality! Guacamole barely had onions and tomatoes... was literally chopped up avocados Tacos weren't flavorful but the best thing I ate Tortillas didn't taste homemade Nor look homemade pretty darn sure they were store bought read more

Below average in all areas. Everything was to bland for my taste. Would not go again. Dirty ceilings, plus there was a moldy smell upon entering. read more

Passed this place up so many times and finally stopped in. The restaurant is very clean with an inviting interior, add the amazing customer service and there is not much els that is needed. Except great food, which they have in abundance. All their items are made from scratch daily. The chips are your normal fair with a fresh salsa that is pretty good. A bit more cilantro and a squeeze of lime would make it perfect. Entrees : #17 Taquitos Plate - 8/10 5 delicious small taquitos with your choice of pastor, beef, or tripa served with avocado, seasoned grilled onions, fresh onions, cilantro, and charro beans. I went with the pastor and it was great, a little sweetness with all of the expected flavors of a good pastor. The charro beans had a very nice taste as well, a bit different than most but really good. #3 Picadillo Con Papas. - 8/10 Ground beef and diced potatoes seasoned with Mexican spices, served with rice and beans. Very well put together, the meat had a very good flavor, can't place my finger on it but a good flavor non the less. The rice and beans were both really good as well. Served with corn or flour tortillas. #25 Burrito Don Jose. - 8/10 Beef or chicken fajita, cheese, and guacamole wrapped in a flour tortillas, topped with red sauce and queso. I had the chicken fajita in this one, the chicken was super moist and tender. The guacamole adds a nice touch to the burrito. I had a couple items included not on the menus description, sour cream and lettuce. It just added a broader range of flavors that accented the rest. The red sauce has a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else, paired with the queso makes this burrito a must have. One thing is for sure , they take pride in making fresh food that is their own. Great flavors, atmosphere, and phenomenal customer service makes Don Jose's a must try. read more

What a happy surprise to eat here. The location is kind of bad so this location has had turnovers one after the other. The grand opening sign told us to try this location again. Previous incarnations were underwhelming so we took a chance. Don't expect instant service but we did get an immediate warm greeting and instructions to sit wherever we liked. They offer soda as well as traditional drinks like horchata. There were others but I forgot. Be ready for heavy accents but our waitress would smile and be patient when we asked her to repeat herself . Hubby got taquitos with beef while I ordered taquitos with tripitas (intestines cut into pieces.) I know, it sounds gross but think of it like pork rinds you buy at store. Those sound gross too but tasty, anyway. I have to go but I'll come back and add more about experience. Go to this restaurant if you want Mexican food in Angleton on a Sunday. Who knows, you might bump into the local priest like we did! read more

Everything is good and they make you feel comfortable very patient with costumes and also kids children there's no problem there

I love their tacos. They are NOT stingy on the meat. In fact, they put so much meat on them that it will fall out if you're not careful. By the way, they are also DELICIOUS! I'm sorry I LOVE their tacos so much that that's ALL I eat. ENJOY read more

Don Jose occupies a location of a formerly defunt restaurant. The decor, service and food were really good. Even has great chips and salsa! The food was hot, served as ordered with the requested changes (ie: no rice, refried beans instead). The price was on the low side and they used quality ingredients - even the steak fajita was perfectly cook. I'm impressed and will return soon. Didn't take pictures but will next time as we eat with our eyes first! read more

Great food, fast and great service. Prices are awesome! Just dropped in as we were passing through on our way out of town. Glad we stopped. read more

Food was great but this must be a family owned, family run business because there was a young man working there seating and waiting on customers that was clearly in his early teens. I love that he is working, earning his own money, learning about Hospitailiy and hard work. Kudos to this young man, his family for raising him right, and this restaurant for employing him!
