Coming to our little town? You must try it! A Mexican restaurant for seafood boil? YES! They have a great menu but when crawfish are in season they have great flavor. Plenty of spice. Hot enough to make it enjoyable and not ruin the flavor. We absolutely love going here for boil compared to the place the specialized in crawfish. Much better flavor. Good drinks and affordable prices for everything else on the menu. They recently added a molcajete to the choice and I have a hard time passing it up. Our favorite thing to start with is the Mexican guacamole and margs. The wife loves the cucumber margarita and I can't get past the house with a shot of Gran Marineau. read more

The first red flag was the lone car that was in the parking lot at noon. Second, was the funky smell outside the entrance. 3rd was the rancid chips. 4th was the salsa that tasted like marinara sauce. 5th was a waitress with standing around laughing like a cross between a hyena and dolphin and then staring out at the customers. 6th was the bean and cheese nachos my friend ordered... how do you mess up bean and cheese nachos? 7th was my chicken tortilla soup that had two chunks of zucchini the size of my fist in it that I had to remove in order to eat my soup. One of the waitresses was pleasant and I didn't want to cheat her out of a tip because of the ring leader's unprofessional behavior. The Topo Chico was the only thing I finished. Another Mexican Restaurant, serving great food. I had a bacon wrapped shrimp dinner with sweet tea, while my son had a dinner with a taco, tostada and cheese enchilada with a Diet Dr Pepper, while my grandson had beans and rice with plenty of chips and salsa. My chicken soup quest continues The soup here was similar to what I encountered yesterday but they added a plate of chopped white oions, jalapeños, cilantro and lime. This plate made the soup more than good, it became excellente So I will be back for more. read more

Decided to stop in because I have never been here. I can't believe there is a Mexican restaurant that I haven't been too. The chips were crispy and the salsa was ok. Not the best but it will work in a pinch. The customer service was phenomenal. The Red Enchilada plate was pretty good, decent rice and beans. I did read the reviews but thought I'd give it a try. Ordered the chicken enchiladas w/green sauce. Good flavor but the chicken was chunky & dry even with the tasty green sauce. The rice and refried beans were good. Service was good & food came out quick like most Mexican restaurants. Here's where it really goes downhill. I'm not a finicky person, but the flies were everywhere . Most of the folks there were "shooing" flies. There were flies on almost every table. Terrible place to go and eat, it's way better to just go to a Mexican food truck in my opinion. Got my food to go and when I got home I opened up the foil paper and the bread from the torta had mold. I called them back and told them and I decided to give them another try by getting them to make me another one. When I drove back and gave them the torta they gave me the new one and as I drove off I decided to check on my food to make sure everything was ok before I made the drive back home, as soon as I opened it there was a live roach crawling on top of the torta. Tried this out for the first time, for dinner. I wasn't disappointed at all. I tried the Enchiladas and the were about an 8 out of 10. I should have asked for onions to kick it up to a 10. I also ordered 2 beef fajita tacos on the side. They were actually quite good. They fully loaded them with lettuce and tomatoes,!but next time I will get them without that and ask for onions and bell peppers instead. Not worth it... I don't know why I keep going to this place...oh wait...I do...because they are the only Mexican restaurant in town with a drive-thru. This morning I ordered a POUND of barbacoa...let me repeat myself...a POUND of barbacoa. First, the price was a little much, but I thought I'd give it a try, have some leftovers for tomorrow. The look the lady in the drive-thru gave me should've caused concerns...the look someone gives you before they rip you off. When she handed me the to-go container it felt too light for a pound of barbacoa, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I asked if there was green-salsa and went on my way. When I opened the container, there wasn't a pound of meat. There was maybe 1/2 a pound of meat, perhaps even less. There were more cilantro and onions than there was meat. To add insult to injury...only three tortillas! Looking back, what I got was three barbacoa tacos that I had to put together myself. Here's that sad part, the food tastes great, but it's not worth the price! When you order a POUND of barbacoa, you should get a POUND of barbacoa, not what they assume is a pound. If you are hungry for breakfast tacos I'd recommend the gas station down the street. Sure the quality isn't as good as Guadalajara, but at least you know what you're getting...not ripped off! Ok, this is purely from my taste in Mexican food, I grew up with my Mexican grandma cooking her food from scratch and every meal delicious, so it's always compared. That being said, it's ok. Seems like 1 step up from Taco Bell. We got guacamole and I got a couple chicken enchiladas with beef taco. My husband ordered shrimp enchiladas, but was brought shrimp tacos. My husband was happy with the amount of shrimp, he liked his dinner overall. I would prefer more spice or onion or both in my guacamole. Some white crumble cheese is always nice too, but none of that. I prefer house cooked shredded chicken in my enchiladas but this was cubed grilled chicken with a cheddar cheese instead of any of the Mexican white cheeses. The flour tortilla used for the tacos seems prepackaged. Just not my expectations when going for Mexican food. I saw someone recommend the mango margarita saying it's fresh and not syrup. It was yummy but I saw her pour the syrup from the bottle so not fresh. read more

My family and I eat here this afternoon the food was amazing the Mango margarita was delicious because they blend fresh mango's not syrup. I don't think I'd ever write a review about refried beans they make them fresh every morning and incorporate chorizo. This is my tebiew from 3 years ago on FB. Before THIS happened I would gladly have given them a four star review. I will be posting and telling EVERYBODY, EVERYWHERE, that Guadalajara in Angleton Does Not Care if you call them and tell them that your $10. dinner was dry and overcooked and just plain not good. I have been eating there a lot and I called the same nite it happened, several times and it was always a busy signal. The next morn, I called and asked for a manager, the girl told me there was not one on duty. When I spoke with a manager that evening, he said I should have called the day before. I explained to him AGAIN that their phone was constantly busy. The next morn., I was told there was no manager on duty. Then, he asked me why I didn't bring it back with the receipt. I told him once I buy dinner and go home and change clothes, I'm hungry and I'm tired, I am NOT going back out. He said, "what do you want me to do"? I said it's simple, replace the dinner like any decent restaurant does. He said no he can't, he won't. He had the nerve to tell me that "we have to pay for everything". I told him I paid for my dinner which was not good, and that I will not go back there and I will tell everybody on Facebook not to go there he said, "Ok, do what you want to, it's ok." So I am. It's important that we get what we pay for, and when it is not good, it should be made right. I don't lie and make this stuff up, and I am not accustomed to being treated this way. I shop and eat where my business is appreciated, therefore, I can't afford to do business with Guadalajara in Angleton because I know if my food is not done properly all they do to make it right is a big NOTHING AT ALL, not so much as an apology. They must think that customers are not important, so do yourself a favor, don't do business with them because they were 100% willing to refuse to make it right. Please help me spread the word like crazy. Especially on Face Book, too. I want him to see that people DO CARE, whether we matter to him or not. We sat today for 15 minutes before a drink order was even taken. A/C not working correctly so it's hot in here. Waitress is giving poor service. We arrived long before happy hour was over but because it took so long we had to request manager to get 2nd drink at happy hour price. Had an awful experience this morning. Server was short with us. Didn't seem like she wanted to be there, but being in the industry (chef)I let it go because I know we all have bad days sometimes or other things going on. She brought salsa to the table with nothing else. When we asked for chips she said because it was 10 minutes before 11, and they don't bring them unless you ask before lunch. No worries, but I wondered what the salsa was for. We asked for queso with our chips and ordered my daughter a grilled cheese. She brought it in out with the "queso" if you can call it that. I mean I guess you can since that's literally all it was. Unseasoned lukewarm cheese whiz. My daughter's grilled cheese was unmelted shredded cheddar barely holding the bread together. My Flautas were in a chalupa style puffed tortilla, not crispy. My mom's chile relleno had the stem battered and fried inside and was topped with cold cotija when she asked for queso on top. I also got a barbacoa taco on flour. It came out cold and on corn. I would have asked for the flour I had ordered but the waitress never came back by to ask how our food was. It wasn't until we finished and sat for 5 minutes that she asked if we needed anything else. We asked for boxes and she brought ONE. Honestly I didn't even want to take mine but we hate wasting food especially now when its $40 for a cheese Chile relleno, a lunch special and a kids meal. When we asked for an itemized receipt, the cashier rolled her eyes. Discovered we were charged 5.99 for "chili con queso". We told her we just got queso not chili con queso. She said that's what it was. I said I'm a chef and chili con queso is not queso. She rolled her eyes again and said it's just how it is in the system. So they really charge $6 for an 8 oz cup of melted cheese and in all actuality it wasn't even 8 oz like they charged for. It was 6 oz. The cashier bad mouthed us and laughed before we even got out the door. If we knew we would be charged for it we would have had actually ordered chili con queso so we got our money's worth. Overall, the bad attitude and high prices for mediocre food left us less than pleased. Would not return or recommend. We should have gone next door like we had originally planned. read more
