One of the few authentic spots around! I can by for the first time with my family and it was great. The people in the restaurant are very kind and the food was made fresh. We went last Friday evening. Our waitress was great. My friend ordered a margarita. It had some purple sugar or something in the rim. It tasted kinda like a grape kool-Aid. I ordered a pina colada. She said the rim would be a leches with coconut. I'm like can I have half & half. She goes of course. But the coconut & lechera is really good. She brought it. It was amazing. They have expanded the menu but basically it is the same as it was in the '80s. The food is the same as well same quality same quantity and excellent flavor. It was our go-to place for lunch back when I worked near there. Some of the same people are there and I consider them friends. Considering everything is cooked to order the service is fast although I now go on off hours rather than at lunch time. In my opinion it's the best Mexican place in the state. Super good food! The tortillas are amazing and handmade. My favorite thing about them was their red chilaquiles, beans plate. I came here thinking authentic Mexican and was surprised when I got my huevos rancheros with just a bunch of tomato and onion on top (oh, there were a few jalapeño slices also). Completely missed in my opinion. Where was the ranchera sauce? On a positive note, the beans were delicious. Rice was ok but a little bland. Food was horrible, ordered small caldo de res lady came back with a peace of bone and 3 small peaces of hard meat, broth taste like water and salt. I asked her to take it back it was not edible. She replied by telling me that other customers haven't complained about flavor. Well, it all started in the morning when we always craving pozole. It was July 4th so the place in Fontana that I normally buy was closed so I tried this place. I made the order and I drove and got it. Definitely driving up to a house so that was nice. Limited parking in the front not so much. We got the food and took it home. This place has been around for a while, and don't be fooled by the exterior. They have pretty good food. The prices appear very reasonable as well. I ordered a chicken enchilada entree which came with a chicken taco - the chicken was seasoned to perfection and delicious. The enchilada was perfectly flavorful as well and the rice and beans were what you'd expect from any good Mexican restaurant. The salsa provided with the chips when you sit down tastes like it's made in-house and fresh... and the service was decently fast as well.
