Food and service is always great! I was very surprised and happy to find a good Mexican food restaurant in a smaller town.

I came in town to visit family for the holidays. I stopped here for lunch by myself and sat at the bar. I ordered a Tito's and soda and the steak fajitas dinner portion. The service seemed to not care about much as for I saw my "server" once. As for the food was absolutely delicious. I am following a very specific diet and this is one of the only Mexican restraints that listened to me when I said only extra salad with my fajitas. I asked for a house hot sauce and it was the perfect level of heat for me. I basically build a salad out of my fajitas (low carb diet) and it was very good. Only down fall was lack of server and the steak needed cut to half the size the steak was very long. Hard to chew without looking like a cow grazing the pasture. All together I have always enjoyed my time here. I come to Ohio to visit about every 6 months and this place never misses the mark. read more

Great food reasonably priced. The taco was fresh burrito was delicious and beans served in a cut little tostada cup.

Love the food but the last 2 times I've gotten take out they were missing whole meals and they refuse to fix it so I will not be back

This restaurant is just ok. For Hillsboro, it's a good alternative to pizza. But as far as quality Mexican food, it's mediocre at best. Everything tastes the same, and usually smothered in cheese sauce. There's not really a varied menu as far as flavors go. Service is friendly, all the servers are pretty attentive. The restaurant is usually pretty loud. Music playing, loud patrons. But that's ok, it's a Mexican restaurant and that is to be expected and welcomed. read more

I'm not a fan of the price changing when it benefits a slow day. That's the first I have ever paid $10 Margarita. That was more juice than drink. There had been other issues on prior visit. Not receiving food I have ordered and once again the price changing. Keep track of what you order and make sure it matches at the counter when you leave. I'll stick to chips salsa and beer if I go back for now on. read more

My go to Mexican everytime! I'm not very picky, but this Mexican is hands down the best around. It's a very casual and laid back environment and the customer service is always great! You get your food really quickly (even when it's busy) so they're always on top of their game. I've never had a bad experience! read more

Probably the best restaurant in Hillsboro. Hubby and I have had to take our daughter to the area for an activity once a week for the last couple months. We've been looking for a decent place to eat for a while now. This is it, good food, decent service and not to expensive. The atmosphere is casual, and it was pretty quiet even though it was busy. The service was a little slow, but we are killing time so we weren't bothered by this. The chips seemed ok, but the salsa is not stellar. The food however was fantastic, everything was hot and fresh with great flavors. I now look forward to our weekly trip just for the chance to eat here! read more

We found this place on the recommendation of a local...and we were not disappointed! The service was excellent and prompt; we were seated immediately and had our drinks within 2 minutes. The menu is well laid out. The children's menu is a bit lacking in Mexican fare, but the kids just ordered off the normal menu to get something authentic. Delicious food, excellent staff! read more

The best Mexican food I've ever had. I don't say this lightly the current yelp rating is nowhere close to a good representation. We were in town to visit serpent mound and this was the second best part of the trip. The table sales could have been better but the food was so good it made up for it and I still give it five stars. read more

Terrible service. The "bartender" was on her phone when we walked in. We had to seat ourselves and, once seated, had to approach the bar when we we were ready to order. Loved the food!!! We shared a Texas fajita and it was enough for 4 people! Best mushrooms of any Mexican restaurant ever! This Mexican restaurant is my new favorite ... For the food alone. I'm hoping they were just having an off night because I definitely want to go back. Our waiter didn't smile, we had maybe 3 different fellas bring food and none of them seemed too happy to be there. At the end of our meal we asked for a box and wanted to try some fried ice cream but no one ever came back. We sat for 15 minutes til a worker walked by and we snagged him for a box. We finally got our box but no bill. Lol. We went on up to checkout and let her know we didn't get a check and she didn't even acknowledge. She just rang us up and we left. RUDE STAFF, AND GROSS FOOD! I will never eat at this establishment again. The hostess was rude, and instead of seating us, she pointed to a table and muttered "there", letting us seat ourselves at a sticky table. The menus were carelessly strewn out across the table before us. We were asked about drinks, and one of us were brave enough to ask if they had Cherry Coke as an option. "No" was our answer, and that was the end of that discussion. We weighed over in our minds weather or not we should leave, and after deciding that we were all hungry,we decided to atleast try the food. Our plates came out. One was a tortilla, with the indentation of another plate pressed on top of the food. The other was artificial crab in a thick, sickeningly salty cheese sauce. Everything else tasted like microwaved Mexican food out of the frozen food aisle. I will never come back. Taco Bell has better food and service. Only go if you want to waste money on nasty food and rude service. read more

Tex-Mex or Cajun are one of my faves, but this place is someplace I would not go again. The food was very similar tastes and no real depth of flavor and bland. The chips and salsa is sub-par and tasted a lot like out of the bottle and boxed chips. Service here was easy to describe in one word, ANNOYING, I mean who has their workers come by a table 2 - 3 minutes and ask if we need anything or if everything is ok. The kicker was that they weren't the same people, we don't know how many employees they had, but we think every one of them asked us something during the time we were there. read more

Our group of five at there today and would unanimously have given a 5-star rating except for the service. Our orders were taken quickly enough and we didn't wait overly long for the food but once the food was delivered we didn't see our waitress for a long time. No checkins, drink refills, etc. We each ordered different items and were very pleased with the food quality and quantity though. We don't live in Hillsboro, but we come almost every week to the lake. We hadn't tried this Mexican restaurant yet, but some people we recently met said it's good. Friday on our way home we hesitantly tried it. My husband thought it wouldn't be at it's best because we were arriving there at 3-3:30in the afternoon. He said he thinks restaurants give you reheated leftovers mid afternoon instead of cooking fresh. HE WAS WRONG! They even have a note on the menu asking for your patience waiting for your food because they cook it all fresh! Every thing was delicious! I don't like the salsa at most Mexican restaurants, but we really liked theirs- not too runny, not too chunky, not too spicy. The tortilla chips were literally halves of tortillas, deep fried fresh. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo- chicken with sautéed mushrooms and onions served over Spanish rice with Mexican cheese sauce over all- It was delicious! My husband ordered a burrito with sides of rice and beans and said his was very good as well! The servers all worked together coming to check on us regularly as well as the hostesses, who made sure we had refills on our chips & salsa and drinks. My family and I sat down for a nice dinner thinking we would get a deal and some ok service I mean you never expect a lot from a place like this. The first smell that hit you upon entering is spilled cheap beer; when it took the waitress twenty minutes to take our drink orders another twenty to deliver the drinks followed by a half hour wait for just my two year old sons food I got upset. But when I had to snatch the chicken fingers away from in front of him burning my hand in the process I had had enough of this horrible restaurant. I wouldn't suggest anyone eat here. read more

Awful place, don't waste your time. My girlfriend and I went there and were extremely I satisfied. It took 25 minutes to get a drink another 30 for our food and the server was very rude. I asked for the check and she rolled her eyes and never brought it. I had to walk through the restaurant to find someone to ring me out. The food was your average Mexican food but not good enough to make me forget the awful service. I will never eat there again. read more
