Great food, Great drinks and absolutely great customer service! This will be a continuous stop every time we visit moving forward!!

Chimichanga
Missy M.

The service was slow and our drinks were left unfilled. The food was ok, it was not hot and it lacked a lot of seasoning. The pricing was not accurate on the menu. We had to show the menu to the server after we received the bill due to getting additional charges that were not published on their menu. I definitely think they're over priced for what they offer, and the quality of the food is not worth spending the money again.

Very good food. Great service. Reasonable wait time and they have a parking lot which we didn't know about so we parked a few blocks away. Very happy with our choice of lunch.

Horchata

They absolutely live up to their name! This is definitely the house of season. We ordered a wet chimichanga with red and green sauce, and an agua de horchata. The food was seasoned to perfection, shout out to the chefs cause WOW! Absolutely incredible. 15/10, the horchata is also 15/10.. Good music, friendly service, clean environment, and delicious food. We came from Sacramento and will definitely be back next time we're in Monterey.

Sadly we had the queso with chorizo ( extremely runny) they don't give enough tortilla chips & the menu indicates there's a charge for more chips. We also had flautas beef with corn tortillas & flour with chicken - They were ok. Best part was that the bottle of beer was only 4.00.

Seafood molcajete

Great food. Get any version of the molcajete w/medium spice & corn home made tortillas! Order a chavela & get your moneys worth!

Beautiful coffee mug & my favorite part of the lunch experience

Simple food with very good service from very caring waiter who double-checked that each food item I chose to consume was allergen-free. Thank you!! For soy-allergy or intolerant folks, be very careful when order as vegetable oil is used without another option. I had a cheese quesadilla with boiled beans & cinnamon coffee (and safe-no soy!). Everything was delicious & hot and coffee came with refills. My friend had a super burrito which was (indeed) super! He took half of it home since he had all the chips & salsa to himself. Location is convenient in downtown Monterey, so one can park anywhere & easily walk to the restaurant. There is street & onsite parking available. Restaurant appeared clean, but not tidy. We didn't use the restrooms. My spoon was dirty & server placed it into the coffee. This is the only reason that the restaurant lost a star.

Great kids options. Got my child French fries and chicken nuggets and I swear they sourced the same ones McDonald's sells but fry it better? I got a 2 taco plate. One shrimp and one birria with rice and refried beans. Bottle Coke. Spouse for a wet burrito he really liked and the hibiscus agua Fresca. The service was lovely. The ambiance was home style and comfy and clean. It was a really nice place to unwind after a long morning.

Molcajete Michoacano

The food was pretty good. We got fresh flour tortillas soo good. The molcajete was super hot and filled! I couldn't finish the whole thing. Only down side was we only got one complimentary chip and salsa and no full bar. The service was ok. The ambiance was very chill. Not very busy when we went.

Carne asada tostada.

Good food at La Casa Del Sazon. We went in on a Sunday evening to a empty restaurant. I didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. We were quickly seated. The decor was nice but we just had an annoying fly bugging my wife and I the whole time. I gave it four stars because we felt rushed by the waiter to pay our bill considering my wife and I in deep conversation in an almost empty restaurant. Other than that the food was flavorful (Molcajete and tostada) and the tortillas were hot and fresh.

The bowls are good. The strawberry margarita however, so weak. Is there even alcohol in it? All I see is ice cubes

We were very happy with the service and food at La Casa Del Sazón. Try the green chilaquiles and add birria on top.. so good! We also tried the cucumber agua fresca, which was delicious and refreshing. Our waitress was very attentive and never left us without drinks or food in front of us. Definitely give it a try if you want authentic Mexican food!

Do they use peanuts or peanut oil?

Hi Kaia! Thank you so much for your question. We do not use peanuts or peanut oil in-house. The only cooking fats we use are vegetable oil and butter. We make all of our food fresh, so if you plan on stopping by, please let your server know about…

As a woman who loves IPA's but hates the bloating of a heavy beer, a refreshing fix is to cut the IPA half with their frozen 3.5% mix - it calms down the high IPA%'s that are 10-11%, it makes it even juicier, and wayyyyy cooler. It is really nice as the ice melts into the beer - it is basically an IPA shandy. They charge you for the more expensive beer but it is worth it to me to lower the % because it is really easy to get drunk quickly just off a couple of their strong IPA's. Bonus of this to me is that is calms down the carbonation so you do not get bloated. l call my mix - The Sloshed Therapist, it is half The Confused Therapist and half their Mango slushie at 3.5%. Highly recommend all the beers, it is hard to go wrong. Make sure your first time to sit at the indoor bar and try a few tasters to see what you like. HIGHLY recommend the Strawberry Margarita Seltzer, even my partner who I swear has an anti-sweet tooth enjoys this Seltzer, NOTE it is 10% and it is not overly sweet so it is a perfect refreshing beverage alternative to the strong IPAs. The Wedos food truck is CRAZY GOOD - the carnitas quesadilla changed my life. Get extra of their sour cream sauce!

Every Monterey Trip Starts Here…read more I've been making the drive from San Francisco to Monterey for years, and this has become my traditional first stop before heading into town. Instead of rushing straight to Cannery Row or 17-Mile Drive, I like to slow down, grab a pint, relax for an hour, and then continue the trip. It honestly puts me in vacation mode. If you're an IPA lover, Dust Bowl Brewing Tap Depot is paradise. California has hundreds of craft breweries, and I've visited quite a few over the years. In my opinion, Dust Bowl deserves to be mentioned among the better IPA breweries in the state. What impresses me most isn't just that their beers are bitter. A lot of breweries chase high IBU numbers and end up producing beers that are simply harsh. Dust Bowl understands balance. Their stronger draft IPAs are incredibly layered. One sip starts with bright citrus, then shifts into tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine, resin, floral hops, and sometimes even hints of stone fruit. As the beer slowly warms up, the aroma and flavor continue to evolve. It's almost like drinking a well-crafted fruit blend--except everything comes naturally from the hops. That's what makes great West Coast IPA so enjoyable. Whenever they have one of their high-alcohol, high-IBU specialty IPAs on draft, I order it without hesitation. Those beers alone are worth stopping for. Honestly, if you're serious about IPA, don't just order one pint. Try several different drafts. You'll understand why people keep coming back. The nice surprise is that the rest of their beer lineup is also excellent. Whether you enjoy lagers, pale ales, porters, stouts, or seasonal releases, everything I've tried has been well made and consistently enjoyable. Another thing I appreciate is that this place never feels like a tourist trap. Considering you're in Monterey, the prices are very fair. The beer quality easily justifies what you pay, and the portions are generous. It's simply honest craft beer served by people who clearly care about what they're brewing. The food isn't trying to be fine dining, and that's perfectly okay. It's good, straightforward brewery food that pairs well with beer. Burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and snacks are exactly what I want while enjoying a couple of pints. The staff has always been friendly every time I've visited. Even when they're busy, they're welcoming, patient, and happy to answer questions or recommend beers if you're unsure what to order. Great service always makes good beer taste even better. For me, Dust Bowl Brewing has become part of every Monterey trip. If you love craft beer, especially West Coast IPA, this place shouldn't just be on your list--it should be one of your destinations. There are plenty of breweries in California. There are plenty of places to drink beer. But if you're an IPA enthusiast like I am, Dust Bowl Brewing is one of those places that reminds you why California became one of the world's great craft beer capitals. Every trip to Monterey starts here. And I can't imagine starting it anywhere else.

We were greeted by Lexi at the front desk, and WOW! She was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be at work. You very seldom see this kind of customer service these days, and Lexi made an immediate impression on us! She wasted no time giving us the scoop on everything Tipsy Putt had to offer. We headed downstairs and played golf for about half an hour. Let's just say we worked up an appetite, especially after all the laughter over our golfing skills! When we were ready for food, Lexi was there again, happy to walk us through the menu and tell us about the many drinks they offer. I ordered a strawberry something-or-other that I wish I could have another one of RIGHT NOW! We all ordered drinks and were very impressed with the variety of options on the menu. Now, let's talk about the FOOD! After stuffing our faces with some of the BEST barbecue wings I've had in a long time, I have to say they were even better than Wingstop! ....And that's saying something! My buddies enjoyed tacos and pulled pork sandwiches, and we were all very happy with our choices. Lexi shared that the cooks really enjoy preparing the food, and I believe it! Everything came out tasting like it was cooked with LOVE. I'm already looking forward to going back, and it won't be long! Please tell Lexi we said HELLO, and that we'll be seeing her again soon. She helped make our visit extra special, and that kind of service deserves to be recognized. And as for those barbecue wings? They're CALLING MY NAME RIGHT NOW! Thanks, Tipsy Putt, for a wonderful time, great food, delicious drinks, lots of laughter, and an employee like Lexi who makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. See you soon! Angel
