I enjoyed a few really good restaurants during my week in Belgium, and this was the best. Only having a few reviews we didn't know what to expect. I would say that if you have a chance eat a meal there. The staff was friendly and provided great service. The food quality, flavors, preparation, and presentation surpassed our expectations especially since it is in the heart of the tourist area.
We started with a nice bottle of Barolo and decided to share a multi course meal. The shrimp scampi was cooked perfectly. Next was the meat ravioli bolognese. The ravioli was handmade and the bolognese sauce was extremely well balanced with great flavor. Veal with vegetables was the proprietors recommendation for our main. It consisted of a great take on stuffed veal with prosciutto, spinach, and cheese topped with a great sauce. The chef included small sides of spinach, broccoli, fresh bare linguini noodles, colliflower, and green beans. After a week of each meal being served with fries all of these vegetables was more than we were hoping for.
After all that food we had no business doing desert....but ordered the cassata and limoncello's. The cassata was a great interpretation of the traditional dish using ice creams with great flavor.
I am not a big reviewer but thought is was important to share our experience. Cheers! read more
