Wish we could give 10 stars! We like to say this restaurant…read morefound us ... On the last day of 10 days in Spain, a trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, we were looking for a nice place to have our last dinner before heading home. When the place we'd chosen on Yelp wasn't opening for another 30 minutes, we happened upon Medio o Pinto. There are no words to describe our experience! From Cesar's recommendations, to Carolina's gift of tequenos for our anniversary (she said they were traditionally eaten for Venezuelan celebrations), our night could not have been more special! I was in tears over their kindness. If you go - and believe me, you should - we highly recommend the suckling pig. The two tapas Cesar suggested were amazing, layers of flavor like you can't believe, one with chicken teriyaki on yucca bread and the other with salmon and plantains. Soooo good ... This is THE place to go to eat in Barcelona, hands down. Exceptional service, spectacular food, and a feeling that you have found more family members. We will be back!

Great restaurant for Venezuelan-Spanish tapas. Portions seem small at first but they pack an…read moreincredible amount of flavor. The sardines dish was pretty unique, almost like sushi with caviar on top. The octopus with sweet potato mash was a unique mix of flavor and grilled to perfection. Patatas bravas here were quite different, it was more like French fries with fingerling potatoes and the sauce is a tad spicier than what you would find in a regular Spanish restaurant. A great choice for this area, although the service is less attentive than in the more touristy areas and the tapas are a bit on the pricey side.

After a day of walking from our hotel to sites around the city we stopped in here for a late lunch…read moresnack. The place is nicely decorated inside and the service was friendly. They have the typical tapas menu items that everyone else has, so we ordered their gambas and Iberico ham with tomato bread, as well as sangria to go with it. The food was pretty nice; the garlic in the shrimp was slightly burnt, but otherwise it was good. Prices are fair, considering it's situated right along the major roadway with tons of tourism. Not a bad place to stop for a bite!

My daughter and I ate here twice during our trip to Barcelona. She has a shellfish allergy so a…read morelot of traditional Catalan can be problematic for her. The menu here is more pork and beef forward. The Chistorra was a great starter. But the real star was the Iberico Pork Loin that you grill table side on their signature Josper grill. It comes with a salad and fries and is a perfectly sized dinner for 2 hungry people. The Iberico pork is unique to Spain. And being able to finish to your desired doness makes sharing a breeze. Upon our return to the US we've ordered 2 table top charcoal grills and some imported Iberico pork loin to try to recreate the experience for the family members who couldn't make the trip. So I think that's a pretty strong endorsement. Wine list was at a forgiving price point. Don't sleep on dessert. The torrijas with cinnamon ice cream was amazing.

The staff were attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, a fellow Trinidadian and he was very polite and eccentric. The food...let's talk about the food. We have nothing negative to say. Their ability to preserve the culture and use available ingredients is impressive. The food was simple comfort food and executed well. We didn't expect to find this quality Caribbean food in Europe or at least Barcelona. We will be back very soon!

I would give this place a zero if I could…read more How an establishment treats its customers is important and they truly do not care. I reached out to them on whatsapp - letting them know that my husband and I were excited to try their food. I got a reply within a minute saying: We are open. We arrived within 10 minutes and the chef tells us the kitchen is closed. He blames the poor communication on the front office. The website does not state what time the kitchen is closed - it simply says open until 11:30PM, as well as, on google. I responded to the whatsapp message letting them know - we were turned away due to the kitchen being closed at 11PM. I couldn't believe the response I received. I was told that I wasn't turned away, they could see me on camera and it didn't look like anyone was being rude to me. The appropriate response would been a simple - The kitchen is closed at 11PM and we are happy to have customers until 11:30PM at the bar. Instead of "we are open" - come and be disappointed we don't have any food. A simple - We apologize for giving you the wrong information would have sufficied. We wasted our time and money getting here. Do not go here. By the way: My family is from Trinidad and Tobago - specifically Diego Martin and Cuerpe. I tend to support Black and specifically - Caribbean businesses, but I want to warm customers that may be treated the same or worse if they go.
