I work a block away and have been wanting to try this place since they opened. I finally went in to order tacos to go before work. The cashier was extremely friendly and patient while I decided what I wanted to try. The inside of the place looked extremely inviting and vibes were vibing. They did not have carne guisada or picadillo. Not sure if it was just that day or they just dont carry those items. I ended up ordering bacon and egg, chorizo and potato, and a bean n chorizo with bacon. These tacos were huge and packed! All 3 tacos were really good and flavor was on point! This is a hidden gem on the west side of San Antonio. It is a small establishment with a few parking spots up front and more in the back. There is even a setup for drive through. The decor is traditional Mexican cutlery. Everything was amazing and colorful The food was amazing and filling. We ordered the Tortas thinking of small portions but it filled the plate and my 6'3" 15 year old didnt finished his. And he is always hungry. The food came hot and promptly. We did go at a low time but we expect the same service when full. Our hostess would constanly check on us and fulfill all our requests. (Glass of ice, refill jug of water, different tortillas, and more) The price is a bit higher but the portions are big and the flavor is amazing. I am glad I tried something new. When I see an establishment serve Menudo, that is my go to. But I wanted to give this place a try and I am not disappointed. Don't judge a book by its cover. From the outside, the outside is very misleading to what's inside. The inside is full of the typical Mexican restaurant. Handmade furniture, bright and colorful artwork, artisanal clay dishes, and beautiful food. Went on a west side pilgrimage for tortillas and decided to stop by here for menudo. The flavors were spot onto what I've had previously. My gf had the breakfast taco with a tortilla made in-house which was pretty tasty too. The tortillas are huge! The waitress also gave us this interesting sausage app which they cut to look like an octopus which was really interesting. The sauce that it comes with was delicious too! Found a jewel of a restaurant that everyone should try. The food is not tex-mex. There is zero rice and beans. The food is more similar to how food is ordered in Mexico. Absolutely beautiful decor, murals and romantic lighting. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The hot dog appetizer was complimentary and came with a sauce and three salsas. I recommend the red. I ordered quesabirria in corn with tender shredded beef. I dipped my tacos in the consumé and when I finished I put the fresh chopped veggies in and had the best soup. We had chips, guacamole, salsa (red is the best), and ordered a tostada with fish and shrimp ceviche to share as an appetizer and it was nicely done and fresh. We walked in thinking we had a reservation, but it turned out we didn't however, the place was empty so we were wondering why... nevertheless, we decided to stay. As soon as we looked at the menu, we were sold; everything from the drinks to the tortas to the seafood looked delicious. We order different plates so we could share and taste a bit of everything and let me tell you, We WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED it was delicious. The place itself was super cute, definitely a cultural experience, the service was also good but the food was definitely what sealed the deal it, however I must warn you Do not order the tortas if you are not ready to have a party of flavors in your mouth!
