The food is always outstanding! First, they make th we ir own corn tortillas. They are soft and slightly sweet. The tacos after so good that we never order anything else! Try the bistek con nopales or the lengua or the cabeza. SINFULLY DELICIOUS! Our favorite place. read more

The food is delicious and authentic.I go there during off hours because it can get really crowded on the weekends. They have a phenomenal take out business with lots of customers coming and leaving with boxes of food.Try to the steak tacos, they're amazing and made with fresh ingredients. read more

It's always the holes in the wall that are the best and this is one of them. Whenever I'm in Florida, this is my go to. The empanadas are amazing and are a good size. I always get chicken. They have regular and Tinga chicken and at times, their Tinga is more hot and spicier so it's a hit or miss with that option. Their sopes are also a good portion and taste great. This place is small and usually crowded and not much space to sit and eat, so I recommend ordering in advance and take to go which is what we do. The ladies behind the counter are pretty reserved but pleasant. The only cons and why I would deduct half a star is due to this place only accepts cash, although they do have an ATM stand with a surcharge inside. Also, parking is very limited. I haven't taken any pictures but on my next trip, I will take a few and will edit this review to add them. :) Final Review: I give La Cabana Del Tio a Chef's Kiss. read more

This place is small, cash only, hot inside, and quite tasty! There is an ATM if you don't have cash but please note, it charges $3 for a withdrawal. We got our food to go and that's what I recommend to you. Two ladies are taking orders by phone and in person while they cranked out zillions of fresh tortillas. They had a huge bin of masa and were measuring, pressing and grilling the tortillas by hand! I had to wait a bit since there was a line and a significant number of phone orders with people coming in to pick up. But hey, it was Cinco de Mayo! We couldn't even get in to the first Mexican restaurant we tried but this plan B worked out just fine! My wonderful wife really enjoyed her authentic cochinita pibil tacos that come with an amazing, flavorful and spicy hot sauce sauce on the side. I got a burrito for tomorrow and I ordered a quesadilla but it tasted like tacos and wasn't grilled. I need to work harder on my Spanish because I suspect my order wasn't clear but no complaints from me! Some of the dishes come with guacamole and sour cream on the side which helped cool down the hot sauce. The beef empanadas and my so-called steak (the same beef as other items) were quite bland so the hot sauce is necessary for sure. Salt would also help. We also got a large horchata which was nice and cool and flavorful. Life is good with authentic tacos! Just stay away from plain beef or chicken. read more

Hands down the best authentic Mexican place. I've had many other "street tacos" from other places in my life and you just can't beat them! I also love their beef empanadas!!! Best hole in the wall place. Definitely go if you are ever in the area! read more

I am a huge fan of authentic street tacos but have not been able to find a good place in Tampa Bay area. Until we met one of the owner's family member Carlos through mutual friends. He bought us some street style steak tacos. And it was delicious! The meat was tender and moist. The side of shredded cheese was a nice added touch. I'm usually a fan of the green sauce but it came with red hot sauce instead which was surprisingly good. Overall I would highly recommend this place. read more

I've been living in St Pete for almost 3 years now. I still haven't found a better taqueria than Cabaña! The tortillas are made on the spot, the meats are flavorful and fresh, and the green sauce is the best I've ever had. La Cabaña Del Tio - Tacos de cabeza, al pastor, carnitas, and asada - Mexican Near Me - Clearwater, Florida

Best Mexican food in area! Everything is fresh and tortillas being made fresh right in front of you. Bring cash.

I was in St. Pete to drop someone off at the PIE airport at 5am. I was getting a little munchy before heading back to Sarasota. Drove 8 miles north and it was the best decision I've ever made. Bought a burrito and empanadas and this place was busy, even at 5:30 in the morning. The best burrito I've had since I've moved back to Florida from LA. The best part? They were making fresh tortillas on the griddle right in front of you. Stop by the shop, you won't regret it. read more

The most amazing tacos you have ever eaten! So good! Whole in the the wall restaurant? You know, the ones that don't care about the decorations but they really care about their food quality. Those are the restaurants I love best. I absolutely hate it when it's the other way around. Good family recipe with lots of love and soul Bring cash they don't take cards. read more

Amazing! This place is as authentic mexican as you can get. They make their own tortillas, gorditas, and everything else made of masa. Its a tiny place with only 3 tables and they were busy today (Sunday) around noon. I found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. I had carnitas gorditas and 1 steak taco. My wife had a torta de milanesa and a carnitas taco. All the meats were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Im looking forward to going back and trying the many other items on the menu. If you want real mexican food this is the place to go. My wife is half mexican and we used to live in Texas so we get excited when we find quality mexican food here in Florida. Its cash only but they have an ATM inside. read more

My wife and I love to vacation in the area. There is no good authentic Mexican food close to where we stay so we sought out a location and boy did we hit gold! Now first let me say if you are going somewhere to have the typical American Mexican meal (Hang out, chips and salsa and drink booze) this is not the place. This little place, and I mean little is about good Mexican street style food! The tortillas are made by hand when you order!!! Don't think of the corn tortillas you would get in a store... these are super mild and fresh! My wife had the chicken fajitas! Loaded with huge chunks of Chicken and Peppers and Onions. Also came with rice, beans and a pack of those made to order tortillas! I had three tacos Mexican style! Chicken, beef and pastor. They were super fresh with cilantro and onion. The tomitillo sauce was awesome! Do yourself a favor and check this little place out! Even if you have to get it read more

La Cabaña Del Tio - a person sitting at a table - Mexican Near Me - Clearwater, Florida

Best tacos in Clearwater. Period. I've lived in Southern California and Las Vegas, both of which are known for good tacos. My standards are very high. When I'm craving tacos I want tender carnitas, homemade tortillas, homemade smooth salsa verde, the right amount of cilantro and onion. And here they are ALWAYS perfect. They have lots of other stuff that I'm told is amazing. But I always get the tacos and I can definitely speak about them. read more

Very good tacos! we went today Al pastor, carnitas and sheep meat were very tasty and the salsa is with chard peppers (salsa taquera) that goes with everything! read more

This food is just SOOO good! My friend and I had lunch here today. We hadn't been here for awhile and simultaneously bit into our tacos carnitas, groaning with the yumminess! We also had beef tostadas...so good! And we topped it of with Mexican Coke, which really does taste better. Service is great. Limited seating, but the tables turn over pretty quickly. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

all right displace let's go they only have one taco that's good now you have to be weird like me and like weird meats, so what I mean is head tacos yes, I know it sounds gross but if you didn't know what they were in your Atem, you would think they're pretty good but the quality of everything is not that great I'm from Mexico so I know what the Mexican food supposed to taste like and like I said only one taco is good the service one out of 10. I'll give it like at three the ladies back there a little rude overall it's cool. read more

This is the best taco place around. They are so delicious and always quick! Would highly recommend.

Food was gross. Service was eh and it smelled so bad in there. The decor was cute but that was about it. Do not go to this stinky place.

My daughter discovered this place 8 years ago and it has been our #1 place for Tacos ever since. The place is small, a little hot and more for take out, but the food is Authentic Mexican Fare. Prices are good, portions are great and the staff is friendly (not a lot of English, but they understand just fine). DON'T bring a Credit Card, it's Cash only, but at these prices, that's NOT a problem. If you want to taste REAL Hispanic food, this little gem is worth the search. My daughter lives in Tampa now but when she's in town, she only stops here for her Taco-Fix!. read more

Food: 5 stars, authentic, fresh, delicious Knocking a star off for two reasons: 1) Our order was messed up and we had to wait for them to make the item they messed up on. We talked to two different people on the phone when ordering but it appears neither of them really understood what we were saying but that wasn't conveyed to us. 2) They only take cash and that information isn't readily available to see and they don't mention it on the phone when you call. They have an ATM but honestly I don't bring my debit card with me anywhere unless I know I'm going to need it (I use it maybe once a year). In short, be extremely clear about what you are ordering, bring cash, and enjoy! read more

They have good food. But whenever I used to walk in, the lady looks mad as heck. I have no idea why. Have been eating here for a few years and my visits have only become more frequent as my love for their food has deepened in time. Solid 4 stars. Tortillas are delicious and you can purchase by themselves/by the lb. I think thereabouts $3 a pound. We had 6 tacos, a bottle of water and a bottle of diet coke for $19. Tried the pastor, barbacoa and carnitas tacos. All were very good. I'm a fanatic of chorizo but liked pastor better here. All were very tasty. Note, these tacos just come with cilantro and a wedge of lime, nothing else. No onions. The salsa was absolutely delicious. I poured a ton on my tacos. The inside smells like a deep fryer and is grungy; this is a take out place. Frequented by loads of mexicans buying pounds of tortillas at a time. Legit. Why not five stars? Improve wait times. We ordered there and waited and it was a bit long considering what we got (6 tacos). Also, I'm a stickler for good customer service and they basically had no service. Also, the pricing is so small it's hard to read. Its a solid place but with a few tweeks it could be great. read more

First let's start off by saying that $3 for tacos is outrageous .... Second, the tacos didn't taste seasoned or fully cooked. Given that I paid $3 for a single taco I was expecting that they would be some of the best tacos that I have had given they are significantly overpriced in comparison to nearby taco shops. It was also alarming to find out that they don't accept cash... (maybe something the IRS should look into since they don't accept any card transactions) this should be something that we are told prior to arriving at the taco shop. Overall a terrible experience, and the service we received at the front was terrible. She was rude and didn't seem to like her job. I won't be returning and I would suggest others don't as well. Again, the IRS should look into this business for potential tax fraud given they don't accept any form of card payments smh read more

This cash only, hole in the wall restaurant was great! Super authentic food, you can see them making the tortillas in front of you. They have some exotic choices for meat such as cow tongue, head and fried pork skin, but they also have your basics like pollo and carnitas. The hot sauce they give you is tasted and leaves a sting on your lips. The portions are generous and the prices aren't bad. I will be back next time I'm in the area. read more

I love this place. I'm from New York originally so I know good street tacos. And this place by far is the best. Very authentic and they make their own pitas from scratch right in front of you. They give so much meat so you're not just eating pita. Only had their carnitas and it's so juicy, every time I go there I always say I'm going to try something else but I just can't say no to those tacos de carnitas.
