Food was terrible. Place looks like a cheap Italian restaurant you'd find in some small New England town and it tasted like it too. I ordered the pizza diavola and it looked like they used pepperoni (did not know that was even in Italy), canned olives and bagged shredded cheese. The separation of oils also led me to suspect it had been reheated. My friend ordered the rabbit on polenta and the polenta looked more like soup, the rabbit was incredibly greasy and it arrived in only a couple of minutes. I had panna cotta for desert, one of the simplest dishes to make but it comes out with a texture like cheesecake and fake strawberry syrup sprayed all over the plate. You can get better food at Olive Garden. read more

Great atmosphere, service and variety of menu options. The food was equally delicious and super fresh. Many locals dining in, as a good sign of the restaurant quality. The house wine was a great selection, also a large wine list available for larger groups. read more

We came here after a friend recommended the place and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is based in a basement and is quite well planned. We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco just like in so many other Italian restaurants. Service was quick and personal and even though English wasn't spoken perfectly it was good enough with the oh so pleasant Italian accent. We had buffalo mozzarella with tomato to begin with and enjoyed it even though it wasn't the best mozzarella I've tasted. We then had the gnocchi in pumpkin sauce and the pasta carbonara which were both excellent. The carbonara was the best one both of us had ever tried. The waitress recommended an excellent but cheap chianti to go with the dinner. Afterwards we were treated to some limoncello which rounded of the meal in a good way. The meal only cost us around €50 which was very reasonable for the great service and the good food. I definitely recommend everyone to visit la bruschetta. read more

We arrived at the restaurant on a Saturday night without a reservation & we were very lucky to get a table. Our pizza was delicious - made with great quality ingredients & we loved our pasta dish. The restaurant was full of locals & tourists so it's probably a good idea to make a booking!! read more

Had to go to Bergamo for business. Found this place while walking the streets in search of food. Since I am not a fan of Italian food I was searching for anything but. Saw this place on the main drag, and it was soooo good that I went back the next night for more. Tried other restaurants in the old city and elsewhere, but this place was the best overall. Now I actually like REAL Italian food, not the Americanized stuff I grew up with. Thanks for the great experience. read more

Tourist trap: We were recommended by our hosts to have dinner at la bruschetta and it was very busy with tourists and surprisingly little locals (it seemed). A friend and I shared one normal size pizza and a bottle of tab water and paid 23€. The pizza was made with canned vegetables and in terms of taste was extremely disappointing given the price of 13€. The service was bad too, we had to wait for 45 minutes for our pizza and at least 20 minutes before we received our water, we also waited very long for the bill. In the end we paid 25€ because we were not given back the change without even asking. In Italy it is normal to pay for the service, plate, etc. and I was spending many vacations in Italy but I never paid 4€ per person. In the end we were not even offered a free coffee or digestif. For us by far the worst eating experience in Italy so far. Looking back we feel that this place is a typical tourist trap that you from our opinion should avoid, even though the place might look busy. read more

I came here by hearing about it on Yelp. Its really close to the train station. The basic pasta dishes are pretty cheap, and the other fancier dishes are around 20 euro +/-. But from what we saw from the plates being served, they looked incredible. We ordered the eggplant parmesan for the appetizer -- it was the best we'd had for the 2 weeks we were in Italy (from between Amalfi and Milan!) We got the carbonara and the lasagna, they were delicious. The one question I had was when we got there, we were "offered" two glasses of Prosecco. We assumed these were complimentary, since they just brought them to us without asking for them. I had asked for one more during the course of the dinner. On the bill, I saw a charge for 2 Proseccos, each at 8 euro each. So that was an extra 16 euro charge on the bill I was unsure of. Either we were charged for the two, and I was given a complimentary drink, or we were charged for two when I had only asked for one. I didn't ask about it because the food was good and I was exhausted, but that was the only gripe I had. The food was so good, I staff was friendly, so I only assumed it to be a mistake somewhere. By far the worst meal I have ever had in Italy. I ordered the gnocchi and it was completely inedible. Best part? A hidden cover charge! No joke, in fine print at the bottom of the menu, they added about $3 per person just for the pleasure of eating (or in my case, not eating because I could not) their food. It was expensive, disgusting food, and the waiter made us feel that they were doing us a service. Avoid. read more
