Had a very nice dinner with my wife who does not eat seafood. She accommodates my love of seafoods so long as there are non-water borne options. La Bolee did the trick. Charming little house/cottage. Cozy and romantic. Located a bit outside of Tadoussac. Make reservations as it is popular and does not seat very many customers. A bit expensive. The waiters know the menu, which is seafood and other somewhat odd items, like bison. Wife had a creamed chicken that was rich and full of flavor. I had the coquilles St. Jaques which was excellent. Dessert, of which they have a few, was creme brulee and that was so good. Service was great and the staff very friendly. Most all staff can help you in English, without being putout. Beautiful meal here our last night in town. Everything was well prepared and fresh. Standouts were the tuna salmon tartar and baked brie appetizers, as well as the seafood coquille main, which the server told us they are known for. However the rabbit and duck were good too so don't be shy about trying the meat dishes at this seafood restaurant. One member of our party thought the place was a bit old school. Our least favourite dishes were the pickled mussels appetizer and crab legs main. Both were very fresh and tasty, but nothing spectacular. Of the table's dessert choices our winner was the crème brûlée. Restaurant is a fixed table d'hôte, 3 courses, with enough variety among options so that you don't feel constricted. While on vacation and looking for a place with local food, we decided to have supper in this restaurant. The location is good and the service is friendly. The food is also good though a bit pricey. It is however a good chance to discover some unusual meals. Having bison is not something that you eat every day. And listen to the recommendation of the waiter. They know what they are talking about. read more

Nice restaurant at the entrance of tadoussac, a bit before the main avenue. Very nice intereriour and ambiance, definitely excellent service. Food price was decent and very good. Great quality vs price ratio. There was a Table d'hôte (appetiser, main course and desserts) at 35$. They offer wine pairing (3 glasses for 18$), and are flexible for vegetarian options or alternatives. One of the best crème brûlée ever, and we tried quite a lot world wide. I have a feeling that this place is gaining stars and the owner really wants to improve futhermore the overall experience of the place. I had glavelax with small salad as appetiser; order a Waterzooï, which I never had since my trip in Brussels. The chicken was awesome, tasteful and tender. The ending was a very nice cheese selection (pick 3 out of 5), for 8$. Love it. My girlfriend took the Table d'hôte, which salad (or soup) as vegetarian replacement (originally comes with deer), scallops & shrimps as main course, and the crème brûlée. It's a nice cosy place at the entrance of Tadoussac. We were looking for more local food (or at least no more burgers and fries please!) and found this place. The atmosphere is of a very (very!) low light - so low you sometimes wonder whether eating in the dark wouldn't be better! The service is a hit or miss. One of the waitress was great and friendly, the other rather rude and expeditive... And for some unknown reason, they kept on switching between both of them. We tried the Labrador fish and the Lobster and St Jacques. Both were absotulety delicious, which was really refreshing from our few days of trying to eat around there (did I mention I can't stand burgers and fries anymore!) The prices are in accordance with the overly touristy area and the quality of the food. So if you're in the area, it's a good pick. read more

My parents did the table d'hôte and loved the salmon (smoked and flambée) and the elk steak was good while the cheese was fabulous. I had the smoked meats..Brebis, really excellent selection on great salad. For the main I had a wonderful, tasty Pétoncles hommard et crevettes façon coquilles St Jaques. Refined, resourceful cooking and authentic local ingredients where possible! Great experience in a wonderful room and professional and nice service. Highly recommend it. read more

Great food quality - fresh and local products. We had three different fishes (plie, salmon and morue) and all of them were cooked perfectly with rice and fresh veggies. Homemade tasty deserts: bleuets pie, maple ice cream and creme brulee. The restaurant is a little aside from all the other ones but you won't regret walking the extra few feet for good food. Another great restaurant in Tadoussac... we had seafood stew -- with extremely fresh seafood, although the lobster portion was disappointingly small. My dining companion said the cod was the best she's ever had. Nice grilled veggies and good cocktails also. read more
