    Half chicken with fries
    Kate M.

Very friendly staff. There is NO chicken 3-5pm!! We didn't know but luckily it we got there 4:50pm so only had to wait a short while. Chicken was tender, pretty moist. The skin was delicious - crispy, plenty of salt/spices. I can see why you'd want to add this to any entree. If health wasn't of concern, I would opt for just the skin. The meat is for the gains (haha) Fries were pretty good but I prefer the extra crispy kind. This was crispy, and a bit soggy from soaking up the chicken juices (yummy) but not my favorite type of fries. Personal preference. Chicken panzanella salad is good for two or three meals. PLENTY of ciabatta bits in the salad to make it seem like you're eating a literal chopped sandwich. I wish it was toasted and less bread. More greens. The goat cheese is plentiful and adds to the heaviness. Overall not bad. It was a bad combo with the half chicken and fries though. Overall a fun venture outside of downtown to a cute repurposed home. Plenty of street parking available.

After I fractured my hip and was discharged from rehab, I started physical therapy that lasted four months. That's a long time for a foodie to just window shop restaurants. There was a parking space right in front of La Bodega and although there's steps, cane and all, I managed to make it into the lovely ordering and take out space. Take some time with La Bodega's menu. There's a lot going on. The evening's rotisserie chickens were whirling in the oven and perfuming the air so we were smack in the afternoon window when there are no chickens to order; but still plenty else available. I ordered what turned out to be the tastiest lemony garlicky white bean hummus with veggie and ciabatta dippers. So very good. My husband had the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and side salad with fried chicken skin as a sandwich add on. He said the carmelized onions and the crispy skin really were terrific. It's a great menu which no doubt changes. It's very Mediterranean and everything sounds delicious, even the whole and half chickens! We'll be back!

Great little place! Gorgeous space with limited outside seating. They specialize in lunch items and use great quality ingredients including their star the organic rotisserie bird/chicken. The also sell products and ingredients from small businesses. All were very cute including the packaging for a women owned sustainable tinned fish business. The menu inside was a bit hard to read with the layout but they have cute business card with a qr for the menu as well. Took me second to figure out what I wanted that didn't have chicken on it. But ended at the fattoush salad. Only took a few minutes to get my small salad and it was great! All the ingredients were obviously fresh and super flavorful. The ciabatta bread was plush and toasty and had an amazing flavor. It was a bit heavy on the vinaigrette but even that was extremely flavorful and made for a nice start to my day. Loved the ladies working there. They were very kind and obviously great at what they're doing in that kitchen.

The chicken in this place is insane! Such good food I still think about it. I had the salad and it truly was one of the best salads of my life. Very simple but so flavorful I cannot wait to come back and eat it again. Could not recommend this place enough as all of our entrees were delicious. The fries are super good and would highly recommend trying their fry yogurt sauce with them as it's so unique and adds such great flavor! Truly such an incredible restaurant. The only complaint is seating is very limited so if it becomes very packed that might be an issue but the food was so good I would sacrifice and sit on the sidewalk to eat the food. Also, their service was pretty quick for such a small team!

My new favorite place in the area. I have tried all sorts of things in the past few weeks, including their famous rotisserie chicken (so juicy with a good amount of meat), a few different salads, sandwiches, weekly specials, and froyo. Everything is good--very flavorful and fresh! La Bodega is a neighborhood gem! The parking situation (street parking) can be a little tricky though.

I tried this place today. I bought a few items, but this is what I've eaten so far. The chicken had a mild flavor, but delicious and the skin was good and crispy. I'm actually eating the sardines & herbs now. Very refreshing. It reminds me of a Niçoise salad. This is very very good. I wish I would have gotten the large. Very nice and clean place. I'll be back.

We finally made it over to La Bodega after getting their hours correct! It's a cute little shop that you either take your food to go or sit outside. I had the chicken giardinieria which was pretty good, very saucy. To me the star of the show were the fries! They were perfectly crispy and seasoned. I would come back just for the fries. The staff member taking our order was nice and took time to explain the menu as well as let us know we can customize any of the sandwiches.

Half chicken with fries is so good! Perfectly seasoned and juicy. Yogurt dill sauce is a nice addition for the fries.

Typically, I rate based on several visits to get an overall picture of the place, but I will bypass the rule if the experience was exceptional (#1). Mike's was downright excellent. I ate the food warm and I ate it cold, and I'm still thinking about it. I tried to save some time by ordering online and also bypass any potential lines. Thankfully, there were none when I arrived, but a very full house of happy eaters despite being well past primetime lunch hours. The staff was friendly in the front but fielding many orders at the same time. I missed the literal pick up window outside, but was happy to get a gander of what it looks like inside. There's plenty of seating for groups and the place seemed a lot cleaner than the divey narratives folks emphasized. Prices were not astronomical, as I paid $14 and $13 for an order of 4 tenders + 2 sides, as well as 2 wings and 2 sides. The tenders were nothing like a Raising Cane's with skimpy portions and high price tags, instead it was plump, crispy, and perfectly fried. The accompanying sauces (Mike's sauce + buffalo sauce) were excellent additions and complimented the crispy fries. I was extremely impressed with the mac & cheese and very flavorful, mashed potatoes and gravy. The wings were no different: soft exterior with a nice crunch, meaty chunks off the bone, and wasn't too greasy. While the green beans weren't the most memorable side, the creamy corn was strangely addicting. Next time, I'm ordering the sides separately and in a large. I can only hope the other locations are just as good and will make good effort to visit them all. It's a rare occasion to be this infatuated with a place, but I'm confident it will be the first on my return list when I'm back in Dallas again. ___________ (#1) Or exceptionally bad.

When I arrived they had everything ready and it was all correct though.

The menu is small and focused on homestyle comfort food, which I actually prefer over a menu with 87 random options. They also had a whiteboard of cocktails, all priced at $10. I ordered a margarita, and it was not the best or the worst. It was a little too sweet for me. I like mine tangier and more tequila-forward, but it was drinkable. The food was amazing overall. I ordered the greens, yams, and lemon pepper penne pasta with chicken. Greens: 4/5 Great flavor with a little kick. My only complaint was the number of stems. Lemon pepper penne: 3/5 The lemon pepper flavor was a little too subtle for me. It tasted more like Alfredo, and the sauce was thinner and more watery than I prefer. Yams: 5/5 The star of the show. Sweet, flavorful, and the consistency was perfect. Everybody at the table ended up ordering their own yams because nobody wanted to share. Of course, I also sampled everybody else's food. Mac and cheese: 5/5 Cheesy, creamy, flavorful, and served piping hot. No complaints. Creamy penne pasta: 5/5 I honestly wish I had ordered this instead. The house-made cream sauce with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmesan was so good. They ran out of chicken breast for my order, but the way they handled it was above and beyond. They comped me and made me an entire meal to take home. That is what customer service is supposed to look like. The restaurant is quaint, so I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekend. I had to email to reserve because I did not get an answer when I called. The space could use a little sprucing up, but the food and service easily outweigh the lack of decor. The owners were incredibly sweet, the food was made with care, and I will absolutely be back.
