    Half chicken with fries
    Kate M.

Very friendly staff. There is NO chicken 3-5pm!! We didn't know but luckily it we got there 4:50pm so only had to wait a short while. Chicken was tender, pretty moist. The skin was delicious - crispy, plenty of salt/spices. I can see why you'd want to add this to any entree. If health wasn't of concern, I would opt for just the skin. The meat is for the gains (haha) Fries were pretty good but I prefer the extra crispy kind. This was crispy, and a bit soggy from soaking up the chicken juices (yummy) but not my favorite type of fries. Personal preference. Chicken panzanella salad is good for two or three meals. PLENTY of ciabatta bits in the salad to make it seem like you're eating a literal chopped sandwich. I wish it was toasted and less bread. More greens. The goat cheese is plentiful and adds to the heaviness. Overall not bad. It was a bad combo with the half chicken and fries though. Overall a fun venture outside of downtown to a cute repurposed home. Plenty of street parking available.

After I fractured my hip and was discharged from rehab, I started physical therapy that lasted four months. That's a long time for a foodie to just window shop restaurants. There was a parking space right in front of La Bodega and although there's steps, cane and all, I managed to make it into the lovely ordering and take out space. Take some time with La Bodega's menu. There's a lot going on. The evening's rotisserie chickens were whirling in the oven and perfuming the air so we were smack in the afternoon window when there are no chickens to order; but still plenty else available. I ordered what turned out to be the tastiest lemony garlicky white bean hummus with veggie and ciabatta dippers. So very good. My husband had the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and side salad with fried chicken skin as a sandwich add on. He said the carmelized onions and the crispy skin really were terrific. It's a great menu which no doubt changes. It's very Mediterranean and everything sounds delicious, even the whole and half chickens! We'll be back!

Great little place! Gorgeous space with limited outside seating. They specialize in lunch items and use great quality ingredients including their star the organic rotisserie bird/chicken. The also sell products and ingredients from small businesses. All were very cute including the packaging for a women owned sustainable tinned fish business. The menu inside was a bit hard to read with the layout but they have cute business card with a qr for the menu as well. Took me second to figure out what I wanted that didn't have chicken on it. But ended at the fattoush salad. Only took a few minutes to get my small salad and it was great! All the ingredients were obviously fresh and super flavorful. The ciabatta bread was plush and toasty and had an amazing flavor. It was a bit heavy on the vinaigrette but even that was extremely flavorful and made for a nice start to my day. Loved the ladies working there. They were very kind and obviously great at what they're doing in that kitchen.

The chicken in this place is insane! Such good food I still think about it. I had the salad and it truly was one of the best salads of my life. Very simple but so flavorful I cannot wait to come back and eat it again. Could not recommend this place enough as all of our entrees were delicious. The fries are super good and would highly recommend trying their fry yogurt sauce with them as it's so unique and adds such great flavor! Truly such an incredible restaurant. The only complaint is seating is very limited so if it becomes very packed that might be an issue but the food was so good I would sacrifice and sit on the sidewalk to eat the food. Also, their service was pretty quick for such a small team!

My new favorite place in the area. I have tried all sorts of things in the past few weeks, including their famous rotisserie chicken (so juicy with a good amount of meat), a few different salads, sandwiches, weekly specials, and froyo. Everything is good--very flavorful and fresh! La Bodega is a neighborhood gem! The parking situation (street parking) can be a little tricky though.

I tried this place today. I bought a few items, but this is what I've eaten so far. The chicken had a mild flavor, but delicious and the skin was good and crispy. I'm actually eating the sardines & herbs now. Very refreshing. It reminds me of a Niçoise salad. This is very very good. I wish I would have gotten the large. Very nice and clean place. I'll be back.

I visited today after a friend highly recommended this place as somewhere great to eat and get work…read moredone. I came in planning to order food and a golden turmeric latte and spend some time working. When I walked in, there was a messy looking podium which turned out to be an unmanned hostess stand, but there were no signs or instructions indicating whether I should wait to be seated or order at the counter. I started walking toward the counter when a tall woman quickly stomped her way to block my entrance and demanded to know what I wanted. Then asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. The way she rushed over and her tone made me feel as though I had done something wrong just by walking in. The interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational. I was so taken aback that I just ordered a golden latte to go. I felt embarrassed by how the situation was handled, especially in front of other customers. Any excitement I had about trying their food disappeared after that moment. And I was not allowed past the podium. I was basically by the door while I waited. Unfortunately, the interaction didn't improve from there. The barista handed me my drink while keeping noticeable distance, which added to the uncomfortable feeling as if I wasn't meant to move past the entrance area. As someone new to the neighborhood, the overall experience felt very unwelcoming. I even tried to lighten the situation by mentioning that a friend had recommended the place and that I was new to the area, but I was cut off mid-sentence. The drink itself was also disappointing. Compared to golden lattes I've had elsewhere, this one was very grainy and lacked flavor. It tasted more like hot water with sediment than a well-balanced turmeric drink. Given this experience, I don't plan to return. For a small café that wasn't busy at the time, the presence of a hostess-style setup without a hostess there felt unnecessary, and the customer service did not match the welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for. This is not a high end place and I was wearing a bouse, black pants, and dress shoes. So I'm not sure what that was.

The taco was equally delicious I ordered a skinny cucumber margarita. It was just ok. I like my drinks strong (I like to taste my 'likkuh') and this wasn't strong at all, but it was quite refreshing. There's free parking across the street, but it often fills quickly during busy hours--which in Bishop Arts is most of the time. The décor is a fun mix of "Tex" and "Mex." The menu features tacos, enchiladas, soups, salads, and fajitas. They don't offer combo plates, so I ordered the tacos pastor along with a side of crispy beef tacos. Both were excellent and served promptly. Bonus: the draft beer was ice-cold. The wait staff checked in often, making my Friday late lunch a relaxing break. Definitely worth a visit!

My husband and I hosted our rehersal dinner on the top floor of The Mayor's House on a Sunday…read moreevening in April, with a final guest count of 75--and it was truly perfect. We initially discovered the restaurant back in January when we dined there and immediately fell in love with the food, service, and atmosphere. That same night, we inquired about hosting a larger event (around 80 guests) and secured our April date with a deposit. From the very beginning, working with Jenna, the manager, was seamless. We communicated though text, which made planning easy and stress-free. Jenna curated a limited menu for our guests featuring popular dishes she personally recommended--chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetarian options--which made ordering simple while still offering great variety. She was also incredibly flexible with seating arrangements and accommodated exactly how I wanted guests placed. One detail I especially appreciated was her willingness to honor special requests--she arranged for a tres leches cake from a local bakery for dessert, which was a huge hit. On the day of the event, Jenna met me an hour early so I could set up extra decorations like flowers, a banner, and place cards. That extra time made a big difference and helped everything feel personal and organized. As guests arrived, we had them go directly to their assigned seats--which I highly recommend for a group this size, as it fills up quickly. The staff immediately began service with starters (hummus, salad, and bread), and they were quick to take both food and drink orders. Everything came out promptly, and the service throughout the evening was incredibly attentive and responsive. Every single guest had something positive to say about their meal and dessert, which says a lot when hosting a group this large. After dinner, the staff cleared tables efficiently, and we were able to enjoy the balcony space--an absolute highlight. It provided the perfect backdrop for photos with family, overlooking the Dallas skyline. At the end of the night, Jenna checked in with us to debrief, mentioning that the assigned seating helped her team provide faster, smoother service--which we definitely noticed. Not only did we have an amazing event, but we also felt like we built a genuine connection with her. She struck the perfect balance of being both professional and personable.
