Ah, found it! If you…read morepeep the photos, you'll see lots of smiling people enjoying beautiful Italian weather, the island of Ischia, fresh seafood, all the goodness. We visited in November. We were lucky to find them open. They were cooking up delivery pizza, and they welcomed us inside, we were the only guests. The owner was kind, I ordered an amaro, we were told the menu was limited to pizza, that day. Well, we'd heard a thing or two about the Italian's pizza expertise, so we went for it, our first -- and one of the most memorable -- pizza sessions of our stay, on or off the mainland. This is just my take, but seems to me most Italian restaurants get the whole Napolitan recipe right. The secret to marvelous pie is forking into the whole thing as soon as it comes outta the oven, like, as close to burn-your-tongue as possible. And I'm pretty sure the owner was extra attentive to the random American stragglers who wandered into his place in November. He wowed us. Unforgettable.

Fish was excellent, pastas were spectacular, and the tomato fried pizza was amazing!! Make sure you ask for seats in the front of the restaurant. The ones in the back are not great, So we asked to be reseated...

We made arrangements in advance to celebrate our anniversary here. The owner Francesco Gabbiano went above and beyond to help make the evening the most unforgettable experience. It was the ultimate fairy tale! Then he went one further and introduced us to his extended family. His mother and father both work at the restaurant. The passion the Gabbianos have for every dish, every guest, every detail of the restaurant is what makes this a standout. I've traveled extensively and this is now one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The ocean beach setting could not be more beautiful. Stay for sunset and it magically transforms into an even more breathtaking scene. The food was fantastic. I had a green salad and tuna carpaccio. It was the best fresh tuna I have ever eaten. My husband had the octopus salad and linguini della casa. To top it off, we were treated to the *chef's kiss* signature Gabbiano Beach dessert the Dolce Gabbiano, which we are now renaming as our anniversary dish. It was HEAVENLY. We happily spent 3+ hours there, and we are not people who typically stay that long in a restaurant. But Gabbiano Beach didn't feel like a restaurant. It felt like a gathering of new family and friends. We consider them famiglia now and shall be returning one fine day in the future. Ti amiamo, Gabbianos! Grazie di tutto!

I'm not sure how time passed, but we finished our meal after 11:30 pm. Yeah, it was pretty delish. Okay the flat bread was really delish! They served us four baskets with our meaty appetizers before our real dinners came out. I'm bad at falling for tasty bread! I couldn't consume all of what I ordered for dinner: Genovese. My friend warned me about getting this one, but I liked the 'sound' of the list of ingredients. (I should've stuck with the bread and meaty appetizers.) I at least finished the beef from the Genovese. Another friend always comes here for their steak. It's high quality, according to their experience. It looked great too! Eggplant rolls??? Darn I should've ordered that instead. I'm glad our other friend tried it. I was stunned while sleep-eating, wondering how everyone else was still able to finish their dinners - after all that bread; AND they eat fast! We had a beautiful array of food set out on our handcrafted wooden table though. The table post was literally a huge tree trunk! The restaurant is inconspicuous in the daytime. But at night, it has its own stage at the corner of cross streets. Lovely ambience! There is indoor and outdoor dining. They also have 'take away' orders and DELIVERY! Their pizzas are cooked in those fancy stone ovens. My second dinner there was mega yummy: Pizza Giardino. Pleasant service.
