    Shrimp with salt and pepper

Amazing dinner we had tonight! The owner was so excited to share his dinner menu with us and his love for his food clearly showed in the dishes we ordered. Highly recommend the anchovy pasta and the sea bass paccheria, they were both delicious and unique! The chocolate cake for dessert was so smooth and tasty, and wasn't too sweet. The white local wine he recommended for us was also delicious and was a bright complement to our dishes. There is both outside seating and inside seating and was well lit without any loud music playing. Definitely worth a return visit for us!

I rarely give 5 stars. But...this was such a great experience. Fresh, well prepared food, amazingly kind service, deep wine list, pleasant ambiance, good value. As with other reviewers, the owner came and explained the menu to us. We were 5 so we ended up sharing 4 appetizers and 5 entrees. Had we known how much food it would be, we might have dialed it back but we wanted to try all the things. The predominant themes in our meals were red shrimp, mackerel and sardines. For starters we shared: The local red shrimp with salt and pepper. I cannot remember the last time I had shrimp so fresh. The flavors was amazing. If you're an American, be advised that these are head on. The anchovy balls with tomato sauce, like arrancini but with anchovies instead of rice. The tomato sauce was rich and flavorful as were the anchovy balls. The fresh local mackerel over salad with lemon vinaigrette., the lemon vinaigrette made the mackerel come alive. So good and substantial. And the eggplant appetizer which made for a nice pure veggie balance. For entrees we had the anchovy pasta, the red shrimp pasta, the local mixed grill of calamari, mackerel and jumbo red shrimp and the grilled tuna. We all shared each other's plates and I can't say there was a true favorite. The flavors were great in each dish. Finally the wine list....I want to say it was at least 30 bottles of well priced Italian varietals. We had the Pecorino which my son agreed was the smoothest nicest wine he had sampled. The staff was just so welcoming and kind. I am glad we went and grateful to past Yelpers for steering us here.,

Delicious and authentic! The owners/servers were great at explaining each dish and putting together a great meal. The menu seems to vary depending on what fish are there, but the anchovies with fennel and the mackerel salad were both great starters. We had spaghettone two ways for our mains and both were lovely. The restaurant is tucked in an alcove on Via Duomo. It's a cute little hideaway in the middle of everything.

Beautiful seafood-forward restaurant with friendly owners. They begin by explaining every item on the menu, which changes daily. Highly recommended local

Doesn't look like a place, you would go to on the main street, it's on a small, small side street. Only had a couple of the pasta dishes, everything looked delicious. The food we ordered tasted delicious. They have the menu in English AND Italian.

I absolutely LOVED this place. I came here on a Tuesday night with 2 friends and had a very pleasant experience. It's a friendly (and delicious) local spot. The owner and the 2 remaining waiters provided fantastic service. We had the fried shrimp & calamari, the linguini with zucchini and the linguini with pumpkin sauce with mussels and clams. Everything was very very tasty. Our Rosé wine and limoncello shots (with anis) were also very good. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well. Prices are moderate. My friend's birthday was at midnight and they stayed open for us and even brought out a yummy rum (or brandy?) cake with a candle for her! I definitely recommend coming here.

Satisfy your Italian food craving. From starters to dessert, delizioso every bite. Home made pasta, sauces lite with unique flavors. Swordfish tasted like meat or bbq, in a good way. Very friendly staff, across from Chiesa di San Giorgio, bella church. When in Salerno, an absolute must. Highly recommend l'unico. There are many average italian restaurants in Italy, this is 5 stars.

One of my favorite restaurants on the amalfi coast, and one of the reasons why it is great to stay in Salerno (more restaurants and better prices). We arrived before the opening to make sure to get a table as almost every table was booked, but most people arrived by 8:30-9pm. The waiters brought us free glasses of prosecco and took the time to explain the menu. The two seafood pasta we got (calamari and sea urchin) were delicious. The calamari one had a really intense flavor, it was one of the best renditions of this dish I have ever had. Great for a casual romantic dinner on the streets of the historical center of Salerno

We discovered this gem in the streets of Salerno. Unlike the more touristy cities where people heckle you to try their restaurant (ahem Nice) these guys just chilled and shot the shit with each other until we committed to going in. We were greeted by this jolly Italian fellow (see my picture) and immediately we felt like we had chosen correctly. Ever been to one of those family owned restaurants where the owners just love seeing people happily eating their food? This place is like that! My friend and I ordered 2 beers ( these were huge...2.50€ for 2/3 a liter) and spaghetti ai frutti di mare and regular spaghetti in tomato sauce and calamari fritti. The food was phenomenal. Just look at my pics. The pasta wasn't over seasoned, perfectly al dente and not loaded with salt an instead graciously flavored with the ingredients (seafood and tomatoes really brought the flavor out) and olive oil. The calamari fritti was also super lightly fried and the shrimp inside it was like eating soft shell crab but shrimp! So get this. All that generously portioned delicious food...only 30 euro total. Omfgggggg. I can't eat Italian food back in the states anymore :(

Having been in Italy for a fortnight we were getting a bit tired of pizza & pasta & variations thereof, and were pleasantly surprised by the fish restaurant. The twist with the restaurant is that there is no menu & you are only served what they catch that morning. We had an appetiser menu consisting of marinated anchovies, octopus in a tomato sauce with polenta, seared tuna, croquette with octopus. It was fantastic. In regards to cost we also had two 1/2 Ltrs of house white wine (the choice is only red or white) & total cost was €50. I cannot recommend it enough, if you are a fish lover, go.

The house wine was ok but priced accordingly. They didnt have coffee available for the end of the meal which was surprising. The fish of the day and pasta were very good and not overpriced. My only complaint is that when we ordered the appetizer of the house (antipasti della casa) it is in the menu as "antipasti della casa (5 portions) 13euro" we ordered this, he asked how many portions 4?, 5? We repeated yes the 5. The appetizer was very nice, but when the bill came it was 65 euro for it. In other words they charged 13 euro per portion, not per appetizer, as it is written of course in the menu. This was pretty shocking as it was good but absolutely overpriced and very misleading, though I don't feel they were trying to be dishonest.
