I am a huge fan of brunch and Oma does brunch fantastically…read more I stayed in an Airbnb just outside of Brussels and the owner of the apartment recommended Oma for weekend brunch and I am so glad that he did. We woke up a little later than planned and hoped that by the time we walked over the place wouldn't be completely full. Thankfully we arrived just in time and were seated right away. The layout of the restaurant is adorable! The wallpapers, lights, tables, and everything else gave the restaurant a laid-back and comfortable vibe. We opted to get the €17 per person brunch buffet. There were cold cuts, cheese platters, yogurt, waffles with butter and jam, salads, pastas, eggs, sausages, soup, desserts, fruits, and much more. The buffet came with your choice of a hot drink (tea, coffee). I thought that everything tasted amazing and it was just a very happy meal. I highly recommend it for brunch in Brussels! The only negative aspect is that it was still hard to justify the price, but it was still worth it!

The food was varied: on the one hand there was the traditional stuff for breakfast (eggs, ham, cheese, bread) and in addition there was a mix of salads/pasta.. These were nice but nothing special (some of them felt like they came out of a tin and were mixed with some herbs/spices) . thats not to say it was a bad culinary experience- no, overall it was fan, but I have eaten better quality food in Brussels. However price- food ratio you really can't complain.

The service was excellent, and our food was fresh and came out fast. We got steak with fries and salad, and we ordered some beers. Very nice atmosphere. I'd definitely suggest dining here if you're in Brussels!

The guy that ran our Airbnb apartment suggested we go here for a pot of mussels (which they don't have) but we ended up just hanging outside in the outdoor seating with the locals. It really did feel like a local bar so it was more authentic. You can just sit outside and watch the people stroll by and the barmaid/bartender just leaves you alone to enjoy your adult beverage or whatever else suits your fancy. The bartender also spoke pretty good English as well. I had the zinnebir which apparently is the "local people's beer" and my sister had just a standard run of the mile light beer but in a big glass. The vibe of the bar though was a mix of like hipster/alternative with just good ole Belgian kindness. It also wasn't too busy in the bar either so I don't know if the place gets anymore crowded where it seems like a real bar. If you're on Rue Haute, just look for the orange & black fox on the side of the building and you've found the spot.
