Well hello EYES!!! Can I just say...I was in awe just from looking through the front window. The moment I noticed the optical shop, I had to stop through! I felt like a kid in the candy shop! I spoke with Daniele and she assisted me immediately with selecting several frames. I had a certain look and she helped me bring that dream to life! As a therapist, I had to get the "look" and I feel that was achieved. So, what's so special about this place is, they are family owned and they actually cut their own lenses...so what they means is, instead of waiting 2-3 weeks to get your frames, you can have them in about 2 days. I would have had them in 1 day but I was late to waking up and they close at 5pm. Otherwise, they are the quickest office I've ever been to and literally THE best! I paid out of pocket but it was the best because there aren't a lot of special places like this one. So I have to give credit where it is due! I have been to the Downtown location and the Biltmore Village location in the past year, just to browse, and the staff was all smiles, friendly and helpful. I tried on many styles and they even made suggestions that I would have never tried on. That made me step out of the box, which made trying on glasses more fun, and all without pressure to buy. Hannah was very helpful in​ answering all of my questions. L'optique GREENVILLE is now open and as FABULOUS as their Asheville store. I bought Theos in the Asheville store precovid and SAT ON THEM yesterday! Those beautiful red frames were flat as a pancake. I called the Greenville store and was welcomed with open arms. Laura worked her magic for over an hour and I do mean magic. She has the patience of JOB, the technical skill of a MASTER craftswoman and the demeanor of a SAINT. Yes,I'll have to baby them , but they look great. Excellent selection and excellent service. I visited Asheville and L'Optique in Feb and was so impressed with their selection. I liked two pairs and lucky me they were having a 2-4-1 special on lenses. I bought two pairs. There were no problems with them sending them to me. I received them promptly and the packaging was great! They even included some yummy candies! I had a problem with one lense on one pair and they were fabulous to work with. It took a while to get it fixed because I could not get to my optician to get them checked because of COVID-19. When I finally could get them checked and confirmed the Lense prescription was wrong, they fixed it quickly. I just visited them to get the glasses adjusted (even though I wear them every day!) I love these glasses and highly recommend L'Optique. The only problem is they are too far away! Please open a shop in groovy St Pete, FL! read more

When you think of the words optical shop,what other words come to mind? Mall? Hassle? Impersonal? Yeah me too. When you cross the threshold of L'optique you feel a wash of relief as you are treated not as a customer but as a guest in the owners home. There are many retailers of glasses in town. And most of them have the same brands and "customer" service models in place. My eyes are not a commercial commodity and the skilled opticians at L'optique do not treat them as such. Beyond the services provided, they also have the most varied array of non Luxottica brands I've encountered. This means not only are you getting hand crafted, high quality frames, but you are likely not to have the same frames as anyone else in town. Stellar shop and super people. I posed a challenge to the staff at L'Optique: I wished to acquire some specs/eyewear that could help me look 15 years younger. They almost succeeded -- I now look only 3 years older than my natural age, So a dozen years shaved off is quite a feat. I explained to the most congenial Hannah that I'm not much a shopper, and that I prefer to get in and get out. So I tried on some cool frames -- Bevel & Mykita. and I went with the Mykita, probably too light and refined for my clumsy hands. But they look cool and minimalist. Francesca, who works with Hannah, gave her approval, so Mykita it was/is. I really enjoy looking ONLY 3 years older than my chronological age, thanks to Hannah & Mykita. I'm considering upgrading to some Transitions for the lenses, as maybe I might get closer to my age. No one has stopped me on the streets of Asheville to ask if were a celebrity, but someone did ask me to fetch their car, while I was waiting for UBER. Step into L'Optique for an eye opening experience. The people there are friendly and helpful; and you can practice your Italian with Francesca, as she is fluent, and speaks pure Italian from Toscana. read more

Fabulous shop! I had been putting off getting new glasses forever but recently I've seen some incredibly stylish frames locals were wearing from L'Optique. I had to have a pair of these amazing glasses. Stopped in with my son and Hannah helped me. Everyone in the store is so friendly. I felt relaxed and throughly enjoyed looking at new frames. Love this store! We have bought all our glasses here for 10 years or more. Even now that we live in New York City, we still go to L'Optique whenever we visit Asheville. We started shopping at L'Optique because of the great selection of frames, but we keep coming back for the service. The staff knows us, knows what we like, and is able to help us choose the right glasses. I love my new glasses that L'Optique mailed to me two weeks ago. Glasses are so awesome. I have been looking forward to it for the past two weeks as this is a luxury eye wear boutique. Great service however just some constructive criticism on client relationships: I requested to pay in installments of three payments. I paid the deposit and then another payment a couple weeks after which left the final balance to pay. I called afterwards a few days later to ask a question and the convo led to a girl informing me there was no second payment made. I told her to update it as I definitely made that second payment. She said she would handle it. When I came into the store for the final payment and to pick up my glasses, they didn't make any notes that I paid a second payment. It made me feel a little uncomfortable that I had to verify it to the girl after she questioned me on making a second payment saying she only remembered me coming in the first time. It seemed more along the lines of an accusation like I was lying. I really had to prove from my end showing my bank statement, when it should be in their POS system. I would never treat my own clients that way as an auditor. It left me feeling kind of mistrusted and rubbed the wrong way. Anyway I am very pleased overall with the glasses and the initial service. read more

I have a family heirloom pair of shades that where as broken as they come, Hannah fixed them up in a jiffy. She was kind, patient, & even made them shine before I walked out. Feeling myopic? Everything about L'Optique is a quality experience from the minute you walk in the shop until you put on your finished glasses. My frames (and the sunglasses clips) are very stylish and comfortable and I receive many compliments whenever I wear them. I used to only wear my contacts but my new glasses from L'Optique are so wonderful that I often wear them instead. The staff members at L'Optique are super nice and absolutely expert at what they do - true professionals. Even though I tried on what seemed like every frame in the shop I never felt hurried or pressured to make up my mind. As a matter of fact, I was so indecisive (because there are so many great choices) that I returned three days in a row to try on more frames and make my final decision. I was always greeted with a friendly hello and a big smile from Hannah who was ready to assist. Although I live 3 1/2 hours away, it is well worth the trip to go to L'Optique for glasses - they are unbeatable for stylish/quality frames and wonderful staff. I received unsatisfactory service in my one buying experience at L'Optique. Every step of the way I had to do the follow up with the women at this shop. I received no phone-calls or alerts as to the status of my long distance purchase, unless they were promoted by me. This could have been a very simple purchase however their lack of customer service left me guessing most of the time. L'Optique fell short of even the lowest expectations. when i wrote them to tell them of my feelings regarding my experience I received this email: I apologize for all the inconveniences you have been enduring with our company. L'Optique is, by far, one of the best optical shops I have ever visited, and that's coming from someone with a bonafide eyewear addiction. And it all comes down to one thing (well, one person): Janice, the owner. Janice is a magical unicorn in the land of retail business owners: she is ultra kind, talented, knows her stuff and really knows how to deal with customers. I have been shopping at this store ever since it opened, and I have never had a less than perfect experience. Plenty of glasses-wearers like myself think it's absurd to lay down a lot of cash for a pair of frames -- which is what you'll do at L'Optique. As someone who's bought cheap/expensive/everything in between, I find that I take care of expensive frames, they last a lot longer and, better still, they don't go out of style; in our throw-away, disposable culture, sometimes it's really special to buy something beautiful that's meant to last for a long time. L'Optique, even though the frames are diverse, tends toward a minimalist style, with clean lines, but if bold or trendy is your thing there's plenty of selection for that, too. Additionally, Janice can adjust glasses for a literally perfect fit, which every glasses-wearer knows is a rare skill even among the best opticians. There are countless things that are special about Asheville, but L'Optique is among the very best. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. read more

Lovely experience. Walked in a few weeks prior to making the eye appointment. Jenny spent significant amount of time helping me select an eyeglass frame best suited for my face and eye distance (I have close set eyes, which can make frame selection rather challenging). No pressure to buy - just friendly and helpful service. When I decided to make an appointment, the process was simple. Dr. Pope was able to see me within 7 days. Thorough eye exam. Extremely pleased with the results. I now have beautiful glasses that I love and comfortable contacts that correct my astigmatism. Cannot say enough good things about the doctor and the opticians at L'optique. Perhaps not the cheapest in town but reasonably priced and well worth the money. read more

I did not actually buy glasses, I just went in to have mine fixed and the person in this store was so wonderful, fixed them right away and did not charge me. If I need glasses I will definitely go back there, it was a great, positive place. read more
