My mum discovered Lush a long time back when we were living in Australia, and their quality of…read moreproducts has consistently held up for a number of years now, so mum and I both consider ourselves "Lushies" for life. The plan was that she would shop for her deodorant at the Orlando Airport Lush store. But she discovered this store had been closed down and there was an Adidas store in its place now. Hence this necessitated a stop at a Lush store in Dublin to pick up their all natural charcoal deodorant. The location is great - just kitty corner from around Trinity College, and it was busy! However mum hardly had to wait more than a minute before a store employee come over to help her, and she guided us to the product, then escorted us to the counter and rang up the purchase. Loved that seamless service and it meant we were in and out super quickly! This store gets top marks for such excellent and efficient customer service and shopping experience! Yelp 118 / 2019

I do like Lush, a lot!!…read more OK, I have to be honest, I used to avoid this Lush... skip past as quick as I could because the scent was so potent. I just didn't understand how people could go in there and stay conscious. But murmurings from people about some of their products got me in there and now I am hooked! Shampoo, conditioners, bath bombs, soap, massage bars and now face cleansers. Hooked, line and sinker. Another thing I have to be honest about is the staff, at first I though they were completely over the top with enthusiasm... they probably still are, but after my latest visits here they don't seem as pushy or too crazy about the products. OK I know they are there to sell the stuff, but in the past I found it to be over the top.... Anyway, back to the present and I've had only pleasant experiences in there and found everything I have bought has done exactly what I wanted it to. Also, the scent doesn't even bother anymore as I pass, maybe they've turn the scent dial down a bit ;)

Let me first start by saying that I have been a faithful MAC user for almost 30 years. I was in…read moreIreland on vacation and needed to replenish my stock. NICOLA is the one that was at the front desk. I waited for almost 10 minutes without being greeted. She told me they were short staffed and asked if I wouldn't mind "calling back." (Coming back later.) I told her I was on vacation and on a tight schedule and I needed to just grab a couple things and she turned around and just left. After ANOTHER 10 minutes, she returned and asked what I needed. I needed a purple eyeliner and she pulls one out and after I said, "that is gorgeous, I will take it!" She replies, "oh, we are all out of this." Confused, and wondering why she would show it to me in the first place if it wasn't for sale, I said, "Ok, I will buy the sample off of you." She replied she wasn't allowed to sell the sample, because it wasn't counted in as inventory. I went for another product, also of which they were out of. She was so terrible and tried to rush me out of there so quickly, I literally left in tears. If you are looking for a place to get pampered or simply replenish your stock, this is not it. I would highly suggest going to Dior in the same mall (Brown Thomas,) or ANY other makeup counter. Anything would have been more accommodating than this. If I ever return to Dublin, I will NEVER return to this MAC store. Nicola was just awful.

I also like the MAC lipsticks, not as much as the Bobbie Brown ones but they I find that they have a better selection of colours and more youthful shades. I've tried the blushes and eye shadows before but didn't find much difference between them and the cheaper drug store brands. I've also used the Studio Select foundation which was pretty good but a bit too heavy. Overall though, the only thing I buy from MAC is the concealer and lipsticks. With regards to this branch, it's always so packed and it always takes ages to get someone to help you. I didn't find the staff very helpful anyway, so I usually just choose things on my own without asking. There is just so many types of foundations and concealers that sometimes it can be so confusing, so it would be great if the staff were a little bit more helpful. However, there has been numerous times where my shade or the colour I wanted was sold out. I'd say it's best to avoid the busy weekends, especially Saturday afternoons where it's jam packed! But this is probably the only counter where it's safe to browse without being attacked my sales assistants! My two star reduction is for 1. Staff not very helpful and kind of slow, 2. Out of stock too often.

We visited this department store a few days over the course of our trip. I wasn't sure at first what I was planning to buy but I kept eyeing one of the Louis Vuitton perfumes that I had previously discovered on a trip to Maui. Their perfumes are definitely on the pricey side but the nice thing is they're small enough for carry on liquid limits, they have a magnetic lid, and they're refillable - and the refills are also cheaper than the initial bottle purchase. The amount of times I sprayed that perfume on myself over my Maui and Dublin trips, I was sold - so that was my first add to cart moment. Next, was a belt. I thought I wanted a Gucci Marmot belt but my cousin convinced me to check out the Celine department - instead I went with a Triomphe belt. It's such a classic and timeless design so it was the right choice. And finally - the ultimate big purchase was in the Chanel department. For a long time I have been eyeing the goatskin grosgrain cap toe slingback heels. I have tried them on in NYC before but hadn't gone through with a purchase - until this trip; it was finally time! Also to add, every single sales person that we interacted with was incredibly nice. Elsewhere, designer stores don't always have the best customer service; however, I felt nothing but kindness when I was mulling over my big purchases - which to me were really big. And they were kind enough to combine them into one receipt so I could get the best VAT refund as well so extra thanks to each of the sales persons who helped me. The VAT refund process was super easy too - I just dropped off the completed form with receipt information at the airport and after a few weeks received the credit on my cad.
