Food not good. Service poor. Prices high.
We go to Lucca at least once a year, so we're familiar with the quality of local eateries. This place: just not good.
For starters, we ordered mozzarella on focaccia. Surprisingly huge portions, but huge slabs of tasteless bread with tomatoes so bland and pink a U.S. grocery store wouldn't sell them in the dead of winter. When a dish is merely Mozzarella, tomatoes, and bread, and you miss on two of three key ingredients, that's a failure.
Followed that with The Beatles -- there's a very long description in Italian which sounds great... but it's just a few deep fried olives. Totally missable.
Fries were tasty; tapenade incredibly salty.
Restaurant is attractive, as are the servers.. but they stand around like models or statues -- there to be admired, not to assist.
