The views!!!
We visited here based on the recommendations one of our Taxi drivers gave us. It was a bit further north pass Barceloneta. I believe the beach is called Pont Del Petroli Beach, it was located on a more remote section of the coast with beautiful beaches and walkways with several restaurants next to the sand.
* Note, if your staying into the heart of the city, this beach / restaurants requires a cab drive. It's a bit far for scooter or bikes *
We were seated and I must say the views of the ocean and beach was spectacular. It was a really nice view of a crystal blue ocean with sandy beaches and palms, simply gorgeous.
Now the food, I found the food to be a bit overpriced compared to the portions and prices in the Gothic quarter where we were staying.
We had Croquettes that were absolutely delicious. Extremely flaky with good consistency and fried perfectly. We also ordered Gambas al ajillo, now it was a slight error when they brought us Gambas en Salsa ... however they quickly corrected the issue... They were delicious, cooked perfectly with olive oil and garlic cloves. We also ordered pan con tomate which was soft in the middle and crispy on the edges.
All in all it was a good experience, I would probably find something a little closer to Barceloneta since it's closer to town and cheaper but the views were amazing! read more
