Andaluz gazpacho with crotouns was our first course. The flavor was perfectly balanced and not too acidic, like sometimes happens with gazpacho. Enjoyed the undertone of the olive oil and the creaminess of the texture...delightful! Next was the Alice salad (spinach, tomato, pine nuts, parmesan, mustard and honey). This was a surprisingly large salad and oh-so delicious!! For our main course we all chose Valencian paella. When they started clearing a spot on the table for the the pan and placed it before us...well just wow!! It was a site to behold, a thing of beauty and it smelled amazing!! We couldn't wait to dig in and we started before I even thought to take a picture. This was by far some of the best paella we have ever had. The rice was cooked to perfection, flavorful and still had some moisture without being soupy or too wet. The shellfish was plentiful, tender and not over-cooked and same thing with the generous large pieces of chicken. The seasoning was perfect and though we tried, we didn't come close to finishing the enormous portion for three. Honestly, the only course we did finish was the soup as the salad was so large we stopped to save room for the paella. We did see some really nice look desserts heading to other tables but as we couldn't fit another grain of rice into our bellies, we had to pass. The food was wonderful and would definitely bring us back for a return visit in the future. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and that we could eat inside or out on the patio. The waitstaff was attentive and always there fulfilling our needs, all without being intrusive. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you Living Barcelona 1925

It was our last evening in Barcelona and we were walking on the Ramblas and weren't quite sure…read morewhere to eat. A lady who was recruiting potential diners approached us and persuaded us to come in and check out Living Barcelona. We were incentivized with one free drink per person. They are in the back of a building that is on Ramblas so they don't have as much visibility. It was early for dinner (6 or 18:00) so the restaurant was empty. Our server was a professional. You could tell he knew a thing or two about great service. For starters, we decided on the breaded Artichokes and Fried Whitebait "Chanquetes." Both were very good-not greasy and very light. I love artichokes & never had them fried and we had a few Tapas during our trip and this was the only restaurant that had them. For main, we ordered Tuna, Truffle Pappardelle & Pesto Ravioli. Both pasta dishes were excellent with the Truffle slightly heavier than the Pesto. We had to send the Tuna back as request was for rare and it came out warmer than medium. They quickly made it right. If you want your Tuna rare, make sure you emphasize. (Guess rare means medium in this area?) Overall, a nice atmosphere (amount of guests started to pick up by the time we were finishing) with great outside seating and looks like could be fun as the evening progresses.

We sat at a table and ordered steamed mussels and garlic shrimp with a sangria and a bottled Voll-Damm Doble Malta. The serving of mussels were plentiful but on the small side, although pleasantly chewy which we dipped into the garlic sauce from the shrimp which evolved into an entire new taste. Nothing spectacular but well priced and tasty. The server was quick and attentive. The bathroom was small but clean

The black rice was actually super good, but this was the only time we ordered black rice, so I can't compare it to anything. We also tried the Catalan noodles, which was okay. It tasted like Filipino Pancit noodles. Service was solid, so no reaaal complaints. Just not super amazing.

There are multiple restaurants in the area, but none that screamed out at me. While walking by Rosti, my group spotted the massive kegs of sangria, and within seconds, we were sat with our mouths watering. Of corse, we got the big fruity sangria. It was delicious! I had about three glasses myself! It wasn't watered down whatsoever, like some other big portions of wine are in the tourist areas. I ordered the veggie paella. It was fantastic, to say the least! This was one of the best paellas that I had on my entire trip. It came out in-pan, which I love! I feel like the spices just hold so much better when served in pan. It was cooked well, it wasn't too mushy or too overcooked, it was just right. The vegetables chosen were flavorful and added a nice component to the dish. My friend ordered the veggie burger and fries (of which I had a bite- duh!) and loved her food just as much as I loved mine. With great wine, great food, and great service, I'd say Rosti is your best bet in the area!

We had the Bombon which is a shot of espresso with evaporated milk, great if you have a sweet tooth. For brunch we split the Benedict York and the Benedict Cecina.
