My FAVORITE meals in Florence were in this restaurant! I've been continuously underwhelmed with our…read moremeals in the city. I found this place by recommendations on tripadvisor and people were NOT kidding when they suggested that tourists visit this place! I'm a huge fan of Greek food and this is by far the best food I've ever had. I ordered the gyro with chicken and it is simply divine. The pita is grilled to a crisp and I've never had anything like it!! This place also has the best french fries I've had in Florence! It's so, so, good and a deliciousness you need to taste before you leave! The service here is great! You'll find some of the chefs conversational and humorous. This place is a must, no kidding!!!

Was looking for a change-of-pace from consecutive days of Italian cuisine. Had a sneaking…read moresuspicion that Greek food might be better in Italy than it is in the States, and I was spot on. Super nice staff greeted us when we walked in, and the interior looks small but inviting. We ended up ordering carryout (or, "takeaway," as they say here), and the food was a pleasant surprise. The Greek salad doesn't have lettuce, but the tomatoes, feta, capers, olives, onions, etc. are very fresh and delicious. The tsatsiki is creamy and tart, and is a a excellent complement to the Greek chicken souvlaki. And...the souvlaki is so flavorful and so fresh, that it was a unanimous hit. If you are in the mood for something other than pasta, give this place a try!

The restaurant seemed only to be at about 50% capacity but after we sat down it took 30 minutes before our order was taken. We received water in that time but no bread or any kind of apertivo. After we ordered it was another 45 minutes until the food came out so by that time we were ravenous. I think we scarfed down our food in a record 7 minutes due to being so hungry. Immediately following we asked for the bill but it was another 30 minute wait before we finally were able to pay and leave. Whole process took about 2 hours

We…read morewere on top of the world and visited this absolutely pristine restaurant during the third leg of our vacation. I am writing this review about eight months after visiting the restaurant. This is my own fault, as I neglected to remember the name of the restaurant. However, I was determined to discover the name of this place, so I could review it properly - as it was one of the finest restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining at. Fortunately, my fiance maintains a TripAdvisor account akin to my Yelp account, and she had the good sense to review this restaurant the same day! The woman who owned the villa we stayed at made a reservation for our large party (about 15 people) at La Chiave dei Saproi. It's a small restaurant in the small town of Badia Agnano. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated on the back terrace with a view of the iconic Tuscan countryside. Our waitress was fantastic. She was charming, witty, humorous, and had so much fun talking with us out-of-country tourists! She made excellent recommendations, worked fast, and handled our large (and somewhat buzzed) party like a true professional. Our group kicked off the evening by sharing several bottles the house Chianti wine and Prosecco. We shared a wide variety of antipasti - pears with Gorgonzola, mixtures of bruschetta, liver pate, and a meat/cheese plate. As I have mentioned in other reviews, I am a sucker for good bruchetta. It may be my favorite start dish across all genres of restaurants. I I can safely say that the bruschetta at La Chiave dei Sapro is one of the best I have ever had, if not THE very best. After the antipasti, we shared our main courses. These included gnochetti with Gorgonzola, veal with arugula and Parmesan, pasta with mushrooms, and wild boar. I never had wild boar before. In fact, I never even considered that wild boar as something that a restaurant would serve. Fortunately, La Chiave dei Sapori offered me this unique opportunity, and I was not disappointed! I am happy I discovered the name of this restaurant so I could review it properly. This is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, and maybe ever will have - the view, service, drinks, appetizers, main course, dessert and overall experience was a perfect 5/5. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This restaurant is located across from and works directly with Le Volte Enoteca Prodotti Divini (wine store). The ambience and neighborhood view is so charming and welcoming. The food we ordered was absolutely fantastic! I started out with the Bruschetta Al Pomodoro Fresco e Basílico ( Datterini tomatoes, basil, olive oil bruschetta). If I could ship these tomatoes to the US everyday I would be the happiest person in the world. We came back later and also tried the Crostone del Cantuccio ( Truffle sauce, Tuscan sausage, pecorino cheese) which was delightful and I highly recommend it as well. For our mains I had the Pappardelle Fresche Al Ragù Toscano which I have to say- is the best pasta dish I've had this whole week in Italy. NO Italian restaurant serving ragù/pappardelle in the US even comes close to the texture, flavor, and quality of this plate. I also had some of the Ossobuco Alla Chiantigiana (Chianti style braised veal) and you could feel and taste every precious hour it took to make it, and the sauce, in every bite. For dessert I tried the pannacotta which was delicious! I also tried the cheesecake which if you're coming from the US it is a VERY different texture, much more creamy, and delicious as well! If you are in the area they are open everyday all day except Wednesday! We are most likely coming back one more time this week the staff, aesthetic, and especially the food makes the restaurant a MUST DO!
