We were in Munich for three night and after trying German food we were desperate for good food, Italian....you can't go wrong. We had a fairly long walk to this restaurant but oh was it worth it. We ordered the bean salad and a margarita pizza, what a fantastic meal. We enjoyed a bottle of red wine which went perfectly with our meal. I can't believe this pizza was so big and yet cooked so perfectly. The server was wonderful as well as the other staff. We sat in the bar area to stay out of the sun but the outside was loaded with charming tables on a really cute tree lined street. So...if you're ever in Munich, eat here. read more

First time food was ok. We were seated and told " you have until 7:15 to eat ... we arrived at 6:10.. that was plenty of time . We returned.... Many open tables but told to " sit at bar".... Huge pizza with delicious cheese! We ordered 2 pizzas thinking they would be tiny, but we in fact had to ask for a box to take our leftovers to our hotel. Our server knew English and was able to get us what we wanted. Was very busy inside when we went, but was able to find the last table at the time. Prices weren't too bad for what we got. Had a cozy, neighborhood feel to the place. I'll recommend this place to anyone visiting Munich in need of pizza. read more

The pizza was superb! I wish I had reserved a table! The service was very nice, we came in during rush hour and no reservation. They slowed us to stay for one hour! And our food was made in 25 min and we were able to dine with no rush in one hour! The pizza was authentic Italian. The arrabiata sauce was amazingly fresh and with all the necessary spices, it was suave and spicy. The pizza dough was so good even the kids ate all the crust! My suggestion is call ahead to make a reservation. Next time in München will reserve a dinner table here! read more

Pizza was okay. A little soggy in the middle. And too stingy on the cheese. Skip the salami, too thick and salty. The caprese pizza was good because of the lumps of mozzarella. Prefer NYC thin crispy crust. Wide variety of offerings including pastas, caters to an international clientele. read more

I' first visited this pizzeria back in 2014 and again this year (2023), the wood-fire pizza is excellent.

The pasta Aglio E Olio was so yummy, came back the next day to have the same. Other family members enjoyed the pizza and gnocchi. The servers were friendly. We sat inside as we don't like the smoke at the outdoor tables which is common in the city eateries. read more

Finally had a chance to check out this spot whilst on a mellow Sunday stroll through Haidhausen. My husband and I ducked into L'Angolo only a few minutes after it opened at 4 PM, and nearly every table in sight was reserved. We initially ordered 2 pizzas to go (we were on our way to meet friends down the block) but were lured in by the cozy atmosphere & the warmth of the fire crackling in the pizza oven. We were told our pizzas would be ready in just a few minutes, so we asked if we might sit at the bar and order a couple of beverages - changing our status to "eat in" prices. Graciously, they didn't charge us extra although we assured them we were willing to adjust the cost. Two sprawling, thin-crust wood-fired pizzas later we were ready to be on our way again; we shared both, the Etna with a decidedly spicy sauce and the Adriatica covered in juicy shrimp and fresh rucola. We had attentive, speedy service throughout our quick visit - not to be taken for granted in a place as popular as L'Angolo. We felt like we were experiencing a genuine old-fashioned family business. The ambiance of this restaurant is also unique and refreshing, from the lively pizza-making at the entrance to the well-stocked bar; L'Angolo is a must for anyone living in the area, and otherwise worth the trip for a fabulous, simple meal. read more

Very good food, it's always busy which tells you locals love it. We had pizza as well as pasta and food was great. The brushetta was a bit expensive (looking at the portions) but well prepared. My friends had drinks like Gin/tonic, vodka/lemon and red wine and they were quite happy with their drinks. Prices are okay for pizza/pasta. I heard so many good things about this place. Thought I'll give it a try. It's always busy so we made a reservation. I really liked that one can see the guys preparing the pizza from pretty much every table in the restaurant. The traditional oven is located in one corner and the place smells great thanks to it. The menu is extensive (kind of overloaded) and it takes quiet some time to work the way through everything and pick something. The service was good and we got the drinks right away. It didn't take long after we ordered the food for the first dishes to arrive (even though the place was packed and we were 6 people). The pasta was good and the pizza was good as well. We've tried this place several times and the pizza is consistently good -- in my opinion the best i've tried so far in Munich. It's Napoli style thin-crust (naturlich) -- their crust has the perfect balance of chewy inside and crispy outside, and not burnt. The sauce could use a little more seasoning -- it's a bit bland (i usually add a little salt). toppings are generous but not overly. Note that the place gets PACKED in the evenings (at least, every time we've gone). One time the woman told us, 'No reservation -- leave!' So you may wish to reserve, or you can usually get a seat at the bar. Lunch wasn't as crowded. Service is OK I guess. nothing noteworthy in either extreme (apart from, 'No reservation -- leave! -- i think she was a little frazzled). read more

Tasty bistro cuisine in a casual setting at moderate prices. My wife and I enjoyed dining at this inviting neighborhood restaurant, just blocks from the Courtyard Marriott & Residence Inn. After a week of yummy traditional Bavarian food, we were seeking something a bit different that evening. The weather was perfect, so we chose to sit at the outdoor tables. From the English menu and the look of other diners orders, several of the dishes were quite tempting. The table service was prompt and friendly. We ordered pizza that was carefully made with an excellent crust and some very tasty toppings... along with a nice side salad. We shared both dishes and a marvelous bottle of Primitivo red wine. At a leisurely pace, we enjoyed some very good food and wine -- and were presented with a modest bill. Overall, a lovely evening dinning outside. Highly recommended. read more

My wife and I went here 3 times in our 4 days in Munich. Part of this was because we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott just around the corner and were too lazy to venture too far for food. I've only had Italian twice in Munich, both times it was fantastic! This is my first visit to L' Angolo and the food was perfect. Parma Bruschetta for an appetizer and lasagna as the entree, both of which were top notch. The Parma has perfect flavor and was complimented by the artichoke paste perfectly. The lasagna had great texture, cheese and sauce that didn't even come close to overpowering the dish. If you are staying at the Residence Inn nearby, it is a two minute walk to this place and well worth it. Prices on the low side for Munich and they accept credit cards without any issues. read more
