Hubby and I were determined to try our hand at cracking some crabs before we left Maryland. We…read morearrived on a Thursday around 130 pm, and there was no line to order. Helpful counter gal helped us make choices as we are BLUE CRAB VIRGINS! We chose 1 1/2 dozen medium to large crabs for two people. Based on other reviews, I also ordered a single crab cake, corn and hush puppies for the man. I asked her to send someone out to demonstrate how to open the crabs, and she said absolutely! After a short (seemed really long) wait sipping Coke and water with our toes in the sand under the paper covered table, our crabs were steamed and brought out. A cheerful young man showed us how to open the crabs and which parts we wanted to remove and discard. Armed with the provided mallet and pick, we went to work. On first smash, husband sprayed me with crab juice, so I donned a charming and attractive plastic bib for the remainder of the meal. Technique improved with practice, but I found it to be a lot of work for a tiny amount of meat. Very flavorful, and improved by dipping in drawn butter and old bay seasoning, my little pile of crab meat was shoveled into my mouth with a fork as no pieces were very large. I made time to try the crab cake and munch on the corn in between wrestling with the blue crabs. Crab cake was not as much crab as filler, although tasty enough, it wasn't the best I have had. The corn was stellar, not mushy or overcooked. His hush puppies were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A generous serving, we took half home for the air fryer. We devoured every last bite of the crab though! A real treat occurred when we were nearly finished with our meal, the owner Rob came out to chat. Fascinated by his slip trip and fall prevention device, we had a long conversation about his inventions and marketing them. He shared his business card and even demonstrated the wet floor verbal indicator. Husband really enjoyed meeting him and talking (engineer to engineer). It made the day!

There's smaller and much larger sizes. Medium/large are just right for me. Captain Chris served us. Caught the crabs earlier that morning.Fresh. Sweet meat. Even explained about how to tell which crabs are mature, heavy, and worth serving. Very selective and focused on quality. This is exactly what we were looking for. Prices were reasonable too. Restaurant opens at 5 pm for dinner. Worth the wait because these crabs are delish! I actually came back the next day and ordered a dozen to take home. So nice, they threw in extra crabs for us. The restaurant is run by his family. Mom bakes the cornbread and banana bread. Call ahead. Her breads sell out. It's little dine-in brown paper on the tables crab restaurant. Very family friendly. In fact, the walls are lined with crab pictures kids and patrons colored. You can even buy t-shirts there. They've been around for at least 10 years. We stumbled upon this place thru google search because the crab place we used to go to went out of business. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Excellent experience, friendly host, and the best crabs.

We all agreed that we'll definitely keep returning for lunch, happy hour, or dinner.

We came back tonight determined to try their food. We came in with two groups eating and waited to be seated for about 4 minutes before someone came to seat us. Felt odd for the wait but it appeared there were only two people to begin with. Upon being seated, we were served water which is what we wanted and we placed our order. I loved the fish cutouts they had on the wall next to us. Took about 10-15 minutes for our food. We started with the pizza and it was exactly what we wanted. Simple but the flavors were there! Pesto, garlic and the mozzarella cheese that pulled apart string style! Maybe could have been a crispier crust but I was happy to have all those components hit the mark. We dug into the pasta and OH MY GOSH!!! Again, the simplicity of this dish with perfectly balanced flavors. The basil and the garlic on point! Oh and the sauce, light and a refreshing hit with lemon. Shrimp and scallops not over cooked. I kid you not, I would have licked this plate clean if my husband wasn't with me! I cannot fathom why we were the only ones in this restaurant because both dishes were delicious!!! Thank you so much for feeding our seafood cravings. WE WILL BE BACK! Only sad that we found it our last night here. Do yourself a favor, please support this restaurant. This has been added to our MUST GO TO places while visiting.

We pulled up to The Upscale Crab & Seafood Truck without expecting much because it's been so hard to find truly great seafood in Bethany and Ocean City. You'd think being so close to the ocean would mean amazing seafood is everywhere but that's definitely not the case. From the moment we arrived, Kevin made us feel welcome. His hospitality, honesty, and passion for his food are some of the best we've experienced in a long time. He took the time to explain every item on the menu, which includes crabs, crab cakes, lobster rolls, fried shrimp, fried fish, steamed shrimp, hand-cut fries, coleslaw, and hush crabbies. What really impressed us was his honesty. Instead of trying to sell us everything, Kevin recommended the items that were at their best that day. For example, he suggested skipping the fried fish because the day's catch wasn't as large as usual. Instead, he recommended the crab cake platter and the lobster roll. And even gave us a sample of the lobster roll which is delicious. We ended up getting a dozen large crabs, which he generously gave us a discount on, along with the crab cake platter. Every single bite was outstanding. The crabs were perfectly seasoned, and the crab cake was packed with fresh crab and absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, The Upscale Crab & Seafood Truck serves the best crabs and seafood we've had in Bethany Beach and Ocean City. I'll be in town for the next week, and this will absolutely be my go-to spot for seafood. If you're looking for fresh seafood, generous portions, and exceptional customer service, don't miss this place!
