These wonderful ladies resized all my dresses when I lost a lot of weight. These dresses fit perfectly now! Some of the dresses were large or XL and they brought them down to a small. Did the same with a merino sweater that was an XL and brought it down to a small. It's also the place I recommend to my family & friends if they need a tailor. They are fabulous! read more

After reading all of the positive reviews online for L&B I brought my wedding gown to Wendy and she did significant alterations on my wedding gown that had many intricate details and it fit and looked perfect when I picked it up from her. Wendy was fantastic to work with, very kind and great at what she does, she made the process fun and easy for me. We needed some last-minute alterations - a gown and some pants - for our son's wedding. I had no idea that generally speaking these things require a much longer lead time, so I was desperate and called around to a few places. The ladies at L&B were very accommodating and VERY nice! Two weeks before my wedding, I learned that the alterations made to a wedding dress that fit almost perfectly when purchased were "beyond repair." Complicating my situation, I live over 60 miles away from the consignment store where I found a replacement dress that needed alterations. Agnes from L & B tailoring made a house call (without charging me for the visit) to the consignment store, Lilise Designer Resale, where I found the replacement dress. She evaluated the dress to ensure changes could be made, and picked it up and took it to her shop so that I could have the work done. I was charged less than a third of the price than I had paid for the initial alterations and had similar work done. Agnes was a pleasure to work with -- and made a minor adjustment to a second dress at no charge. I highly recommend! read more

Concord High School forced us to order these black dresses (mandatory to participate in school concerts) and when my twin girls tried them on they were far, far too long. Not sure a NCAA basketball player could wear those things without needing a hem! With a week left (I procrastinated and also thought I could do it myself -NOPE) I called around to various local tailors to comparison shop. Most were either much too pricey, rude or said they wouldn't be done in time. Finally I spoke with a very nice woman at L & B. She gave me a fair price and asked me to bring the dresses (and the twins) down that afternoon. When we arrived we found on street parking right in front (what luck!). We were greeted with friendly faces and the pinning was done quickly. We were in and out within 10-15 minutes. And the dresses were done in a timely manner and perfectly hemmed. Bottom line: fast, friendly, appropriately priced. I would recommend L & B Tailoring to everyone. You don't come across service like this much anymore! read more

I hate to leave a bad review, especially for a local business... I had dropped my wedding dress off on April 29th 2016 and my wedding was on October 1st 2016. I was told by the owner that she would not be able to work on it in June, because that is when prom is, and she will be very busy but that my dress would be done in July, this was completely understandable and I agreed to it. I tried my dress on, and the owner went over how she would pin the bustle. July came and went without a word. At the end of July I called to see if there were any issues, and was told "no, it will be done before the wedding." August 9th came and I received a call that I needed to go down to the shop to give the seamstress ideas as to what to do with the bustle, as she wasn't sure and had run out of ideas. I was mortified as this is her profession. She told me to come down on August 16th. I brought my friend with me on August 16th, as she has some experience in sewing (I do not), and she gave the seamstress some help... turns out that she would be doing that same thing that we had gone over in April, I am not sure if she had just forgot or what.... During this second meeting on August 16th, the seamstress also stated that she could not pin it up high enough for me to be able to wear it throughout the night and that I can wear it for pictures and my first dance, but otherwise it would be dragging on the floor and I should change it. I was VERY unhappy about this, but I was only 6 weeks out from my wedding. It is now September 6th, I went down to the business to pick up the dress as I still hadn't received any call about it... I took the dress, which still had nothing done except three pins for where she was going to do the bustle. I was refused any type of refund, stating that I didn't give her enough time to finish the dress. I now had 3 weeks to find someone to try and complete my wedding dress. read more

I bought a dress off EBay for a dance and got it a week before. To my dismay the top of the dress was bigger than I had anticipated. I called a couple of different places and decided to go with L&B Tailoring. I'm so glad I did! Not only was she extremely nice, but she also rushed my dress (at no extra charge) and now it fits wonderfully. You can't even tell that I had it altered! I won't even bother rating this location. One star is too much but you have to select a star. my daughter went I. to this establishment to have a jersey that she needs for a game on Sunday to have it altered. see the jersey was purchased prior to her becoming pregnant so it is now too tight. the women that waited on her was rude called her fat and made her cry. she also was rude to my 2 year old grandson that was with my daughter. if they were unable to accommodate my daughter then just say no. there is no need to be rude and degrading. I would recommend that this business not receive your business if you are reading this review. read more

Agnes was such a pleasure to work with! My husband and I won an elopement - the catch was we had only 30 days to plan our wedding. That means I had 30 days to shop for, purchase, and tailor my wedding dress. We called all over the state to see if anyone was willing to do it in time for the wedding, and L&B Tailoring offered to help. Not only were they quick to get my dress back, but they were incredibly kind. I didn't need any major alterations, just a hem (with 5 layers of tule) and the straps taken in. I have brought in multiple uniforms for tailoring, and they always do an outstanding job

HORRIBLE experience here. The owners were nice, but I paid $45 for absolutely NOTHING. I brought them a $400 gown with a split up the middle and a train in the back. All I wanted was to have the front hem rounded out, and strip of cloth to be made from what was cut so I could wrap it around the hooks on the halter neck. When I picked up the dress a week later, they had only made a mess of the front of the dress. The dress STILL has the two sharp corners in front, and even worse, they fold over unevenly now! They half-assed sewed a tiny piece of cloth where the hooks are, which is not what I asked for. The worst job I've ever seen anyway! Such messy stitching! No wonder they ask you to pay up front. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. read more

I came in thinking I needed alterations for my wedding dress as well as bustled. I came in with my mom who isn't experienced at lacing up a dress with a corset like mine. The owner gladly helped me into my dress and laced it up telling me it needed No alterations! I'm a plus size woman and was self conscious but she was so complimentary and kind. She took her time making sure to show my mom how to lace up the dress and did several bustling options. The job was done in way less time than I expected and at an affordable price! I plan on taking my bridesmaids here as well as this was my second time doing business with her with a 5-star experience. read more

Very happy with the alterations on my wedding dress! It needed MAJOR work when I brought it in. It is a fitted dress with a sheer back, I bought it online in the size that would fit the widest part of me, which meant the top did not fit at all, I had it brought in, the straps shortened and adjusted in order to get it to fit properly. I also needed it hemmed and bustled. It came out perfectly and now I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day!!! Yay!!! read more
