Susie is the Owner of George's By Susie Tailoring and she epitomizes what quality tailoring and customer service look like. This is what EVERY business should model their staff on. I recently lost a lot of weight and needed to have my suits tailored. It was TOO MUCH to take in for some other, less qualified "Clothing & Apparel" Stores, but not for Susie! She started to explain how she would take some here and there and I stopped her. I don't need to know all your Magic. I just need to know that you CAN do it LOL. I put on my suits one by one and she measured and made her "marks." I left 2 suits with her and let the magic begin. I came a couple weeks later (as I requested) as I was in no rush. Just as promised Susie had them ready to try on. I put each suit on and I could tell how pleased and proud she was with her work. AS WAS I !! Instead of the "Other Stores" trying to sell me new suits, Susie made these come back to life. I can't tell you if it was expensive or not as it doesn't matter. When you receive the wonderful care and service like this AND you don't have to buy 2 new suits... it is priceless in my mind. I am so pleased to have been referred to Susie and I have already shared my story with all who need to know this wonderful person, right here, in our community. Plus, I have no idea how many pairs of jeans and shorts she altered so perfectly for me. She is a hidden gem! Meanwhile since retiring several years ago, I have not worn a suit or tie. When one of our grandsons got engaged, I tried on all the old suits and realized I needed a new one, and a sport coat ... the whole works. I spent good money at a very good men's shop, and the price there included tailoring. But, I took everything untailored and, keeping my fingers crossed that Marika had not retired, and I went to her shop. Thank goodness! This goes back many years, right up to the present: She has never let me leave her shop without her knowing exactly what I wanted done ... your garments are ready when promised ... I would not be writing this if the quality of her work was not superb. I have never compared her pricing with other shops - never felt the need. Her pricing is fair, honest, and frequently lower than I expected it to be - especially with the quality of her work. If Marika ever stops working, I will have to stop wearing suits!

She had my wedding gown for over 3 months and didn't touch it until a few days before I need to pick it up. She bustled my gown completely wrong. It was falling all night and everyone was stepping on it. She used these ugly white hooks that were noticeable on my ivory gown. I had maggie also alter my second wedding dress- she cut off the train for me which is what i wanted but having it all the same length would of been nice. She was also hired to take it in on the waist about 2 inches on each side. But not listening and rushing like she always does, she took it in 4 inches on each side. I found this out 3 days before the wedding!!!!! I went back 2 days before and it was still extremely tight. She said she would fix it and add another hook because the one on the dress was to small. To top it all off she was also hired for the alteration on the bridal parties dresses- she blamed it on my girls that they showed up for the wrong appointment at the wrong time- she is so stupid that she didn't even look at the name on the dress to alter them in order like she scheduled the appointments. After contacting her after my wedding and honeymoon she agreed to give me back $100 of the $500 I spent- After sending her over a dozen text messages and a 1/2 a dozen phone calls she choose to ignore me. The shop location is now closed which Im not shock by at all. Maggie is the worst seamstress I have ever hired.... everyone please read the reviews about a place before trusting a stranger!!!! (This all happened in Oct. 2014)

In a culture where the word "wedding" automatically doubles or triples the price of everything, it was a welcome relief to find out that I was going to come in under budget on the gown alterations. ***NOTE: I realize that not all bridal gowns are the same, and not all kinds of alterations are priced equally, but I needed a hem job on 15 layers of material and the waist taken in on a very (VERY) fitted gown with a complicated bodice. But whatever. Just giving you a reference point.*** Nancy (it really is Nancy there when you walk in the door) is great. She fitted me, did a refit before any cuts were made, and made sure that the final alterations were as they were supposed to be, all the while being friendly and kind to me and my very special dress. The store isn't large, but there are a selection of formal, semiformal, and bridal gowns through which to browse. The best thing about Nancy was that she didn't put on any airs or make me feel unwelcome in any way, as some bridal boutique owners are apt to do. (If this has ever happened to you, you KNOW what I mean.) Oh yeah. Thanks to Nancy, the dress fit perfectly.
