My car broke down in Madison Heights while I was on a family road trip. They were able to check my car, fix it, and have us on our way in no time! Everyone was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Truly lifesavers. read more

My ancient car broke down mid-way during a long road trip. The folk at the Volvo dealership in Lynchburg couldn't even tell me what the idiot light meant and sent me, thank god, to L&B. This is the closet possible thing to Volvo Heaven. Justin, the mechanic, ordered the needed part from Canada and got my '99 running great again. When I picked it up, I asked if he'd driven the car, but he was way ahead of me and had already tested it several times. My hero. Great place, with people who know what they're doing. read more

Never been, but will stop by on my next southbound adventure. Very knowledgeable and responsive staff with regards to general questions over the phone. Having owned a handful of Volvos, with a few in the driveway, I'm intrigued to see their grounds as a Volvo nerd. read more

I took my XC90 to the "dealer" in Greensboro, they charged $148 for the mechanic to test drive it to diagnose a noise... he said he couldn't hear it. I took it to L&B, they heard it, replaced an axle bearing for under the $148 and have been "noiseless" since. They did "body shop" repairs that Greensboro shops wanted $2,000+ for, and fixed that and more for only $1100!!! We kept that XC90 and then also bought a newer one from L&B at a GREAT price. read more

I drove from Atlanta to L & B to have the steering rack in my 2006 XC70 replaced this week and the year before I drove another of my XC70s up for a suspension overhaul. I heard about L & B from other folks in Volvo groups. People come from out of state just to buy and service their Volvos here. The folks here know Volvos inside and out and their honesty and knowledge is unmatched. The only bad thing is they're in Virginia and I'm in Georgia. The trip is worth it though.. the area is beautiful. The next time I need a major repair.. I will make that 7 hour drive again. read more

L & B Auto - My 2006 XC70 after a steering rack replacement at L&B - Auto Repair Near Me - Rustburg, Virginia

This is hands' down the best place to get a car in Lynchburg. Lynn and Justin are the best. Lynn helps you pick a car to buy and Justin makes sure that it always stays running. There is never a time when I don't have full confidence in Justin's judgment. He knows more about Volvos than the Swedish, I feel sure! I have bought 4 cars from them over the years and all I have to do is call in and Justin remembers every detail about each of my cars. I am so impressed. I won't go anywhere else to get my car fixed. Their prices are so reasonable, it doesn't even feel like you're paying Volvo prices! Absolutely highly recommend L&B. read more

Over the phone/text/email, Justin and I identified a wheel I needed to replace a wheel that was bent by a pothole on my 06 Volvo V50. We worked together to make sure he had the right one in stock before I drove the hour to Rustburg to pick it up. After getting home to my local tire shop (where my broken-wheel car was), they mounted the wheel and now everything is great! Two thumbs up for friendly, knowledgeable service! read more

Justin was huge help.... had my exhaust for the V70 R, and they installed in in 45 minutes after I got there. Impressive....

This business sells and services Volvos. I found them in a Volvo web forum. I had a noisy differential. Local dealer and an independent repair shop offered new or used differentials for $8,000 to $10,000. With limited mileage warranty, for only 12 mos. The higher estimate included replacing the rear axle too. I drove from Michigan to their shop near Lynchburg, Va. They replaced the differential with a rebuilt. They rebuild them there. Currently with a warranty as long as you own. I brought the vehicle in early in the morning. Also for other maintenance. I was given a free loaner for the day. With all the other required work; my vehicle was still repaired in 1 day. The total cost of differential was less than $2,000. The other work was reasonably priced. I was able to see repaired parts. This business sells used Volvos. Their inventory of vehicles and parts was impressive. The owner/mgr, was very helpful, friendly and competent. I highly recommend this business. read more

Our Volvo XC 60 rear differential started to make a loud noise. Justin helped us diagnose and have it repaired saving thousands. We were treated so well by everyone there. This is a place that loves Volvos and Volvo's owners. It was worth a three hour drive. read more

reviewed in the last week I can not say anything bad about this company. I bought a car for my daughter from them and she is very happy with the car. The ASB light came on after she moved away from the area and I called them they told me what it might be and gave me a name of a company in the area she lives that a former employee now works. They did not only meet my expectations they far exceeded them. read more

If you own a Volvo this is the place to get it fixed. I have been taking my cars here for nearly 20 years. It is a bit out of the way but the trip is well worth it. I don't let anyone but the staff at L & B work on my cars. read more

My 05 Volvo was rear-end destroyed & that car saved my life. I researched on dealers for days then drove 6 hours into the lovely VA mountains with old farms all around (a Mennonite community I believe) to get to the most amazing Volvo rehab facility you will find anywhere. There are thousands of used Volvos on hand for them to pull parts from (it is like the Forest Lawn of Volvos), a body shop just for Volvos & mechanics just for Volvos with decades of experience in obtaining insurance-written off Volvos with surprising little damage (they give you "before" pictures for the cars you consider). Lynn and his family/workers know everything about Volvos & they do all the body work/mechanical work themselves to bring you a tip-top shape car with seriously low miles (my 07 xc70 has 57k miles & is beautiful) for thousands of dollars less than you can find anywhere else. What is more, Lynn and his community up there have old-world values of hard work, integrity, honesty, modesty, and lack of greed. They have pride in what they do & they want you to have a good reliable & safe car. I have purchased 12 cars in my lifetime and have never had a car-buying experience like this. It is like an old world craftsman built you a custom piece of furniture & can tell you everything about it & you can enjoy it with confidence for many years. I drove my 07 xc70 that I bought from them 310 miles back to coastal NC after that through rain & some sleet with zero problems. They even have a 2-month / 2k miles warranty should anything go wrong. Even more, I know I can call Lynn & get his decades of specialty knowledge in Volvos to help with whatever might come up. If you want safety #1 get a Volvo. If you want that unparalleled level of experience/expertise and integrity to get a really fine car with low miles and a seriously good price, hit the road for L & B Auto up in Rustburg, VA. read more
