    Truffle pasta

Wonderful little restaurant with excellent service & amazing truffle pasta with what look to be homemade noodles. Good food and great company ~ husband enjoyed a drink called grappa made of grape skins (golden variety) and liked the smooth flavor.

This is a really tasty and affordable restaurant in Barga. The town itself is charming and after you are done seeing all the sights you can settle right in to this restaurant. It has very few tables so a reservation is suggested. The risotto was my favorite dish of the ones we tried.

The truffle maccheroni was amazing. Great value, quality, service and staff. We definitely recommend checking it out. You won't be disappointed. Yelp requires a lot of text to post a review; so, blah, blah, blah, go check this place out.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Everything we had was delicious. Starter, homemade pasta, risotto and especially beef fillet with balsamic sauce, which was fabulous. What a perfect mixture of tastes!!! Crême brùle was also delicious and apple tart was extremely tasty. We are in the area till Wednesday and guess which restaurant we chose and already made reservation for our last night.

This is definitely one of the jewels in Toscana area! The food was excellent! We had the skirt steak and black truffle pasta! Then we had the homemade apple pie with custard and panna cota its with fresh berries sauce. It's too die for! We have been traveling from Florence and all over southern to northern Tuscany but this trattoria has been the best food served! Everything is fresh and homemade. The server Guy is superb!

Took a short cab ride to the old city walls from the Renaissance on a busy Saturday night. I suggest that you have the hotel call in for a reservation. Was promptly seated in the back room, past the kitchen where there were about 5 tables of various sizes. Loved the décor which included a large mural of the valley on one wall. I loved the menus written on parchment and rolled up like an cherished document. We decided on a full course dinner. The local Bazzone ham is something you're only going to find in Tuscany. Thinly sliced long slivers of meat filled the plate along with three pieces of toast covered in cheese and topped with truffles. We enjoyed the Risotto with Vegetables, it was creamy and finely chopped. Also, the beet salad was delicious. It had a slight vinegrette that enhanced the flavor. The main of strips of beef topped with herbs was cooked to perfection. The other main was a grilled pork chop with green peppercorn sauce. Where else would you find two main courses for 12 and 16 Euro? Finished it off with a Vanilla Gelato and Coffee. Excellent dining.

We reserved a place at 7:30pm since Saturday in Barga can get a little busy. But the parking was a challenge. The food is quite delicious, especially the bread with the nuts. House wine is tasty. The menu had 4-5 different choices for the 1st, 2nd, (3rd?) courses plus dessert. We got very stuffed by the end of the second course. Since we are a large group, we couldn't sit outside to enjoy the nice view of the castle. You can hardly go wrong with the food there... The service is quite good.

This place gets 4 stars for price and service. Food is a good deal for the price also. We had homemade pasta with a truffle cream sauce. That was great! Then we had roasted pork. The sauce was good but the pork was a little over cooked. The house wine was cheap and good. Located in the small town of Barga just after the old stone gate.

Darling setting. Excellent service. Delicious homemade pasta and desserts. I had the pork tenderloin and the peppercorn sauce was amazing.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Waiter was super friendly, taking time to explain their wines in detail and food options. They even have a kids menu with sizeable portions for older kids. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and it was definitely the best wine we had with meals in Florence. Gnocchi and wild boar taglietelle were outstanding. Had we had come earlier in our stay we might have come back again They also do a wine window which I wish I'd known about earlier because the other one we tried for fun was not good

The steak came out with great presentation. Sizzling on a hot plat. Giant piece of meat. We easily finish all the meat, so it was good. The steak tasted normal though - not as beefy as dry aged beef, or not as flavorful at some other places i have tried (Porteno in Sydney), Just regular red meat taste. A little not salty enough. For sure not the best steak i have ever eaten. Probably due to the simple way how Florentine steaks are cooked. The tiramisu was also mid. Servers were somehow all non-Italian (Indians), so that gave me a touristy vibe. But whatever lol. Anyways, it was still a good dinner date overall, so just want to leave it at a positive note.

Since we knew we couldn't finish the gigantic Florentine steak, we opted for the rib eye steak. I was particularly impressed with the steak. It was surprisingly tough considering it was rib eye. Did not notice much marbling on the rib eye either. On the other hand, I did enjoy the Beef Ragu as it provided tender chunks of beef in a tomato and carrot based ragu sauce. Very tasty and the pasta was tender and good bite to it. The service was subpar and uneven for us. Nobody even acknowledged us for 10 min after we sat and I had to flag someone to help us. The waiter seemed disinterested and just asked whether we are ready to order. Seems like they didn't know who was supposed to serve my table. Oh well. Guess I won't be coming back give all the restaurant options in Florence.
